The scans are up at the Room of Requirement since yesterday night, but the last 24 hours have been real crazy and stressful, and I hadn’t had the time to comment on them.
First off, I would like to comment on the “blending/merging”…
It’s the first time we hear that term, but I confess I had thought about this possibility before. Maybe not a “physical” blending, but yeah, sharing an eye is already some kind of “blending/merging”.
However, for the first time I considered the fact that CLAMP might even go even further with that. Some kind of 2 halfs of the same whole? If one dies the one goes along? Okay, maybe that’s going too far xD
Or maybe, who knows if they’re going to literarlly BLEND into one body XD That would be crazy, but never-before-seen !
I was very glad that CLAMP justified the fact that Doumeki could see Papa Fox and Little Foxy (and the ghost girl) because of that blending. I remember I posted here if that meant anything and I got some pretty negative answers from the comments XDDD But seems like it WAS important, after all.
And now the thing that made thousands of people go OMG!!! xD

I think the 2 questions that every reader (including me) must have thought was:
1 – WHY THE HECK is it so small?
2 – WHAT THE HELL is it doing with Yuuko?
Is that the real thing? So it’ll just… enlarge or something? Or will Sakura and Syaoran shrink? *Alice in Wonderland, anyone? xD* Or is it just a sample? We know Yuuko loves those, she has one of Sakura’s staff xDDD
God @_@ I’m so lost…. and I’m not even going to mention the thing Yuuko said in the end about “the end that is not going to be the end” xDD
It would be very nice if we find out that Yuuko had anything to do with putting Sakura and Syaoran inside that tube.

About the tube…I don’t know, I think it could be some kind of reminder for us all…”Don’t forget that tube scene you saw at the beginning of TRC, because it means something!”. Maybe it doesn’t mean that Yuuko’s involved with putting S and S in the tube, the fact that a smaller version of it is in Yuuko’s shop. (Oh, well, Yuuko is involved with everything that happens, to be true…)

The tube i like the idea of the french girl in tsubsa forums about in it is the memories of syao clon of Sakura!!!!, and is two parts may be could get in the Sakura’s luck???

If the tube is indeed the physical manifestation of what Sakura and Syaoran had to give up in the beginning of the series, then that whole tube scene could have been symbolic. That’s just speculation, though.

I never threw away that possibility entirely. I have strong reasons to believe that wasn’t symbolic (because Sakura foresaw it), but I wouldn’t be surprised if in the end we find out it was only symbolic.

I was thinking a similar thing since it is with Fai’s markings and Kuro’s sword. Perhaps it’s the physical embodiment of Sakura’s memorys of Syaoron being separated from her, with the sprouting of her wings. As for Sakura’s vision, are visions always direct images? Or can they be metaphors for the future as well?
But I agree, Yuuko does have a lot of stuff, and she definitely has a better idea of what’s going on than little old me ^^; I’ve always thought the clip at the very beginning of the series would tie into events at the very end, and I wonder if they threw the tube in there to make sure we haven’t forgotten about it… or….

I’m in shock too. I’m completely lost about what Yuuko and Clow really know. That tube is in Yuuko’s shop for one purpose (one future strange-hitsuzen event, for being more precisely), like everything there;
but I really wonder how or what did Sakura and Syaoran to end in that thing!
And then Kohane, I really didn’t expect that she was going to have a relevant rol in Holic; she seems to know what’s going to happen, and something about Watanuki’s mystery.

I really don’t know what to think of the tube. Part of me thinks that it may hold the memories and relationship of Sakura and Syaoran and the beginning of Tsubasa is just symbolism. Or it could be a replica, or something else entirely. My theory cap is broken.
One more week and another break for Holic, hopefully something happens in Tsubasa during that time. -_-

I really liked how Yuuko & Mokona were talking about how Watanuki had changed and then in the end of the chapter he was being so decisive in a rather Doumeki way. Hearts for both of them.
I don’t know anything about the tube, really, but the fact that Yuuko has it makes me feel better. I don’t suppose the beginning shot of the manga could have been the future Sakura saw, could it? Although I do tend to think that that opening image confirms that she will, indeed, go off alone. Still not a good idea.
I wonder if Kohane’s mom is about to get what’s coming to her. Kohane looked unusually creepy when she told her mom that she could still see things.

