Wow, AMAZING splash page! Definitely one of my favorites (I say this everytime but this time is for real XD)
So we don’t get to see any continuation from the dream of the previous two chapters (I thought we would). Watanuki really was “dreaming he was dreaming”, when he woke up and saw Yuuko in the yard, but in this chapter he seems to be fully awake and this seems to be the reality.
I confess I thought this chapter was a bit of a let-down because it didn’t explain anything of what was left hanging from the previous chapters, like what really happened to Watanuki when he collapsed. Instead, we’ve got another chapter that showed how similar Kohane and Watanuki are. Seeing how the color spread of this volume had Watanuki and Kohane, I wonder if this volume will get deeper into their relationship. Watanuki could help her more since they share the same “problem”, poor thing, she’s too sad.

or all conviniusly forget the collapse of Watanuki???
all thing included the page 11 with this spirit behind the courtains, who Kimihiro seams not see it at all??? and the woman commit suicide 20 years HERE thing is a really misterious chapter i hope in the next we have some answers

I think everything that occured before watanuki was talking to haruka was actually real (yuuko’s sad smile and everything…..)
but then again, this being CLAMP, you never know XP

From the translations, this looks like one of those “we are learning an odd lesson that’s going to come back at us in 3 volumes” things. And please tell me Watanuki isn’t still dreaming. That makes my brain break.

3 volumes? That would ruin my theory that XXXHOLiC will end in Volume 14 xD I would say that it will come back in 1 or maybe 2 volumes xDDDDD

CLAMP hasn’t shown or indicated wether Watanuki woke up or not. Maybe they’re cutting corners or it could mean something. Its like they want their readers to ask “Is he awake or is he dreaming?”. Ties in with that butterfly story though. XD
Hey did anyone notice the ayakashi on the shogi screen? Last I checked Yuuko didn’t have any patterns there. But Yuuko did say that anything could get in now. like a certain maniac mother I wonder if its still safe? D:

You mean the ones behind Yuuko and Watanuki? To me that was only symbolic, they weren’t really there, I think. CLAMP wanted to show us in a visual way what Yuuko was referring to.

She was talking about watching Kohane on TV and I saw a panel with a plasma tv? and I just assumed it was hers. XD Really whose else could it be?
Yeah and I had to look really hard to see Mokona there sitting with Yuuko. Isn’t it odd? Usually he’s commenting on something or jumping around. All he’s doing this time is non-chalantly nibbling on a small piece of food.

deffinintly agree with you on that, i want some explinations! and more tsubasa/holic crossing over-ness and it felt really weird coming right after that really mysterious scene; everyone acts like NOTHING happend, tis weird.
but, considering it was about Kohane, i’ll let that slide ;D

I was expecting a more “Sakura centered” chapter this week, but it’s good to be back to the Holic plotline. Watanuki is wearing Himawari’s apron so the part about the birthday party should be at least partly real. Or as Ariadnechan said, it could be a dream in a dream in a dream.
Well, we’ll have to wait and see.

There are too much kudo to yumegari in the xxxholic series, I can’t help wonder if Watanuki is still dreaming and if he is, when did the dream start? Is he still recevering from the window fall in Yuuko’s bed? Like he haven’t got out of that bed at all since the day he was placed in in chapter 117?
And he was getting a look at reality in chapter 132 … ?
It gives me headache, I better go get some sleep … ^^;

Omg XD That is one long dream xD But I personally think he did wake up after he feel from the window. After all, there was the egg that Sakura gave to Yuuko, which happened after the window fall. If he’s still dreaming, must be due to the last time he collapsed and everything surrounding him went reversed.

