Fandom really is amazing… of course there’s the sad part with the rude people and crazy fans xD But the good part is so worthy it ! It’s amazing how you can find amazing, kind people. One of them I just met ^^ A CLAMP fan under the name of drawcomic e-mailed me saying that she had Kobato 5 !
Occasionally I get e-mails like that, I met a lot of great people because of that, mostly being still my friends. They offer not only files but good links and CLAMP stuff in general. Thank you all very muchly, I love it and please keep doing it ^___^
Anyway, the long awaited chapter 5, of 7, of Kobato is here and I couldn’t be happier to share it with you ^__^
Just remembering you all that this is not a *new* Kobato chapter, it’s still on that break on Japan. This chapter was released months ago, we just didn’t have it yet.

Kobato is always wearing hat no matter what, so what better than a splash page with Kobato trying out different hats? XD
For those who don’t remember what’s happening, Sayaka has a huge debt with some evil guys and Kobato wants to help her out gathering money from the bazaar that will be held on the school of Chitose’s daughters.
I don’t know exactly what’s happening but I guess Kobato suggested the idea to Sayaka but at first she didn’t accept, then she changed her mind and decided to do it?
The kids from the kindergarten are so very cute ! ^o^ Specially Toshihiko (he’s the one from page 12, far left, with the funny hair xD) >.<
Fujimoto is clearly changing his feelings towards Kobato. I guess he's very hard to trust somebody because Sayaka is the kind of person who trusts anyone and she had suffered from that before.
Now, the guy from the last page, omg, what a cool guy !!! flowright-san once told me that this guy was a mix between Fye + Seishirou. And she’s definitely right !!
He’s probably the guy from the phone call from chapter 4, the debt collector. I like him already ! XD In spite of all he seems to be a good person.
Did anyone notice the mail address to Kobato’s editorial department? We could use this to send letters to ask for Kobato o.o”
Anyway, if would be really really great if someone could translate this chapter… because one of the reasons why drawcomic-san gave me the scans is because she hoped someone could translate it ^_^

Yeah… most people say “Oh, Kobato? That story is too easy. Nothing for me.” – and they didn’t even see one page of it.
But easy stories can be as beautiful as complicated. I love Kobato the same way I love X. ^w^v

I loved the panel (very early on) with the flowers around Kobato. It reminds me of Cardcaptor Sakura when she’s having lovey-Yukito moments 🙂
She looks like she recognises the man on the last page. Possibly he’s some sort of romantic stir-up? Or a conflict of characters between him and Fujimoto? The possibilities are endless… Yet I can’t help but shake the feeling that he’s up to no good. Funny how you can build up an idea of a character from one page that you can’t even read 😀

Kobato is very like CCS in some aspects ^^ specially the flowers around ^^ it also reminded me of CCS ^__^
I think she recognizes the guy from what he said to her… because she talked to him on the phone on chapter 4, remember? It must be him, the guy who wants the money from Sayaka.

The parallels with CCS are quite strong. Starting with the main character; an innocent young energetic girl with her mysterious stuffed toy-like companion ^.^ Still, CCS is my favourite of all the CLAMP series, so the fact that they’ve captured that CCS feel (but with a slightly darker twist) means that I’ve instantly become addicted to Kobato ~ I just wish they’d publish it more regularly/more/again/at all…
I suspect you may be right & it is him from the phone call, but I hope it’s not… after all, Kobato’s whole past is a complete mystery, so he could be anybody from her past. Saying that, I’ve just gone back to look at that page & she does look worried, so I’m agreeing more and more with your theory 🙂

Indeed he seems like a really nice guy… and he called Sayaka by her first name…
On that same chapter, 5th, she tells Kobato that she knows Fujimoto ever since he was 7 ^^ Him and “that person”…. I’m assuming here that “that person” is the mysterious guy. I think they were childhood friends.
Fujimoto has a lot of Syaoran indeed !!

So I think at my bookstore perhaps they only order a few of specific magazines that are prone to sell, so maybe they’ve had Sunday GX all along and it’s always sold out before I got there. But now that I know it’s there, I can’t wait for Kobato to come back! Because now I can buy it! XD

The moment I saw the debt collector I thought he’s typically CLAMPish: mysterious and technically a “bad guy” but with a kind expression on his face. But these types of characters are always interesting, let’s see how he develops!

And the cool guy from the last page XD I'm so curious about him.
