So Fye’s lie was that he not just knew that a feather was in Celes, but he also used it to create Chii (does that mean now that the feather is gone there’s no Chii anymore?). I never thought the lie would be related to that, but still was very interesting to get one more mystery clarified.
Amazing how he was able to hide this fact during all this time, I guess he would eventually tell them, or maybe Mokona would end up landing there sooner or later, so I guess he was just avoiding the place as much as he could. I understand him ^^
And the first feather ever, the one he “supposedly” found among Syaoran’s clothes, was also with him all the time ! o.o I knew that scene was a little doubtful (C’mon, Fye, lame trick xD), and I’m glad to see that, indeed, there was a deeper meaning behind it. However, I don’t know WHERE he got that one o.O In Celes too, I suppose? He used it for his own benefit?
And one more mystery revealed! Why Yuuko was not killed by Fye the moment they first met. I guess we were all wondering that, because NO ONE beats Yuuko, she’s the Queen of the CLAMP characters. Of course, Ohkawa thought of everything. So, it is because Yuuko was in another dimension while they were in her shop (I thought the rain didn’t affect her because she had a impermeability power or something, LOL, too much Harry Potter I guess xD And also because it was part of her cool-ness). However (there’s always a “however” xD), how did she do that, I have no idea o.o
I mean, how did she manage to not only appear and talk, but also interact with them, if she was in another space @_@ This story was only half-explained, CLAMP. Still, it was a very precious half, and I totally accept it, and I still think that special outfit has something to do with it.
HA! Kurogane was shocked when he heard Fye briefly mentioning his curse… this is the first time they hear about it from Fye!! XD I can’t believe how they didn’t ask him anything until then… maybe they thought he was going to kill them if they did xDD
Yuuko then says that the clone will eventually get to the World of Dreams, too, since there is a feather in there. This is all so we think that the Syaoran from the first scene of the manga is the clone. But you tell me how he suddenly became “good” again. Which is why I think CLAMP are leading us to the wrong way in order to surprise us later (yeah, right, maybe THAT’s what they want us to think xD).
For whoever says that he is wearing the clothes from Clow Country, just remember that the clone is currently wearing his Tokyo clothes… and that the clothes from Clow Country are currently in possession of Yuuko which means Real!Syaoran can get them at any time. Don’t ask me why he would need those clothes if the ones he has now are much cooler xD
Kurogane saying that he’s going to hit Sakura when he finds her! HAHAHA! In every story there’s a character that behaves like the reader/audience behaves, and in Tsubasa, that character is surely Kurogane. Always asking questions that the readers want to ask (he’s straight to the point), and here again he is expressing what most people might be feeling.
So they have decided to chase after the body, which is definitely the smartest thing to do at the moment indeed. And how great of Fye to do the move. I mean, of course I don’t wanna see him blind xD But he must be feeling terribly guilty about all this, so he must do it for himself. Kurogane might try to stop him but this is something that will make him feel better with himself, he has even temporarily gave up on his death wish in order to save Sakura.
C’mon, it’ll be the first male blind character from CLAMP XD …right? Poor Fye… what did they do to you… *sigh*

One word: CRAZY xD
This chapter got huge Tokyo Babylon vibes xDDD All the cherry trees, dreams, the page composition and all that xD Is that Yuuko or Setsuka? XD
So, more answers!! *is happy* I was SO GLAD and RELIEVED to finally get a decisive explanation of what happened to Sakura’s separation. You can only take your soul to the World of Dreams, of course!!! How metaphorically brilliant that is? *__* Because this way, for Sakura, it sounds much less like an option, and much more like a condition. I’m 100% satisfied with this reasonable explanation ^___^
Another thing that I glad to see was the confirmation that yes, Sakura’s body WILL die if it stay for much longer without her soul. Because really, this is the exact same situation of the beginning of the manga. Her body is an empty shell and it needs her soul back. Some people said that since this time is her soul, not her memories, that it was different, she wouldn’t die. But it’s not the case here.
Loved the line about changing yourself means changing the future. I agree 100%. Maybe it has even to do with Sakura and the fact that she changed the future, but I can’t make any relation at the moment.
The WTF prize this time goes to XXXHOLiC, more precisely to Yuuko, when she transforms herself into countless butterflies. Such a pretty scene, and there’s a great and unexpected level of craziness in it, because you’re not expecting that this is going to happen (since we believed that Watanuki was no longer dreaming).
There’s a Namie Amuro song that is called “Dreaming I was Dreaming”, I never heard it, but I think that sentence definitely applies to this chapter.