I’m not saying it has to be the start of the dream, I’m saying it might be the start of the dream.
I used “still recevering from the window fall in Yuuko’s bed” and “haven’t got out of that bed” to say he sometime wakes up (for the egg and for the little time he talk with Yuuko), but in fact never got out of the bed. Plus, the scenes with Yuuko alone are in the real world. There’s only the Yuuko and Doumeki scene when she give him the second egg that is really stretchy in that way of thinking. But the whole mitten story seems suspicious to me, the way Watanuki suddenly get surround by darkess, it’s so dreamlike …
Although the contrary might also be true, that the dream lasted only for the chapters 133 and 134. Yuuko’s outfits fit between Tsubasa and Holic chapters, it can’t be all dream either … or maybe the real Yuuko lurks in Watanuki’s dreams …
That why I said it reminds me of yumegari, when did the dream started? When Tatsumi entered the girl’s room? Somewhere along the way to the girl’s apartement? When they talk about the table and she realised she was dreaming? Did she even woked uo that day? Or is she dreaming ever snce her parents died?

grrr nothing I hate more than loose ends, especially Clamp created ones as they’ve a tendency to go astray if left alone too long!
apart from this it was an interesting chapter (for a filler) and left me with the desperate wish to squidge Kohane

I think on the next chapters CLAMP will tie everything very nicely. Right now, they want to make us feel puzzled of what’s going on.

The chapter was really a bit of let down… even though it’s the traditional “holic style”, the timing was the worst ever XD
I also think that the birthday party was real, but who knows… In the end it’s never what you think it is.
BTW, chibiyuuto, a curiosity question… have you ever managed to guess the ending of some of CLAMP’s works while you were reading it? I only guessed the ending for Suki, kinda XD

Well, shinigami-san, I think not XD I believe that’s one of the many reasons of why I like them so much, because they always surprise me in the end (it would be pretty boring if their ending were predictable, wouldn’t it? XD).
Some of the endings I already knew, mostly for the old works that everybody knows the ending (ie. Tokyo Babylon), and for some I might have thought of the general ending (ie: Chii will stay with Hideki in the ending), but I was NEVER able to figure the PLOT out. Never xD
This is the very first time that I am following a series in real-time, weekly, from the very first chapter till the very last one, it’s gonna be amazing when it reaches the end and see if any of my theories were right ^__^

The same for me… I’ve managed to read TB without knowing the ending, all I knew that Seishirou was “evil” (but that’s not so hard to tell from early volumes XD)

The same for me! It’so much more fun this way. I was reading Tsubasa through BWYS, and they’re kinda slow (though they do a great job) and then I found RoR (before it was named RoR XD) and I read everything that was there, and then I’ve been reading on “real time”.

Yeah! We always know that there’s “something” going on, very generally, but we just can’t decipher everything in details.

It is so much more fun indeed. Because we get more time for speculation. You can spend a whole day reading 6 volumes in a row, but by the end of the day you won’t have “digested” much of the story. If you know what I mean ^^”

I absolutely LOVE SDS because of the kidnapping. It’s such a twist, nobody could have thought that it would happen in a series like SDS.

Oh, very good! That is so CLAMPy, but I can’t tell you if I would be able to guess it XDDDDDDD (I never fully read SDS, but I know about it’s ending).

Yo, Chibi-Yuuto!! Although I love HOLiC the same way as TRC, this week’s chapter was a little disappointing. Gomen nasai, HOLiC fans. ;____; I really wanted to continue the sequence of the dream sequence between Watanuki and Sakura-hime. I like the scenes between him and Kohane, but this one was a little boring and I was confused. Only the splash cover save it from being a total disappointment. Again… gomen nasai.
I hope that next chapter will be a better one and with clear explanations. Thank you for the clear explanations. *goes and cries in the corner*

I thought it was good chapter per se, alone. But we are so used with chapters full of surprises and crossovers that we were expecting it also from this chapter ^^ But I liked the comparison between Kohane and Watanuki in the end ^^

This chapter was good, but something was missing … I don’t know what ! But still now I like even more Kohane-chan ! And I loved her comparaison with Watanuki too ! I hope next time there’ll be answers …

I did too think a liiiiiitle bit of a let-down… but hey they´re keeping as in the edge too so I guess is worked xD
I also as thinking right now, if kohane gets an entire chapter to herself it wouldn´t be that bad, I think it´d be some good reading! I don´t think is going to happen though u.u… anyways! Thanks for the chapter! =)
