CLAMP NEWS !!


It was announced in this year’s ComiCon that Kobato. would also be published in Newtype USA later this year. Today they formally announced that the first chapter will premiere in the June issue of the magazine, out on June 1st. Additionally, the issue will feature a CLAMP interview.

– Next chapters scheduled (red means new):

03/28 – Shonen Magazine #17 – Chapter 148 (on sale).
04/04 – Shonen Magazine #18 – Chapter 149.
04/11 – Shonen Magazine #19 – No Tsubasa scheduled.
04/18 – Shonen Magazine #20 – Chapter 150 – 3 color pages – Beginning of tankohon 20.
04/25 – Shonen Magazine #21 & #22 – Chapter 151.

Good to see we’re back at 3 color pages for the beginning of the tank (I prefer like that). But I confess I was expecting a CLAMP interview to be published in that issue. Too bad.

03/26 – Young Magazine #17 – No XXXHOLiC scheduled.
04/02 – Young Magazine #18 – No XXXHOLiC scheduled.
04/09 – Young Magazine #19 – No XXXHOLiC scheduled.
04/16 – Young Magazine #20 – Chapter 133 – 4 color pages – Beginning of tankohon 12.

In addiction to Yui Makino’s guest appearance on April 10th, it was announced today that the seiyuu for Watanuki and Lelouch, Fukuyama Jun, will be attending as a guest as well on the episode that will air on May 8th of Komugikotoride no Yonshimin.

• Featuring CLAMP:

A report of the event CLAMP in 3-D LAND DEBUT! will be available starting today at the official website of CLAMP in 3-D LAND and also at Manga Yomo! (very nice report!).

As of now, the official website of CLAMP in 3-D LAND has not been updated with the report yet, but Manga Yomo!’s version is already available here.

• CLAMP in 3-D LAND:

– Much bigger sample images from the Figurines of the upcoming 3rd Series (the ones above) can be found here at Manga Yomo!’s report.

– A prototype of what the Vampire Fye figurine will look like can be seen here, also from Manga Yomo!’s report.

– ontogenesis-san scanned the package, the special pamphlet and phone-card that came with the Box of the 2nd Series and you can check all that in her flickr. She also clarified some doubts about purchasing the Figurines:

You can buy individual packs, containing only one random Figurine (you can’t tell which one until you open the pack). These cost 525 yens.

You can also buy a Box that comes with 10 “packs” inside, and thus, 10 Figurines in total. Which means you’ll get duplicate Figurines. The Box costs 5250 yens.

Here’s a pic of the Box and the packs:

When you buy this Box, you get also a special pamphlet and a phone-card (you can see scans of those on the link I posted to ontogenesis-san’s flikr). In the special pamphlet, there are the coupons that you have to collect in order to trade for the Vampire Fay Figurine later.

• Happy Birthdays!

Being April 1st, there’s a full list of birthdays worth mentioning. First and foremost, CLAMP! The group celebrates in this month 18 years of professional manga-creation!

18 years ago, the first chapter of RG Veda was published in the 3rd issue of South magazine, and the world was starting to know CLAMP. Congratulations! I can only hope the best for their career.

Also celebrating their birthdays today are:
– Sakura (CCS)
– Sakura-hime (TRC)
– copy!Syaoran (TRC)
– Watanuki
– Seishirou (fake birthday xD)
– CLAMP-NET.COM (why not? XD) celebrates 10 years of online life! Long-life to this great website xD and I still can’t believe how they haven’t changed the layout yet

  2. Those figures are too damn cute. I’m really torn as to who’s cuter in this, Ashura or Subaru. Because yeah, I want to pinch their cheeks. So I wonder who’s going to be in set 4; have they given any indication?

      • Mostly I just want to know if Hokuto will pop up. 😉 I’m keeping my fingers crossed for her because we were cheated in that sense with the Kiseki figures. Thank you for the larger pictures though — they really are lovely.

    • No, that doesn’t necessarily mean anything.

      The only difference is that this double issue is a “combo” issue that merges both issues. There must probably be a holiday in Japan in that week, so they release both issues in one.