I love how in Watanuki’s (or whoever’s) dreams, he and Yuuko have such sweet, gentle interaction! And why does Sakura have to be wearing that particular dress in the dream world?

They looked like mother and son or brother and sister! When Yuuko said “It’s the same”, when Watanuki asked whose dream that was, I thought “OMG Watanuki and Yuuko are the same person! XD”
But then she justified by saying that “dreams are connected”.

I thought the clothing bit was funny, actually–why did Sakura change clothes either? She was in her Infinity stuff at first, and then it abruptly changed. Why? Furthermore, why…does she need to be wearing clothing at all? What’s special about that dress? Does that mean that everyone has a certain soul outfit that somehow reflects themselves? In which case I’d like to see Kurogane’s.

Since this represents her soul, I believe that it would look weird if she was wearing the same dark clothes of Infinity, and since she can’t appear, well, naked, they made this white dress (in the Guide, it’s referred to be Sakura’s “Fairy” version). I think it represents her soul.

I went to sleep after midnight yesterday (all because I stayed doing the cleanage + reviews). I woke up with such a strong pain in my back… I think it was because of the repetitive movements + not enough sleep time.

-Hitting Sakura: I’m pretty sure he said he’d hit the clone, not Sakura.
-Fai’s deathwish: do we really have any proof now that Fai has a deathwish? The Fai we KNOW has affirmed more than once not only that he ‘can’t’ and ‘won’t’ die, but that he doesn’t want to. And we’re no longer sure what’s up with that flashback from 133; there’s a chance that that kid wasn’t him. If that’s the case, it’s likely he isn’t suicidal. Apathetic about his life, yeah (What with him cheerfully, morbidly offering his eye wholesale before he offered something less fatal) but not actively suicidal. I think he’s not as prepared for death as he’d like to have the others believe.
Yeah, I found myself thinking of The Sandman when I read Holic, actually. Very reminiscent of one scene in which a guy is cursed with waking up forever (which means he’s actually always dreaming that he’s waking up, and not awake), only less creepy (thankfully).

Both of the translations I saw first said ‘I’m going to hit him when I see him’, referring to the clone. And then Inarikami’s said it was unspecific as to whom he meant, so she said it might have been both of them– but not just Sakura.

Yes, you cannot tell who he is talking about from his words alone, but Mokona’s reaction and the fact Sakura did something reckless makes it clear it was towards her (unless he was secretly referring to clone!Syaoran for hurting his lover Fay, hahaha. I wish).

About Fye, I’m not sure he has a death wish either (I hope he doesn’t because I despise it). But in Tokyo, I got the feeling that he wanted to die instead of becoming a vampire. Also, he might not want to die, but he also doesn’t look like someone who wants to live “no matter what!!”. Fye’s a mystery xD

I agree about that “change yourself/change the future” line too, and I was thinking about it in context of Fai actually: it’s easy to forget because it makes so much sense for them to want to go to Ceres now, but let’s pause a moment and think how much Fai has changed from mr. pretty-selfish-aloof wizard in the first volumes, when his #1 thing was NEVER GO BACK TO CERES EVER NO and now he’s giving up his sight to get there ASAP.
I think this may be the prettiest/most spirit-ish (ethereal?) chapter of xxxHoLIC ever. Although, for the sake of things not getting too existential, I hope Watanuki wakes up in the next chapter and Yuuko says, “That was a dream too.” If not things will get even more interesting (read: confusing).

