I have not much to say since it wasn’t a very visual chapter (not to mention it’s 4 pages smaller too), I do need the translations, but they are basically apologizing (which is nice) and realizing about Fei Wan.
What I really wanted to point out is Syaoran’s recent resemblance to Kamui. I was thinking that in the last chapter, the scene he apologized while fainting. And now, he’s even more Kamui-ish. He’s even sleeping in a BIG bed with a BIG pillow with BIG curtains above him xDDDDDDD
Even Sakura was so Kotori-like in this chapter ^^”
Anyway, I think it was a bad print or something before because it seems that Fei Wan doesn’t have any tattoo, now that we can take a closer look.
Chapter 99 certainly marks a big spot in Tsubasa’s life. CLAMP (i.e. Ohkawa) loves numbers, so I really think something big will be happening at big chapter 100. Not to mention that, hopefully, we enter in Tsubasa’s last “phase”. Bring the last 50 chapters !

Ah, I don’t think it was a bad print before, concerning Fei’s tattoo. Maybe CLAMP just forgot to draw it (they’ve done it many times with Kurogane’s scar, so we know it’s a possibility). I dunno. But Syaoran does look quite Kamui-esque. Maybe CLAMP’s trying to draw parallels between the series or something… Hm…

total theory here.
we’ve seen that Fai’s fairly intuitive about situations, so… perhaps when he touched the book and we got the lovely little sparkles, it was his magic, not the book’s at work. so maybe he caught a glimpse of what Syaoran might have seen in the book (ie Kurogane’s memories)

I personaly thought the shiny thng around the book was a defensive protection oozing from it -like a non-X kind of kekkai XD-, not something provoked by Fye’s magic.
[raises her “Eriol for 100!” sign] Sorry, old habit of mine. Meanwhile, it would be could if the vampire twins lived in that country and we stumble to them next chapter.

God, I sure hope not. Evil!minion!Hokuto would scare the shit out of me. Besides, how “vampiresque” is CLAMP’s concept of a vampire anyway? In some fiction works, vampires don’t morph into bats. That’s more of a Dracula thing.
In Kimihiro.net boards they were discussing about bat sightings and its symbolism and Fei Wang and all that jazz. Maybe you’d find it interesting.

One thing is for sure, for me at least, I’m not hoping to see Subaru and Hokuto as being the vampires anymore… not as I was before… Ohkawa kind of hinted in an interview they are not really the vampires Seishirou is looking for… but more like a WAY to get into them (the vampires).

well, i was implying that the magic sparkles we saw was fai’s magic reacting the magic of the book. which leads me to wonder if fai knows a little of what syaoran saw in the book and that’s why he decided to leave syaoran and kurogane alone to talk.
on the other hand, like i said, fai has been fairly intuitive about people, so maybe not.

Ahhhh, first off, I don’t want this world to end before something else happens!!!!! TT-TT I as so excited about it when I first saw Lecourt(?) as a Sherlock Holmes fanatic I am, and I thought of Eriol as well and everything and… Ok, Kurogane’s story was HEART-TOUCHING but pleeeeaaaase! Don’t do this to me! T_T I want more Victorian-world interactiooon!

The 50 chapters thing is not CLAMP-official… it’s really hard for them to talk about the length of their stories. But follow my thought:
1 Anime Season – Adapted vols 1 to 7
And we all know it’ll be 3 seasons long, so:
2 Anime Season – Will Adapt vols 8 to 14
3 Anime Season – Will Adapt vols 15 to 21
7 per each, basically.
Also, vol 7 finished at chapter 49, number 8 started by chapter 50.
So it could be 150 (50 for each 7 vols). I’m not saying is a 100% accurate thing, it could well be 150-and-something, 160… but I think is around that number ^_~

Well, I would’t believe it, because CLAMP and the anime version don’t have much relationship ^^UU. By the way, I think Tsubasa will take a long time, so much to explain and new questions… maybe chapter 100 will reveal something interesting to us. Maybe something about Fei Wan… by how the chapter.99 ends, but it’s just what I think.
Summing up, Tsubasa will be long, more than X and more than 150 chapters, just a personal opinion (and maybe my wish xDD).

That’s almost a year and a half, wich mean summer 2007, maybe two years if Clamp continue to take breaks her and there. ^_~
As for the 150 chapters theory, it was pretty much confirmed by the three seasons of the anime, but we had hints before; Sakura had 14 feathers on her wings in chapter 1, so there’s likely 14 feathers to get, if not 12 like on the tsubasa logo (which would mean the two third of the feathers have been gathered by Sakura-tachi and Seishirou). So that would lead to a 20/21 books long series, which would be quite long for Clamp.
(Yeah, I tend now for a 20 books long series as the chapters 50-99 are cramped in 6 books instead of 7)

Kuro-chan gonna be mad, I bet. He will be more serious from now on about finding Sakura feather. (Actually, he’s always serious ^^)But I wonder why CLAMP reveal Kuro-past in this world? What will happened in this world connecting to his past??? Or maybe Fei will appear XD? But I don’t think CLAMP let him show up fast. Oi~ I look forward chapter 100. I want some tragic stories about Fye… Seishirou… Subaru… or Eriol too please show up!!! I can’t wait. XXXHolic will be next week oi~ One more thing, whose is the nameless book? Everybody almost forget about it. Although Fei’s symbol look like a bat, but I don’t think it has relation with the twin vampire (I hope they won’t have any relation TT__TT. I don’t want to see Subaru turn into a bad guy). It’s just because CLAMP like that. The apologizing scene in this chapter is nice. Syaoran look like Kamui because they’re responsible persons ^^. Maybe Tsubasa will be longer than X? Let’s wait ^^

Twins?
What if the vampire twins… were the 2 Shaolans? I know they don’t look like vampires, but :
1) Fei Wang Reed’s symbol is a bat… And the second Shaolan has it on him
2) They are twins.
3) Shaolan met Seishirou… And we now Clamp loves the idea of fate… Moreover, if Shaolan is the one Seishirou is looking for, sure they’ll meet again.
And speaking of Eriol… Am I the only one who has seen Spinel Sun in chapter 91? There was what looked like a cat with wings…
