I haven’t read any spoilers for any of the next chapters because I didn’t want that to affect my view-point.
Tsubasa:
AMAZING color page *-* Sometimes I find myself sounding repetitive about CLAMP drawings… but what can I do, they’re perfect! Loved the colors (Freya’s gradient skirt!!) and the composition of the image.
The spread is another piece of OMG-ness. Fye! (Are we finally getting his past in this volume?). For a second I thought the wings were coming out of Fye, but then I saw it was just a reflection on the broken icy wall (OMFG HOW GREAT IS THAT? *-*). And the Jesus crown, what’s with it? O.o
SAKURA CHANGED HER CLOTHES!!!! THAT DRESS!!! THE DRESS OF DOOM! O.O
I didn’t expect to see it so soon! But we know… we just KNOW that Tsubasa will end only on it’s 28th volume (With the artbook covering the images from the first 14 volumes, that theory couldn’t be more right). So I’m fearing that we might not see what’s going to happen to this Sakura for a good while.
So the 50/50 chances referred to, indeed, the body-soul separation of Sakura. Whoever guessed that was right ! (ne, miyazawa_lulu-chan XD). I’m a little stupid to figure out these kind of things… I’m very down to earth, always trying to find logical explanations to everything. So yeah, it’s hard to me to accept that Sakura simply “chose” to separate her soul from her body (sure, because we see people doing that everyday!).
Tsubasa is fantasy, sure. But I think CLAMP might be getting too far with the “fantasy”. I think they need to set some rules or else it feels like “everything is possible!”, or they might as well give us some freaking answers. It’s just what I think xD
Now, who’s the “self” that lost the luck? The body, the soul, or both? O.o
Poor Syaoran, in page 11 xDDD It’s time to do something! Get into the tu~be!
So Lantis is also a Yumemi O.o This sounded a bit random to me… how did the Lantis fans react to this? And he saw what Sakura saw, too. Ah, that’s why Lantis always bore a concerned expression on his face everytime Eagle made a decision, while Geo looked desperate xD (it makes sense now!).
However, did Eagle do all this to save Sakura and the others from their terrible fate? Since when does he care about them? Does Yuuko has anything to do with it? Or is he simply very kind? XD
One thing I did not get, however, was why Fye, in the vision, would also kill Kurogane and Syaoran? O.o Due to the curse? Or would he go nuts after killing Sakura (AND DO I SEE SAKURA’S BODY CUT IN HALF IN THE VISION? O.O CUT IN HALF!).
After what Yuuko said about Sakura, I’m starting to think that Sakura’s “body” has really died… but maybe her soul, instead of going to “heaven”, went to the world she wanted to? Because really, a curse is a curse. She wanted to break Fye’s curse, so unless she has managed to, she should have died, her body at least.
Something new has been revealed of that FAMOUS Yuuko x Sakura conversation (they keep revealing new things every week), that she has payed with her right leg for Fye to not kill Syaoran and Kurogane, after he had supposedly killed Sakura. So that’s why she said she had changed the future? o.o
The world her soul is now is a real mystery. The world of dreams? Right… Inside a tube? WTF? XD Why she wanted to go there? Why is that world inside that cylinder? Why Yuuko has it?
And lastly, Fye reveals that Sakura knew he was lying! o.o About what? I’m so curious!
I find it very weird that nothing about his curse has been explained to Kurogane and Syaoran. WE know it because we saw the flashbacks, but THEY don’t.
XXXHOLiC:
It’s Spring~! Loving Himawari in the color page ^^ So this is probably the 4th or 5th Spring in XXXHOLiC xD I hope Watanuki doesn’t get to go to school this year, because honestly, he should be graduated by now xD
Kohane in the spread marks her debut in a colored picture! I thought her hair was much lighter than this, but it’s prettier this way ^^ Also, I loved the stylish “leafs” of the sakura tree xD
LOL at Himawari’s kitty apron XDDDD I loved that she said that she just “bought” it. Poor Himawari has not much talent ^^”
Yuuko gets sad by seeing Watanuki happy. Weird things happen, and we see it was all just a dream? Did that scene actually happen? We still haven’t seen what exactly happened to Watanuki after he passed away when his surroundings got all reversed, so maybe he’s still in bed o.o
He meets Haruka in his dream, and they have a very philosophical chat, that I’m sure I shall fully understand the meaning once everything is over.
Haruka also tells him that the dream is a world on it’s own, and who do we know that has just bought a ticket to the world of dreams? That’s right, our dear Sakura !!!
I was quite right then, when I guessed that Sakura’s soul would show up in XXXHOLiC. Sure I didn’t know it would be in Watanuki’s dream but, in general therms I meant that we would see her in XXXHOLiC xD This will be interesting!
Things are getting so abstract, but I’ll do my best to put all the pieces together !
I’m sorry if these reviews seemed not-so-great, it’s hard for me to talk about the chapters 4 days after I saw them for the first time. The feelings aren’t that genuine anymore, but at least I hope I pointed anything interesting ^^”