You mean Hanshin? Demo, the feather he used to create Chii was still inside her until now, when it was returned to Sakura.

see, i thought (though I was confused) that fai just used the power of the feather to create chii, and that when he left ceres he took the feather with him, and then he tried to hide it in the clone’s clothes in hanshin, and then they put that feather back into sakura in hanshin.
this just made me realize that ceres got the feather way before the feathers even scattered in the clow world…

She actually wanted to go to the world of dreams, I still don’t know why the body went to Celes, really, maybe because the two Chiis “resonated” and the body was “atracted” to Celes? I don’t know.

yeah in the first chapters, but Fay was only smiling, that’s when kurogane started to take a better look at him cuz he didn’t trust him; then again kuro asked him back in tokyo, and so on , but Fay always changed the subject and they started talking about the future and stuff.

Oh my… What happen to our Butterfly Yuuko? I wanna know more… Maybe Yuuko is a Butterfly spirit with unlimited magic powers and… (runs out of imagination…) i dun noe… T.T
Syaoran look sad when Fay told the truth, WHY? It’s not your fault…. And hey, he cover up for Fay, YAY!!! About the eye, I just hope that Syaoran will sacrifices his eye, then he will blind on the right side(Hope it’s the right eye) since Fay is gonna give his right one, that kinda makes sense… Then everyone will treat him better like how they treat Cloney, cause they’re all in debt to him (MUAHAHAHAHA…)
About the ending, there’re all kinds of posibility. And here’s one that pop’s into my mind: Sakura somehow reunited with Cloney, but they die, still they together, leaving poor Syaoran alone… *sniff* Let’s hope this doesn’t happen…
Another STUPID idea i just had. Does soul have to wear anything? Cause you see, (dunno how to explain) human are born NAKED (-swt-), clothes are given to the PHYSICAL body, not the soul, though I know drawing Sakura naked will make CLAMP’s work hard, so they design a nice dress for her. This is a manga suitable for everyone…

first, so maybe two feathers flew to Celes and became Fye’s possession? second, what’s happening in xxxholic? i mean, seriously, isn’t everything just a dream of some butterfly (ie. Yuuko) or even Watanuki himself?(the allusion last chapter!) did he fell into the world of dream unknowingly or something? (Yuuko mentioning Watanuki’s body with the word corpse?) wow, it’s so hard to pull the hints out from the previous chapters, but when it is explained, it’ll make perfect sense for sure. XD

I also found really suspicious the feather moment with Fye, but still, i didnt pay much attention at that time. he, Clamp always give backpunches. Oh, and now i remember a really hilarious comments i read in some site named Rainbow or something like that; there were about those first chapters,and make jokes about Yuuko´s mighty hability of impermeability. Now we have the explanation. Later but sure, that´s Clamp style.
As i said before, i hate Clamp. They manipulate our feeling so well that in this moment i really cant choose wich i prefer, if the Clone or Real Syao to be happy. I hope both of them could be happy after all this mess, but… that would be a miracle, speaking about Clamp.

Holic has such beautifull images this week that is almost a masterpiece. i love it. I´m not actually buying the manga ( just TRC manga), but i think this volume is going to increase my colection anyway.

well, fans went crazy becasue was Syaoran who was holding him instead of Kuro and we were not allowed to see if Kuro carried him all the way to apartment (and becasue Kuro didn’t catch Fay when he collapsed… bad boyfriend!) but don’t worry I do pay attention and will remind you ;D

both chapters this week had a WTF vibe to them!! Tsubasa for the general ‘meh how did Fye mangage all that deception?’ vibe and Fye’s chosen price to assure they can chase after the princess…seriously how are Clamp going to deal with a compleetly blimd character?? Also I agree that the whole ‘C! Sharoan will chase after the feather` thing is the plot aquivilent of slight of hand!
xxxHOLIC’s WTF moment had to be the toal Sakurazukamori like appearence of Yuuto this week! (do you know the legend of the cherry blossoms, Watanuki??) also all this ‘which dream is the real dream’ thing…have given up making sense of this storyline I really have!!

