After a delay of 3 hours (that is, past midnight of June 5th in Japan), CLAMP-NET.COM is FINALLY updated.
Check out the new revamped version!
I’m still familiarizing with the new site, but it’s FLASH, ha! Finally CLAMP’s official site has surrendered to the goodness that is Flash xD I’m not sure if I like all the orange-ness of it, though O.o
The top bar is very welcome, makes it easier to get straight to what you want, and at least we get to see some pictures, but I hope they’ll change them often (the TRC and XXXHOLiC ones are too old xD)
No new sections were created, no wallpapers were given, it was mostly a heavy design change and improvement. In fact, some sections were cut! Where are the NEWS BOARD section? When are we going to see the last-minute news? I hope they’ll find a place for them. HEADLINE NEWS simply disappeared, too. We are thrown in it right on the top page.
The PROFILE section has new SDs, very great ones, actually.
The design is cool, but I think I expected more xD There are too little “CLAMP” elements (no little wings). I still have to get used to it.
But let’s get to the -real- updates.

• TV Anime:
The TV Anime of XXXHOLiC will be rebroadcast on KidsStation, starting on July 4th.
• Game:
The official site for the XXXHOLiC game has been updated with 2 previews. They are not that exciting but if you still want to check them, click here.
The XXXHOLiC game for PS2 will be released on August 9th.
• Featuring CLAMP:
CLAMP drew a Code Geass illustration to feature the cover of this month’s Newtype magazine. A CM promoting the release was aired on the japanese TV and somebody managed to rip it. You can check a preview of the cover here on defade‘s place (thanks to clamp_now for the information).
A proper title for that image could be: Code Geass, by CLAMP’s point of view xDDDDD
• Internet Radio:
One more special guest is set to appear at CLAMP’s Komugikotoride no Yonshimin. This time, Yukana, C.C.’s seiyuu from Code Geass, will make an appearance on July 10th.
• Book:
A special book dedicated to CLAMP’s Internet Radio show, Komugikotoride no Yonshimin, will be released by Kodansha due to August. The book will cover episodes 1 to 18 (the one with Fukuyama Jun) and will be called INTERNET RADIO MAGAZINE Komugikotoride no Yonshimin.
In addiction, the Book will have a brand new short comic featuring CLAMP characters (or CLAMP themselves?) and a CD with a specially-made episode will come as a privilege.
I don’t know if the CD will contain all 18 episodes, but probably not, because for one they don’t say so, and for two there’s no room for all 18 episodes unless they are all in MP3 format.
Either way, I’m quite looking forward to this book, I believe it’ll come with transcripts for all episodes, plus backstage information and maybe even pictures (enough to kill me).

Yay for no breaks on TRC! But the breaks on ‘Holic starts to get on my nerves…
And ‘Holic anime?! I truly don’t know if to cry form the horror of the animation of from happiness…I guess from horror. Is there still any hopes for TRC OVA?

Maybe you’re just used to the old one? The only thing I didn’t like is this “separation” between chapter schedules and other news. Everything should be all in one place, IMO. They could show it on the home page, okay, but they should also show it on the individual pages for each series.

Yaaay for no breaks for TRC! I’m so excited about this arc it’s a gift from CLAMP that I don’t need to go around angsting for several weeks. One week is torture enough ^^ But holic ToT This break is already killing me ToT

Nope, in my case it’s not a matter of getting used to it. I think the site is hideous and non-standard and complicated and clumsy and not user-friendly. And the flash, instead of helpful, is distracting. Also, it’s cold; I’ve seen company websites for cars more warm and colorful than this thing. Not what would expect for the official site of a mangaka team with a high sense of aesthetics. Who the hell did they hire for this?

Some parts of it are still very confusing… and I totally agree on the “cold” part. I was hoping each series would have it’s indivual page or something, but no, everybody’s sharing the same BLANK background xD

I believe it’s the same staff of always… They used to be called SHELTY but they changed their name to PYROTECHNIST. We can tell it’s the same company by the details which remain the same, and the overall structure, but they are trying to get improved ^^

Sometimes, when they see that what they tried to do didn’t really work, it only lasts 6 months. They tried to divide the site in 2 in 2004, remember? CLAM-JAM-FLY and CLAMP’s WORKS. That didn’t work really well and the site became just one again 6 months later.

xxxHolic have one chapter and one vacancy, half of a xxxholic tank for a complete 9 chapters Tsubasa tank. I hope the series will get more steady past Tsubasa 20.

Back to the prvious design change, I remember I was confused with the release sorted by date instead of being sorted by category, but now that we are back with the old system, I’m not sure if I didn’t prefer the sorting by date methode. ^^; Although, it’s weird to place the chapters outside of the series’ topic, do they believe that Kobato will have enough merchandize to fill the topic every update? They could have placed the magazine publication in both the series and the serialization topic.
About the big pictures for each topic, aren’t they a bit too big? The header of the website is taking half of my screen. o.O It would have been nice to get a new picture of the four series that match the web design, too bad.

I suppose so… I suppose it’ll be more “visible” because of that, too. The NEWS BOARD was too hidden for a section that is due to inform last-minute and important news.

I miss … anything that bear likeliness to Clamp design. The only thing we have in this new design is orange and grey rantagle with rounded corners, lines made of dots and fonts. It’s absolutely neutral and empty, it could be a website about anything. It just lack some key element to make us think “CLAMP” (beside the five too big images). Something went wrong when they worked on the concept …

I don’t believe what is happening with Tsubasa manga O.O It is like a dream. CLAMP really has a hurry to publish Tsubasa XDDD On the other hand xxxHOLiC is ;____;
BTW, I have seen the new layout, well…it is not the best I have seen before. The new thing, as you said, “it’s FLASH”. Also, “HEADLINE NEWS simply disappeared” our HEADLINE NEWS section is now “the principal section” divided on different parts for each series. I don’t have much to say here XDDD

For the book, I’m a little disappointed with some fanbooks which don’t apport any really news. And I think Mokona no Okimono kimono isn’t that good ( not a lot of pages, and expensive enough…but it is still interesting for the kimono and other stuff ¤_¤).
I hope it would be interesting.
