5th 3-D LAND pictures & Kobato. news

On this extremely hot and delicious holiday in Brazil, I bring you…


Pictures of CLAMP in 3-D LAND 5th Series:

Ha! Look at that… my guesses were ALL right xDDDD Miyuki’s Figure is amusing xD Chunyan is adorable! I love Fye, his Figure was based on the splash page of Chapter 100 (I guess Kurogane’s one will be the same). Takeshi looks awesome, I’m glad he’s wearing his armor, and Utako’s Figure has a whole scenario xD

Some short Kobato. news:

I got the word that the latest chapter of Kobato. happens immediately after the events of “Kobato (Temporary)”. You read it right, the chapter published this month in Newtype Magazine is finally the continuation of the 7 chapters published in Sunday GX.

Plot development, at last!!

What’s more, the chapters are no longer called “Exam.”, instead, this one is entitled as “Drop. 1”.

The first tankoubon of Kobato. will be released on December 26th, as I had posted previously, under the label Kadokawa Comics Ace (the same as Angelic Layer and the new versions of Duklyon, 20 Mensho ni Onegai!! and Miyuki-chan in Wonderland).

Things are starting to get clearer and clearer to me. The chapters of “(Temporary)” won’t be republished in Newtype, they shall be released directly into tankoubon instead, as expected.

But CLAMP won’t wait until that happens to move on with the story, the current chapter deals with the events after the Bazaar held in Yomogi Nursery School (if you don’t mind a little bit of spoilers: Kobato got 6 more pieces of wounded hearts in her bottle due to the Bazaar.).

However, there are some things still unclear to me. If this is supposedly the first chapter of tankoubon 3, why there are no color pages on it? At least CLAMP-NET doesn’t mention those. What about vol. 1? If the 9 Exams is all of it’s contents, is it going to be only 126-pages long? (9 Exams, 14 pages for each one of them).

What about Newtype USA, who said that Kobato. would run for 12 issues?

I think we’ll have to wait until the first tankoubon is released to get all these questions answered.

      • His eyes aren’t terrible, but I’m just so used to them being pictured as a bright, brilliant blue and to see them looking more grayish just feels out of place. The figurine still looks great, though. Fai has a wonderful, “Come hiter~~~♥” look to him.

  4. I think the Fye figure is the nicest one they’ve done so far! (I mean, I love my Chibi Yuuko, and all, but this is pretty awesome.) And the Miyuki-chan is pretty darn adorable!

    The other figures are cute, but Fay wins them all. I can’t wait for Kurogane, and I hope he’s paired up with Fay ♥

  7. Thank you for the pictures! I specially like Chunyan and Miyuki, and Fay’s figure is totally made of awesome.

    I’m glad to hear that about Kobato. CLAMP dropped it just when it was starting to get interesting, and continued with those empty chapters that didn’t explain nothing.

    • I was glad to see Fye in those clothes, any clothes apart from his “default” ones is a great idea! (I don’t hate his default clothes, but we’ve seen it so many times already!)

  9. Oh, I need to go read Kobato Temporary then. It’s been forever since I’ve read it! I’m so excited that the next chapter of that will start. I’ve waited FOREVER to find out. XD

    First of all, I would to say that I hope that you have a great day after having a very hot and delicious holiday in Brazil. Genki ni narimashou! ^^

    Ne, hontou arigatou gozaimasu for the latest news of the 5th CLAMP in 3-D LAND series. All of them look very pretty, but my favorite for that series has to be Fai. He looks awesome with the clothes from the splash page of the 100th chapter. ^o^ If Fai is there, then I’m sure that they will throw Kuro in too!! For the sake of the Kuro-Fai fangirls!! Hope they include him with the sword (any kind) and his ever-famous “Headband of Doom”. XDDD The Miyuki-chan figurine look pretty good too.