Only now I read the spoilers (didn’t want to get influenced by them). So he remained quiet about the feather in Celes during this whole time, how evil of Fye xD I wonder why… possibly because he wanted to avoid going there?

Su-chan told me that when the spoilers came out, ’cause I though the same I didn’t understand why he killed Kuro and Syao if they were weak than him, but now in the chapter translation I can’t find it Was Su-chan wrong??

*looks around* Am I the first to comment? Masaka… First, I agree about the TRC color spread, although I thought the wings were a painting on the wall…I suppose a reflection makes more sense. Don’t blame yourself for being surprised about the body/soul split, I think a lot of us were, and I like being logical about this stuff too.
I have to wonder if Sakura’s soul will wake up in Watanuki’s dream, next week or at some point, and what they’ll talk about. It will be interesting. I don’t think her body is dead, but we won’t know until we go to Ceres, I suppose. The reason I don’t think her body’s dead is that it seems to me that she wasn’t trying to break Fai’s curse but to avert its effects.
I too have been wondering what Fai lied about. The only possibility I can think of is when he said that he would serve her forever and called her “my princess” in Russian (can’t remember what chapter that was). I don’t know what else he ever told her that was really significant enough to merit Fai’s being so emo about it (other than that he just stabbed her in general).
Why he would have killed Syaoran and Kurogane is another good question, unless there’s more to the curse than we know about. The color spread makes me wonder if Ashura is going to show up soon…are we supposed to take that spread as, metaphorically, evidence that Fai killed/would kill his king too?

Avert it’s effects? You mean she wanted to get stabbed, only, but not die? XD But I find it so weird because a curse is a curse, supposedly there are no exceptions. How can anyone change the effects of someone else’s curse? xD
About his lie, before I read the spoilers I also thought it had something to do with the promises he made to her. But if you haven’t read the spoilers yet, I’ll keep my mouth shut (and you should avoid reading anybody else’s comment as they might contain some spoilers ^^”)

too late, read the spoilers. he wants to give up his right eye too? I guess he wouldn’t be blind forever if they got his left eye back from the clone… man, this just keeps getting more screwed up.
i’ll try to clarify my sakura/curse comments. yuuko said that sakura didn’t want to be stabbed (only sensible) but that the curse was too strong to be avoided, so sakura paid the price to change what happened after: after the curse had been enacted by fai stabbing her. i see that as yuuko saying that sakura wasn’t trying to break fai’s curse but to keep herself and the other two from dying.
yeah, after re-reading the chapter i think fai would just have gone insane too.

Yes. If Sakura hadn’t paid with her luck for Yuuko to grant her wish, Sakura would have died and then Fai, crazy with grief/emotion, would have killed the other two. Sakura’s wish was to change the future so that events happened just as they did in the chapters.

rereading your holic comments, it does seem…ominous that yuuko is sad when she sees watanuki happy. i think he’s going to wind up very unhappy before the end. or maybe at the end, if doumeki isn’t there.

Yeah! She looked very concerned. I think it has to do with Watanuki’s existance thing. Maybe she’s feeling guilty for not being able to do much about it. She definitely knows something that Watanuki does not xD

I don’t think anyone but Yuuko know(s) that the dream world is inside a tube. It probably feels like a normal world to anyone inside. Like the world in xxxholic, the one where Watanuki went & with the speaking flowers (I’m not very up-to-date on xxxholic, sorry ^_^°°).
Also, I agree the fantasy elements tend to get a little too much. When it’s turning into “anything goes”, there’s no fun in making hypothesis anymore.
Since Sakura sacrificed her leg, I’d say her body is or will be alive again, otherwise it wouldn’t be a sacrifice.

