CLAMP Mokona Okimono Kimono Sale Commemoration, Mokona Autograph Sessions
The Mokona Autograph Sessions, as a Sale Commemoration of CLAMP Mokona Okimono Kimono, were held on February 25th, in Tokyo, in two places (Shibuya and Ikebukuro), and on March 25th, in Fukuoka, in two places (Kokura and Tenjin). Even though it was the first “Mokona Single Autograph Session”, each hall was packed with a lot of attendants. Women wearing all kind of Kimonos also came, which made the event a very colorful one. In addiction, a “Surprise Guest” appeared in Ikebukuro, too! The staff of CLAMP-PLA.NET has covered the pattern of the Autograph Sessions, where a total of approximately 600 people came in the 4 places that the event was held.
Shibuya Logos Gallery
The first place is in Tokyo, at the “Logos Gallery“, that is located on the first underground floor of the Shibuya Parco Part 1, on February 25th. The Autograph Session happened in that exhibition hall even though “CLAMP Mokona no Okimono Kimono Exhibition” had been held there since the middle of February.
Immediately before beginning
In the stairway of Logos Gallery, there was a long line of people who have ordered the tickets to the Autograph Session, as well as the CLAMP Mokona no Okimono Kimomo book. As you could have expected from Shibuya, the fashionable people stood out.
Shibuya Autograph Session, beginning
1 PM. Mokona, who was wearing a vivid pink Kimono, appears in the hall. When the Autograph Session started, Mokona talked to the people one by one, while she signed happily. The “Kimono Talk” seemed to have risen specially to those who were wearing one.
Okimono companion
A lot of attendants that were wearing Kimono have appeared! The guests were wearing gorgeous and colorful Kimonos. Mokona was also overjoyed, saying that “The tension increases!”.
Okimono Exhibition
After the Autograph Session was over, the Logos Gallery became packed of customers, who bought original accessories designed by Mokona and CLAMP goods. In particular, the original hand towel seemed to have gained large popularity.
Libro Ikebukuro Parco shop
From Shibuya, we move to the 2nd place of the Autograph Session, the “Libro Ikebukuro Parco shop“. In the specially-made hall, before the Autograph Session started, the staff is at it’s largest and very busy with the preparations. At that moment, before Mokona’s eyes, the surprise guest was…
Surprise Guest
Nishimoto Hideo-sensei, who serializes “Mou, Shimasen Kara.” in Shonen Magazine, came to help the Autograph Session, wearing a Kimono. The pattern from that occasion was drawn in “Mou, Shimasen Kara.” published in Shonen Magazine #16 (April 4th issue).
Ikebukuro Autograph Session, beginning
The Kimono that Mokona is wearing here is the one with rose and crowns texture that can be seen on page 41 of CLAMP Mokona no Okimono Kimono. And then, the combination of black hat, gloves and boots completed her modern look.
Fukuoka – Book Center QUEST – Kokura bookstore
For the Fukuoka Autograph Session on March 25th, we start from Kokura. The “Book Center QUEST – Kokura bookstore” became the meeting place for the occasion, located at 10 minutes away from the JR Kokura Station by walking. Inside the very big building there’s a large bookstore, the inside of the store is also very spacious. CLAMP Mokona no Okimono Kimono was being displayed on a stand inside the hall.
Kokura Autograph Session, beginning
At 1 PM, the Autograph Session started in the hall that was built specially for the occasion. Mokona’s Kimono for that day was blue and white, like a fresh blue sky of spring. That color tone matches well with Ioryogi’s (?).
Kimono beauty
Even in Kokura we discovered beautiful women in Kimonos! The black Kimono and the red belt makes a chic coordination. Mokona said “There are many beautiful women in Kokura”, admired.
Goods sale
Just as in Tokyo, the original hand towel designed by Mokona and other CLAMP goods were sold in the hall. The green hand towel seemed to be a “Fukuoka limitation”.
Fukuoka – Sekibunkan bookstore
From Kokura, we move to Tenjin by Shinkansen. The 2nd Autograph Session of that day was held at the Sekibunkan bookstore, in the downtown of Tenjin. Because of the clock tower near it, the people from the region know the place as “the bookstore under the clock tower”. The long line of people waiting outside the shop was formed 1 hour before the beginning of the Autograph Session.
Tenjin Autograph Session, beginning
It’s been 10 years since Mokona last visited Fukuoka. “Please come to Fukuoka more!”, asked the attendants, for which Mokona answered with a smile “I will come again”. Also, the interview article with Mokona is scheduled to be published in the “Nishi Nippon” newspaper. The publishing date will be announced in CLAMP-NET.COM. Stay tuned!