    Onegai shimasu, I hope that they feature the Kobato figurine. If it is included with Ioryogi and I hope that I’m right… I will be the happiest CLAMP fangirl there it is!! If not, then it’s all right… as long as she looks good in it!! ^__~

      Thanks! I did have a great holiday, but now it’s over and we’re back on our daily routine xD

  13. …I can’t decide which one is cuter…! Fai is automatically high on my list, but Utako and her long-eared piggies… And then Miyuki-chan (keheh… I love the shoe falling above her ^^) But then Chunyan’s lovely dress….! And Takeshi (enough said, heheh ^^)…!

    I can’t decide (I guess I’ll just have to buy all of them!) ^^

    Ah… Kobato. After so long, I’m just glad it’s finally being published in book-form. ^^;;

  15. All the figures are so cute! Especially Fay, I just love this picture! (when will he get a gun for real in the story?)

    As for Kobato, only 9 chapters in book 1? 9 x 14 = 126, pretty thin for a tankoubon, even more compare to Kobato (kari)’s 173 pages. Maybe they’ll add a chapter or two from Kobato (kari).

    126 + 32 = 158 (which would end as Kobato get her job)
    158 + 24 = 182 (which would end with the yakuza cliffhanger)

      I know! He’s always carrying it around… but we have never seen him using it yet xDDD

      I considered that…. it could be… I really have no idea how they’ll make it. Maybe each color page will have a blank page on the other side? That would add some more 5 pages to it xD And maybe CLAMP will draw an extra story? Even so it will still look thin for a tankoubon.

      • On the other hand, if they drop the title pages, exam 1 to Kobato (kari) 2 will make a 168 pages long tankobun, which can be lengthen with short story, gag comic, author’s comments, book title page, summary page and/or ads. Then, Kobato (kari) 3 to 7 + drop 1 to 4 will make a 164 pages tankoubon.

        Likely, it was a try to see if Kobato would works with the American readers too, unless Kobato was schedule to move to another magazine after 12 chapters.

  16. Hi chibiyuuto-kun! I think I’m gonna get figures… Utako is cute! (Kawaii desu ne!) I love her! Chun Hyang too (She really looks like a warrior now)…. Fay is great… Really… ^_^

    I’m not really fond of figurines but this series of 3-D LAND is exceptionally good! The faces are close to perfect (better than the ones we’ve seen before).

    I think I’m gonna look for them at E-Bay (after a few months of the release, there should be people selling them)….. ^^;;;

    Regarding Kobato, it’s great news. After all, there hasn’t been much updates on the series. Oh, is there any info on the price on the tankoubon? I need to know how much is it in Yen, before I can buy it.. (The Kinokuniya here hasn’t know about Kobato’s release).

    Also, have you heard of the Man of Many Faces’ drama CD, I saw someone selling in E-Bay. And it’s definitely not a bootleg too! 🙂

    Furthermore, I think I can pre-order the and the soundtrack within this week. Wish me luck!!!!!

    • Oh, I checked the Creative blog (the CLAMP in the Wonderland one).

      They announced that they added a B5 poster as a pinup in the latest issue of Newtype! Interviews with Sakamoto-san as well as more info on CLAMP in Wonderland 2!!!

    • I also think the Figures are getting closer and closer to the original characters, this set is amazing even though is mainly made of not-so-popular characters!

      Not yet! I’m also very interested to know about it but it hasn’t been announced yet. I will post here as soon as I found out ^^

                • I don’t know the exact period, but I -THINK- it was around volume 8, 9…. I think Aoki changed departments.

                  When you see Keiichi in the Special Thanks section, that’s when he started to take charge of X (and it exactly around the time Keiichi’s character appeared on the manga. LOL, CLAMP created a new character just for him, kiss-asses!! XDDD)

      About the CLAMP in CARDLAND, yeah, there will be 3 new illustrations. Kamui and Subaru are actually the vampire twins 🙂

      • Yeah, I’ve paid like 5000 yen for each, though. ^^;; But I don’t have to pay shipping, yay. I need to get around to selling that last extra set I have, though.

        I’ll have to take more pics of the overall set, so people can see how they all look together.

  31. Oh those figures are so cute. I’ve only just started collecting Clamp in 3d land and can’t find series 1 anywhere. If anyone knows where to find it… I’ve almost resigned myself to not having the complete collection 😦
