So, it’s New Year and nobody is at the streets. Even Chiroru is closed until the 3rd and KOBATO DECIDES TO WAIT (I MEAN, SIT AND WAIT) UNTIL THE REOPENING ! XDDDD OMG ! Thankfully, Ioryogi is around xD
So not a single store is open because they are enjoying their holidays… and with nobody at the streets there can be no tests… and with no tests there can be no Bottle to gain… and with no Bottle Kobato can’t get to the place she wants…
*angst face, sad eyes with big eyelashes covering half page*
But then ! She finds someone ! And it’s not an ordinary someone, it’s our dear XXXHOLiC’s grandma, Yuuko’s old mentor ! *___* I was so happy to see her, and I didn’t expect CLAMP would connect Kobato.’s world with another CLAMP World so soon !
The old lady’s house is pretty much the same as the one of XXXHOLiC, as well as her fortunetelling tool, I think we can safely assume that Kobato. is in the same world as XXXHOLiC (which is the same as CCS, GD, SDS).
Therefore, my theory that Chitose and Icchan are the ones who adopted Watanuki becomes stronger *_____* Chitose’s apartment complex showed up in the following series:
– Chobits
– XXXHOLiC
– Kobato (Temporary), but probably will appear in Kobato. too
– Tsubasa
– Murikuri XD
Chobits’ one is from an alternative world that is the same as Angelic Layer. But CLAMP doesn’t want to connect that World to any of their other Worlds because that could be dangerous, after all, they don’t know HOW MUCH it’ll take for that future to happen. So they isolated it.
Tsubasa’s one is in Hanshin and Arashi and Sorata run it, so it’s another isolated case.
But XXXHOLiC’s and Kobato’s (and Murikuri’s too, why not? XD), I was quite sure it was the same apartment complex, and now I’m even more ^^
I’d like to know in which XXXHOLiC timeline Kobato. is set… I think it’s probably the same. I hope we’ll catch a glimpse of Watanuki in the future chapters ^^
Okay I rambled too much (that’s what happens when the subject turns to Chitose’s side ¬¬).
But back to the chapter, cool grandma TOTALLY pawned Kobato in all of her games xDDDDDD I can see now where Yuuko got her Mahjong passion from XD
The grandma then kinda of predicted something about Kobato’s future that she couldn’t hear (only the readers)… something about changing her wish O.o Oh and she also kind of recognized Ioryogi, like when she did with Black Mokona XDDD
Much love for the Obaa-chan, she’s one wise woman. I hope she can show up later. So what are we gonna have for the next chapter? Kobato helping out at Green Drugstore? XD

My thoughts on the time line: Hmm, well, Chobits and Angelic Layer have to be in a separate world from Kobato. simply because Freya and Elda are human in Kobato. (both versions) (and have different names) and are persocoms in Chobits. Not to mention all the potential problems combining Chobits/AL and X. XD
So then, I’d say Kobato. is probably in the main universe too, with a version of Chitose and Icchan adopting Watanuki. 🙂

Nothing confirmed yet o.o Although I hope so… Ohkawa said that their “fantasy” works are all part of the same universe… but what exactly is a “fantasy” work to them? XD Almost all their works have a little bit of magic/paranormal elements in it ^^”

Sadly, I’m using the Del Rey translation, which should be a sin in itself. Volume 1, pg 162/163.

Oh I see… in the brazilian translation, she’s just saying that this “medium” is suffering from the exact same reason of that woman, who Yuuko just grant the wish for. I think Del Rey’s translation is slightly wrong O.o

Green Drugstore is near Yuuko’s store because Watanuki bought her a medicide there.
His house is near Yuuko’s shop.
Therefore, Kobato’s house is near the Drugstore XDDDDD

I wrote once in an italian forum that Kobato’s world was the same as xxxHolic’s because i noticed the benches. The park where Watanuki and the others went in that chapter beginning with coloured Yuuko playing baseball (sorry, i really don’t remember the number because it’s been so long >.< ) is the same as the one we saw in the "old" Kobato chapters (the Sunday GX ones). The benches were very similar, if not the same. Shaped as stretching cats 😀

It’s not a series. It’s seven little non-sense stories in 14 pages published in the Young Magazine after the ending of Chobits, but before the begining of xxxHolic.