      On the other hand, the next issue (23) will only come out 2 weeks later.

  9. So this means that I have a big possibility to have Fay’s vampire figure ;___; (tears of joy). However, I’m still thinking that it will be very hard that they send it to the other side of the world XDD

        Well you see, I was so lucky to find a person that can buy the box for me and bring it where I live. So, I think that there are some stores that bought it on Animate, and then they sell it in other countries.

                    • Yeah, I can understand you. I have to do BECA hours (work hours) to pay a part of my studies and all is expensive in the university. I have to made my meal or something to avoid spend all my money there. Also, the place where I live isn’t the big thing in anime and manga. As I said before, I just have luck.

    • Yeah! We could only see it because of the high-res pics ! I love the fact that they are adding as much special little treats as they can (for example, we have not 1, but 3 characters: Watanuki, Black Mokona and Mugetsu!)

      Yes, it does xD I messed things up a little, I thought it was an one-shot and the first professional work published by CLAMP, but no. The RG Veda ~DISCO VERSION~ is a doujinshi released on 1988, it has nothing to do with the one published in South. And yes, it MUST be full of crack xDDDD

      WORD! However, that was a mistake of mine, RG Veda ~Disco Version~ exists, but it’s still a doujinshi (and it must be a real crack one xD), released in 1988. The one published in South is not ~Disco Version~.

  25. Yo, Chibi-Yuuto!! Arigatou gozaimasu for this month’s CLAMP news and updates. So only one week break for Tsubasa and then it resumes. Kakkoi!! Still, we have to wait for HOLiC to come back. I can’t wait to see the events in there.

    Oh yes indeed!! ^^ TRC with 3 color pages while HOLiC will have 4. Look like when HOLiC will feature 4 color pages, it may mean that it’s a way to say “Gomen nasai” for making the fans to wait 4 weeks. XDD

    As for the CLAMP in 3-D figurines…there are three that I like the most. Watanuki with the Black Mokona and it looks like Mugetsu (the kitsune) is on his shoulder. Kawaii!! I also adore the Sumomo/Kotoko figurine; Sumomo may not have the tambourine, but the whistle is hontou kawaii too! ^///^ And I like Subaru with those clothes that reminds me from one of the covers from Tokyo Babylon. The colors are well matched.

    Finally, I would like to wish a “Tanjoubi Omedetou Gozaimasu” to CLAMP, Sakura Kinomoto, Sakura-hime, Watanuki Kimihiro, and perhaps…the other Syaoran. To celebrate this special occasion, here are a huge bag of Yukito’s homemade cookies and bottles of sake for each one. Just don’t give the sake to Sakura-hime and the other Syaoran. Kidding!! Kampai!

    • I really love that image too! I wonder if they’ll make a “normal” Fye? I hope not xD (that way we can save room for other characters)

      Weird thing about the color pages is that they used the kanjis for “door”, while for XXXHOLiC they used “meter” (not sure about the meanings here xD). So I’m thinking that all 3 pages are going to be illustrations, instead of 1 colored page of manga and a spread. This happened before during the Tokyo arc when we had Sakura and Syaoran as kids in one single colored page, and the clone and Sakura on the spread. Let’s see o.o

    I found something really interesting on CLAMP in 3-D Land page. I try to translate it (so maybe it’s not 100% right)

    Some are old news, but there is something interesting.

    Series purchase privilege

    Series 1 to 4 purchase privilege: Fay’s vampire figure
    Series 1 to 8 purchase privilege: A different content of 1 to 4 purchase privilege (oh thanks, it clears all my doubts ¬¬).

    About the details of how to get the privileges, coming soon there will be a report on the page.

    Also they talk about the privilege pamphlet and the card that come with the box of the second series of this figures. Moreover, they mention that this stuff is a limited one. (They almost wish luck to the customers to find it XDD).

    Finally, the most important thing on this news are the little, tiny, picture of Fay’s vampire figure. So, here it is.

    But among these 10 you get two complete sets of five? Or they are completely random and you could get, for example, 3 Shoran, 5 Rikuo and so on?
    I hope at least there is a complete set in each box while the other five figures are random copies…
