Some news on this Christmas Eve


CLAMP in CARDLAND:

My very obvious guess was right and Chobits has joined the list of CLAMP works to feature on the 2nd Series, now there’s only 2 works left to be announced:

1 – RG Veda
2 – 20 Mensho ni Onegai!!
3 – Tokyo Babylon
4 – ?
5 – Mahou Kishi Rayearth
6 – Card Captor Sakura
7 – ?
8 – Chobits
9 – XXXHOLiC
10 – Tsubasa
11 – Kobato.

We have also news on the 3 cards with new CLAMP illustrations. Like I have posted here previously, the Secret Card will feature Lelouch and C.C., and we can see for now the card’s silhouette (looks really cool):

The card from the far left will contain the same illustration from the package and will be entitled “New Companion”. The one from the far right is the Point Card and it’s called “Tokyo Tower”.

Hum… I love that so far all point cards are somehow related to X xD

The 2nd Series of CLAMP in CARDLAND is expected for February.

Kobato. #1, again:

I’m making such a big fuss over Kobato.’s tankoubon because it’s a new CLAMP tankoubon in 4 years and the first one of Kobato after 3 freaking years of serialization! So forgive me if I’m being repetitive ^^”

Although the official release date is marked for December 26, the tankoubon is being sold in some japanese bookstores since the 22.

Some pictures have surfaced in the web and additionally, the book’s content was revealed! Click on the picture to enlarge it.

A CLAMP tankoubon with a table of contents? That’s something we don’t see everyday ^^

As can be seen in the contents, the book features the first 9 chapters published in Newtype (known as “Exams.”) and the first chapter of the “(Temporary)” series, published in Sunday GX.

Something worth mentioning is that they are all named “chapters”, and therefore, the 1st chapter of the “(Temporary)” series has become the 10th chapter.

Thanks to the table of contents we can also confirm the official page count, around 160 pages, which is also confirmed by Yahoo Books.

Lastly, here’s a picture from the long awaited first tankoubon of Kobato., where we can see it’s obi:

Kobato. #1 will be officially released on December 26.

I believe the 2nd tankoubon should come in the next few months, and I think it’ll carry the other 6 “(Temporary)” chapters plus 2 Drops.

    • Oh yes! There are a few things I would like to know!

      I know they have thrown away the “exam.” from the table of contents, but on the splash pages, do they have the “exam.” prefix too? Or just the chapter’s name? For example: “Exam.1 Hajimete no Tesuto” or just “Hajimete no Tesuto”?

      Also, does it have colored pages? How many?

      • Actually, my copy doesn’t have a table of contents at all. >.< But each individual chapter is titled and there is no "Exam" prefix.

        I have one colored splash page in my copy at the very beginning, so a total of two colored pages (Kind of dissapointing, isn't it?) They're of Kobato sort of flying in the snow with a christmas themed dress and hat. She has her brown duffle bag with Ioryogi in it.

          • The back cover is pretty bare. But it does have a really cute clip art-type picture of Ioryogi looking angry (as always) on a white background. Perfect for an icon. If only I had a scanner!

    I’m going to go buy Kobato today. Merry Christmas!

    I bought Kobato today and the actual tankoubon doesn’t have the table of contents that you posted. But the page count is indeed 160. And it’s pretty awesome.

      Thank you for the information! Some fan must have made the table of contents up in order to illustrate the chapters’ order or something. I did think it was weird for a CLAMP tankoubon to have one xD