I think that yes Fye will get crazy after killing Sakura … But that’s a little strange isn’t it ? Why would he kill the two others, it’s even worse ! But after killing her maybe he just didn’t know how to control himself and killed the two…

I think that Sakura’s body won’t die, because she paied the price with her right leg, and if the body dies, it would have been useless to pay that price, since I don’t think her soul need a right leg to move ? Maybe Sakura’s body will be healed by Ashura-ou (now we know that he is a kind person, well I think so XD), and she’ll find clone!Syaoran in Celes, and he is going to get separate from his body as well to get into that tube with Sakura XD
And it seems that now, xxxHOLiC and Tsubasa are linked more than ever, next chapters that link will grow up and the two series will end together, as expected, but I can’t wait to see how it’ll evolve …
And I hope we’ll see next time what Fye is talking about with that lie … !

Really? XD Put into their positions, I wouldn’t have possibly thought it was a curse. Surely I would think he must have had his reasons, but it might be anything! They are being too polite, in my opinion, for not shaking him and asking “WHAT THE HELL HAVE YOU DONE?” XD

well, i think is going to be C!syaoran, cuz in the first volume he has the clothes and everything o_O, and we have all this S+S images and covers when both have the same clothes,though that dress is like the official dress for Sakura so @_@…, i don’t think is going to be R!syaoran, which is so sad too, and not fair!, R!syaoran& Sakura relationship didn’t developt at all!, now she is gone , and he is Again alone…DD:

In fact, if you think about it, it seems very simple: “well, the problem is that clamp needs to keep Sakura alive but there’s a curse that will kill her. What could they do? Make another double appear, of course! They do it all the time!” xDDDDDDD (this is Clamp, it seems so simple, but we never guess right u_u’)

I’m curious as to how Tsubasa is going to move on from this point especially as I agree with you on the whole ‘Sakura is actually dead’ thing! What’s the point in collecting feathers when there is no Sakura to receive them? Also this current development really rains of Fey Wang’s parade doesn’t it??
As to xxxHOLIC the whole thing was so beautiful to look at! I allways enjoy Clamps random blossom filled pages!! You’re theory on this all being a dream seems a rather solid one and it puts a little sense into the randomness of this chapter!

Same here. I think Yuuko pretty much confirmed that she is truly dead. She didn’t want to get stabbed but she knew she had to die no matter what because she couldn’t avoid the curse so instead focused on changing what happened afterwards which was Fay going crazy and killing Syaoran and Kurogane D: What I’m wondering though is if they’ll somehow be able to “revive” her or put her back into one piece o.0 Also, since the body is “dead”, do you think this will this mess up Fei Wong Reed’s plans?

EXACTLY my thoughts! How the hell is Watanuki’s dream related to the tubey?? All these chapters lately are making me really worried about Watanuki 😦

What I got was that Yuuko can’t actually give Watanuki a real gift because he would have to give her a gift in exchange so all she can give him is an illusion so she feels kinda bad about that. Poor Yuuko. I spent forever trying to figure out what that meant but all I’m getting from it is that Haruka is telling Watanuki he’s only a fragment of Yuuko’s someone else’s dream? DDDDDD: I’m really hoping I’m wrong on that because that would just be too sad. It kind of reminds me of Kakyou though, where he’s basically living in a dream, a world all of his own and so that would mean all the people there are either fake as well or have some magical ability to travel through those worlds…. ehm but that doesn’t make too much sense and is probably unlikely. Then again, so is getting rid of the two main characters and splitting your soul from your body XD

That’s why I was saying that the theory didn’t really work out. But I still get the feeling that Watanuki isn’t real or human or something. But I could be completely wrong. ^^” I’m hoping they’ll start revealing more about his past as well as Fay’s 🙂

I WISH you were right XDDDD But how come you’re not in the “28 volumes boat”? o.o what do you say about Guides 1 and 2 covering volumes 1~7 and 8~14, respectively? What do you say about CLAMP stating that 2/3 of the story has been told? What do you say about the artbook covering the first 14 volumes? o.o