If we looked back to previous chapters on Holic, it seems that they need to be prepared for the certain event. In Spider Arc and Himawari Arc, we noticed the dramatic change on Watanuki: he never chased by the evil spirit despite of Doumeki’s absence. When Doumeki started to share half of his eyesight to Watanuki, his vision improved. When he shared his blood, he rarely see bad spirit, but he did see it (ghost girl) the spirit didn’t chased him anymore. I think Yuuko knows that in the Doumeki will rescue Watanuki in the end.
I know Kohane made a fangirl mode there (blending…blending) but when I read holic (previous ’til the recent) again, it gave me chills and all the things happened are hitsuzen.

Yeah I think the blood exchange was vital to this changing, maybe that was what Yuuko planned for Watanuki ever since the beginning. Maybe his wish will grant in a short period of time now!

because this is quite interesting, I’m expecting Watanuki will gained powers but I was surprised that Doumeki also had an effect. I think this what they called the blending now. It’s like their inseperable now (shippy comment)
but I can’t concentrate on “them”, I’m worried what will happened to them. It really scary.

there’s something it bothered me… remember that Sakura will take out of her “luck”, then if Watanuki wishes something (probably to take out of his curse, or giving luck to Himawari) then in exchange Watanuki will accompany Sakura through her journey…. since Yuuko said that Sakura must journey with someone right?

Hey, I was reading inarikami’s translation, and she had a note that when Yuuko mentions Watanuki’s body on pg 04, it isn’t the kanji for body, it’s the kanji for CORPSE. O-O So, does that mean that Watanuki is dead? I getting rebirth vibes out of this. My theory is that Watanuki died in the crash with his parents and brought back to life somehow, and the method was falling apart without Doumeki.

i mean their relationship is somehow similar. he found the woman lonely, and he was to meet her again no matter what since he promised so… which is similar to Kohane’s case if you ask me ^^ as for evil influence(XD), i don’t think so, but if i remember it right, it was hinted that Watanuki willingly formed a bond with her and this will seriously affect both of them… i wonder what kind of influence is that? 😛

Yuuko is only keeping the model of the tube Clow and her did before working on the real thing.
I’m so hoping to see other things she keeps in her backstore come back under the spotlight. I guess Yama-to and Shura-to will be send to Syaoran and Kuraogane sooner or later (their forms are so fitting thoses wariors’ preferences) and I’m hoping to see the Zantetsuken red bat again. Maybe in Watanuki’s hands, it would be fitting with Doumeki fighting technique of the bow without arrows. ^_~ And who’s going to drink Ashura’s youth potion ?

How old is Sakura-chan in the manga ?
Hi all,
Since years, I have been puzzled with the age of Sakura-chan.
If anyone could help this would be really really great !!!
I wonder how old is Sakura at the beginning of the story ?
Since 4 complete years pass during the manga,
and since she changes for a college uniform at the end of the story,
she should turn 12 at the end and 8 at the beginning, I am right ??
(vol 1–> Japanese academic year has started since 2 months, so we’re in june.
At the end of this volume, she finishes her august vacations.
vol 2 –> December, St-Valentines
vol 3 –> Spring no 2 begins
vol 4 –> summer camp p.144 October
vol 5 –> organizes december show
vol 6 –> most of the story is short after the show
vol 7 –> looks like the third spring
vol 8 –> winter again, and St-Valentines
vol 9 –> p.51 looks like the fourth spring
vol 10 –> light uniform
vol 11 –>
vol 12 –> at the end: fitth spring, new college uniform so here she should turn 12)

Isn’t she 10 at the beginning? She’s at 4th grade if I’m not mistaken.
Then it would be indeed 14 if you assume that 4 years have passed.

I think she is 12 at the end, since she has a new uniform which I assumed to correspond to her passage to japanese college. From my understanding, they start japanese college at 12 and get 13 in that academic year.
I have a french manga version, in which she starts in grade CM1, but I think that’s a mistake. Do you have the english version? If so, what grade does she start in? I guess we would need the original japanese version to know her real grade.
In summary, whatever her age, she passes 4 years in elementary before going to college. So I think the manga starts school in 3rd grade.
Also, I assumed she is the youngest in her year since she is born the 1st of april and that’s there age reference. Or should she be the oldest ?

Indeed xD It doesn’t make much sense Yuuko having just a replica of it (WHAT for? XD) I’m also leaning towards the theory that it’s something related to Sakura and Syaoran. Their bond, her or his memories, etc. Specially because it’s besides the other 2 prices the guys paid, so that would be the 3rd price, if you follow the logic.
