The covers look very cute, don’t they? Apparently it’ll be 24 pages of “scenario” (notice that CD booklets have smaller pages, of course). I don’t know if that includes original manga or just the transcript of the story.

I watched the 19-sai PV yesterday. The bug part was nasty, and then the stalkery-camera part was just weird.
The cover is pretty cute. I’m lovin’ the symbolism with Watanuki and Doumeki covering their eyes.

I actually wondered about that when the year popped up at the end. His official website doesn’t list his year of birth, so… Maybe he really was 19 in 1985.

Now, here’s the question… Is Fai supposed to be a school nurse, or a science teacher? I guess we’ll find out when the Drama CD comes out.

It looks like he has his hand on one of those things at the doctor’s office to measure people, but it makes no sense cos Kuro is sitting down 😀 and Sakura has a tape measure…? Weird. Syaoran looks like a bunny with his teeth like that.
The video for 19sai was… interesting. If they tried to air something like that here, people would have heart attacks.

I love the song 19Sai, and will NEVER watch the video again. It was just so wrong. >_< The stalker guy sexually assaults her, and then she willing has sex with him? WTF. I thought we got over rape fantasies like that. It's sickening, and not just because I'm a prude.
But god, the drama CD looks adorable. ^^ I really hope somebody rips it for us to listen to.

It’s a little bit of a raunchy PV, but I really don’t think it’s meant to be as dirty as some feel it is. IMO, the whole video seems to to me to go like this:
The guy gets in the elevator with a famous girl and he is really obsessed with her (like guys are of idols in Japan) and the video is his mind playing out his fantasy. I really don’t see the video as being dirty or ‘hentai’ and I don’t feel the director or Suga were trying to turn anyone off, I just think they were trying to protray a side of ‘fandom’ that goes a little too far. I’m just trying to show people a better way to look at the video than completely blowing it off as ‘gross’ or ‘wrong’. Also, I don’t want people to get the wrong impression of Suga because he’s a wonderful artist and I think everyone should listen to him. His music is awesome, and this song shows it. The video makes me wonder what the lyrics to the song are…
Anyway, I’m really happy I got to see this video and didn’t have to wait for it to be released when the single comes out. I also wanted to promote my site: Sugar. I´d like to add (because his opinion was very diplomatic) that the video is art. If you´ve never had a sexual fantasy before, raise your hand… why does it look disgusting on the video and it doesn´t in the mind? Think about it. And do not forget that everybody is human, and human beings have sexual fantasies because sex is part of their reality. If the video was expressed that way it means that a lot of people agreed for it to come true. So it means it exists, you admit it or not. And although it is not widely possible to talk about that, it has always existed since long and people have hidden it because they´re afraid of what other people may think. Shikao-san is an artist, and it´s his role to express things, and that was perfectly done with the song and the video (they match perfectly).

1st, thanks for the comments, they are really interesting and clarifing. I’m becoming more and more a Suga Shikao fan and this video didn’t make like him less.
2nd, I never said that it was disgusting or anything… In fact, I couldn’t find words to describe it (because I’m way too shy to talk about that xDDD), the only word I could find was “freak” XD.
But I definitely agree that is a totally natural/human thing, specially for the people of that age, so the video is all clear. But to me is a little unconfortable to speak about it, specially in -here-, it’s a way-too-public place, you never know who’s reading it so the circunstances aren’t favorables. That’s why I couldn’t find words to describe it.
I was a more reluctant about the video before, but right now, I’ve seen some comments that it might be all of his imagination (it could well not be, too) and that changed my mind about it.

In fact, you could say that the girl masturbating is actually his nineteen-year-old counsciousness (because before you get into adulthood, you´re usually ashamed of sex. The girl is very shy, and she´s doing it hidden from other people, like it´s something wrong or something). So you could say that he caught his 19sai “in the act” and decided to show her that things changed and that she shouldn´t feel afraid of exposing herself because sex is good. 19sai consents and *oh* he is a man now, not a freaky 19-year-old-afraid-of-exposing-his-body anymore.
I think it´s all about the “changing” I mentioned in some other post in that CLAMP NOW livejournal, when the lyrics were translated by i_am_so_cool.

That change from teenage from adulthood is something as shocking as it is in the video (I´m not gonna say it´s not shocking to see the guy photographing the girl when she pushing him away), but if you take only the visual into consideration and do not compare it to the lyrics, it looks creepy. If you join them, it´s art.
I´d reccommend people to get a translation of the song and watch it again, trying to get the meaning behind it. It´s probably gonna look way different.

The boy makes a very weird faces when Shikao-san sings “My hated 19 years old”. It looks like he´s really making fun of his 19-year-old self. You also have the worm/butterfly theme, to reinforce the changing. In the beggining, the boy is admiring the worms (witha freaky expression, you can even notice some pimples on his face – “The hated face of 19 years old”.). In the end, when he leaves the elevator, he is admiring the butterfly (with a normal face expression).

But you’re so good at it ! The butterfly refearences, I know Suga Shikao really adores butterflies, but it actually FITS. The very first shot at the boy’s room shows the cocoon, which represents Teenagers (including himself), that are neither kids (worms) nor adults (butterflies) yet, ah, so perfect !
When he enters the elevator, he remembers how he used to fancy her (or maybe how they -did- have a sexual relation).

Maybe both, but Sanagi also deals with butterflies (Sanagi itself means the stage where the butterfly is at the cocoon) and the lyrics for that song were written WAY before xxxholic’s movie was in the plan (they re-released it for the movie).
But knowing that xxxholic has to do with butterflies, maybe he wrote the lyrics based on it.
