The Tsubasa/XXXHOLiC influence is evident, but at least the colors remain the same. The cover looks very pretty nonetheless ^___^ *nostalgic feelings*
The cover of Card Captor Sakura THE MOVIE COLLECTION DVD has also been announced by CDJAPAN in here.

Both DVDs are released on May 25th.

no way! i agree that the clothing and background (and Kero-chan!) are very similar, but looking at Sakura carefully, i really think that she’s more like a happy TRC!Sakura…(like the one smiling happily wearing school uniform on one of the covers)

My Suu is very mature xD Innocent, yeah, but mature enough make her own decisions.
About CCS, I still think the art looks very much like the usual CCS ones. The only tiny difference to me was in the eyes and maybe the hair. But the white background, the coloring, her body structure (no thin and long limbs), everything is very CCS-ish, in my opinion ^^”

I’d also like more Oruha art, too. It feels like there isn’t enough of her.
…Actually, it feels like there isn’t enough Clover art in general. CLAMP, I retract my earlier demand for new images of Gingetsu and Ran, and instead demand more CLOVER. Period.

The CCS cover really looks like they blended the CCS style a bit with their newer one, especially in terms of the facial structure. It looks really cute though!

Yo, Chibi-Yuuto!! Sugoi desu wa, I absolutely adore the green cover for the Clover DVD and Suu looks very radiant with the white dress along with the white mechanical wings. She look so angelic for someone longing for true happiness. ^^

OH YES INDEED!! I’m really impressed that Mokona still has the touch of drawing Sakura Kinomoto and Kero-chan after a long time that the series was completed. Mokona can do it all and that is why I love about her so much!! In the words of Tomoyo Daidouji: “Subarashii desu wa!” ^o^
The Tsubasa Artbook cover is pretty awesome too!! Shall look forward to see that soon..

Me too! Like I said in Ca-chan’s comment, to me it looked like an old image that was hidden in the bottom of her drawer xD However, it’s Nekoi-san the one who draws Kero ^^

Hai, hai… *pats his shoulder* Daijoubu, Chibi-Yuuto! I’m pretty sure that very soon Clover will return to complete the remaining two books. I shall be looking forward to that. I love the story so much and how it is written in a most poetic way with a touch of a song of sadness and happiness.

To summarize it, Tsubasa will have an artbook that is going to be released on April 17th. There will be 80 color images in total with CLAMP’s comments on them, a new Omake and a Clear File as a present ^__^

The CCS “Memorial”esque cover works better than the Clover, but I still like seeing Suu posed as if it was the cover to the 5th tank :3
Ooooh… The new Tsubasa book sounds intriguing! I imagine it will mainly be the many images they’ve used for covers & posters. I wonder how much they’ll throw in to tease us of future events/the possible ending!

I was most surprised by the colors ! Different materials make a hell of a different. They bear no similarity with Tsubasa and XXXHOLiC’s strong color schemes.

LOL, yeah, It’s the frame around it that makes it look like a new volume. But I don’t think Suu will feature the cover of volume 5 or 6.

AWWW!!! The CCS cover is adorable! I really missed CCS!Sakura-chan. ;O;!! I think Mokona nailed it with the pose, the flowers, and Kero. the only thing that kind of screams Tsubasa is the hair. The strands seem thicker than they used to be… But then again, maybe it’s the quality of the picture, and I can’t see. XD

I completely agree with you. And it’s almost un-noticeble, it’s very kind of (we only see it because we’re actually LOOKING for it xD). I think she managed very well to re-capture the style of CCS.

And: hahahaha, no, I am *not* very very young in rl and just making fun of you. No really, I am a product of the first manga/anime boom in France that took place in the (very) late eighties / early nineties. First manga were published in 1993/1994 (I had to look it up ^_^°°). I was already a teenager. So: old. Ehehehehhee ^_^°°°
But now Clamp is making characters around my age like Yuuko, so it’s alright. *lol*

I had CONSIDERED buying the CLOVER one. But then I remember that it won’t play in my DVD XD So, by now, I won’t buy it. But good thing it’s not a limited edition, so I can buy whenever I want in the future ^^

Still, let’s say that I don’t know that this image has been recently drawn. You could EASILY fool me by saying that it’s from 2000 and I wouldn’t doubt.
And since you touched that subject, Mokona said that she had a hard time to paint that image because the ink she used for CCS is no longer manufacturated xDDDDDDDD I believe she used Kobato’s ink, which is similar.

SO THAT IS WHAT IT IS!…., that is indeed what the color has. If you look at it closely you can see the colours are “harder” than previous CCS ilustrations, the techinques must be the same of course. Even tough CCS and Kobato have similarities in the color usage and all that, I always thought that Kobato´s colouring was like CCS but AFTER TRC… XD Now I know is because of the materials used, but still CCS one were way more light and they were able to use a lot way more water to transport the colour (or wordked better? or maybe was just Tsubaki´s hand XD) at painting… (or so I want to believe XD) Thank for that info too!

WORD! Its still much lighter than TRC, but a bit darker than CCS. It’s more “shiny”. If you look at Kero, he is YELLOW !! XDDD
As for Kobato being like CCS but AFTER TRC, I disagree xD I think Kobato has it’s own style, which is a bit darker than CCS, that’s it xD

,they used the same style but during that time they were busy with Clover and CCS.

Mokona normally uses etching or liquid paper in eyes of charactes in drawing but in tsubasa and xxxholic she made it very different from her ussual style,if CLAMP resumes X Mokona will be back on her usual artstyle.