I don’t know it either but I think it’ll be interesting ^^ Because even Hinoto, whom we know is blind, can pretty much “see” in her dreams… but Fye doesn’t dream a lot XDDDDDD So I don’t think we are going to see him seeing things, and that is interesting XD But I can bet that they’ll get his eye back from the clone.. and then he can be one-eyed again XD

Well, TRC had alot of panel-flashbacks it seemed… Not much went on, but it was nice for some explainations finally… haha ^^; As for Fay… Well, CLAMP has had that many half-blind characters, so why not? (for some reason, I have the image of a drunken CLAMP member (as for who it would be… that may be debateable) saying “Hey, let’s make Fay blind! It would be fun!XDDD”) As for what may happen in the future… I don’t even bother to try and figure it out… haha… I never seem to have much luck with CLAMP on that…

Someone have noticed how the Syaoran Sakura met has both eyes brown and not blue?
However… since souls go into this dream world and not bodies it might be the Syaoran we saw is just Syaoran-clone’s soul, or what remains of it since officially, the soul should have been returned to the other Syaoran…
Ergo the soul might have both eyes brown and be kind… especially because Syaoran-clone was supposed to be soulless… and that would be a definite trouble for him… without a soul how could he get into the dream world?

In the first scene, you mean? We can’t see both of his eyes. We can only see the eye that is brown in the first place.

Indeed… he doesn’t have a soul/heart as far as we know, so I don’t see how it can be him o.o

In the color pages we can’t see them but in the black and white ones we see them both and they both are black.

In chap 123 Syaoran said he gambled that a heart might be born in the clone as well…. Actually it seems the clone had developed none… but maybe CLAMP want to surprise us?
They did their best to imply Sakura wouldn’t met the clone but real Syaoran when instead it’s the clone she’s going to meet as it was her wish?
Just wondering…

TRC: Fai just keeps having more and more hidden secrets that are very shocking. I wonder what was the time flow difference when the time that he had the feather and the events began. O___o So he used the feather to make Chii… sounds very intriguing. Kuro’s line was very hilarious and how typical of him to spring into action without hesitation. *laughs* I was shocked when Fai said that he wanted to return to Celes (we know that part, just that we didn’t know that he was going to say it) with the price of his right eye. There goes CLAMP famous gag reel of the “take the eye out” concept. X___X *dies*

HOLiC: This chapter was the most beautiful thing that I ever read by far. I love the scenes with Watanuki and Sakura-hime talking to each other. But I really love the talk of dream connections between Watanuki and Yuuko. It was a hontou kirei the transition of Yuuko turning into a bunch of butterflies. Her words are so deep that are definitely true in the real life. Dreams really do change a person's life for the better if the person knows the true meaning of the dream. And believe me, it has happened on me that it really helped me to build a better future in my life. That is why I love this series so much and of course, CLAMP! Yuuko, you are the CLAMP character goddess!!! ^/////^

I was wondering… There’s a feather in the World of Dreams, ne? I fear I know where it is… It’s… Haruka. Beside the fact that he’s a spirit but only appears in dreams and he actually came from a dream baloon (the first time we saw him he didn’t spoke and he was Shizuka’s dream…)… And that he “avoided” Sakura when she arrived in the Dream (he has something else to do before going away?)…
Here’s the way Clamp can make one of my favorite character disappear/die/vanish even if he’s already dead and nothing bad could happen to him! ç___ç
Uh, btw.. I’m still not convinced that Fay will be blind… Clamp like to surprise us, and now that we all think “Oh noes! Blind Fay!”, Kurogane will lose his eyesight instead (in the end it won’t be a big problem, if he tought Syaoran the secrets of blind fight, I’m quite sure he can see without his eyes pretty well… not that I like the idea, eh…)
I still bet on afterimage!Syaoran of Sakura’s memories to be in the tube with her… it would explain at least the clothes!XD And that afterimage could be used to restore clone!Syaoran heart someway… *she still hopes for a Clony/Sakura happy ending*

So Sakura´s power cames from Tokyo… interesting that explains why her face expression changed so radically after Tokyo (I thought Subaru´s and Kamui angst was just contagious XD)
