Kobato. Drop. 2 by CLAMP No Lumiere

It’s here, where else?

The release of this chapter was a bit late due to Jamie’s thanksgiving break and my final week at university. That crazy schedule hopefully won’t repeat itself for Drop. 3 xD


HAHAHA! The Debt Collector is back! xDDDDD What a charming character.

So he didn’t change the dates on the Bazaar posters O.o I wonder who did it, then?

I’m starting to think that what this Debt Collector wants is something similar to what Kanoe wants for Hinoto. It might look evil at first but it’s actually something to protect her (like pretty much everything CLAMP does xD). My first guess would be… he wants to close the school so that Sayaka won’t have to work so hard anymore.

I mean, maybe she has helped her parents to raise her brothers and herself during her entire childhood and he thinks she deserves some rest?

Of course it’s not that simple… It’s just my first guess, you don’t have to look like that at me xD

Ginsei appears again, and once again I think he is madly in love with Ioryogi xD

Is that shadow… Ioryogi’s real shape? O.o Noo, I wanted them to have cool human shapes!

Ioryogi won’t come back… where to? Is it the same place Kobato came from? Is it the same place she wants to go? And what are Ioryogi’s true intentions? I too think he is not helping Kobato out without a motive.

Can’t wait for the next chapter ^^ Oh, and Ikuko Enomoto (Kobato.’s editor) wrote on her COLUMN at CLAMP-PLA.NET that Kobato. will feature the front cover of Newtype #2 (out on 01/10). Yummy~!

    Now I’m waiting for next chapter and volume; Tokyopop I hope so you will license this title and than I’ll buy this vol on http://www.empik.com ^^ –

      He looks like the son of Seishirou and Fye xD

      It won’t take long until it gets licensed in the USA, I think. It’s ben running on Newtype US but I don’t know whether they’ll release tankoubons or not…

    I had the same thought, oddly. New OTP?

    I’m not sure if that’s really Ioryogi’s shape. It might just be some kind of attack form. Then again, Ginsei did say he was monster…

    Ahh, I just love this manga more with every new question it brings up!

      • I think that the motivation for Okiura (who I personally think is her brother) to make her close the school is likely related to her being ill or weak of heart or something of that nature. If indeed he’s a typical CLAMP villain, he’ll turn out to be pretty nice and just wanting something that he sees as best for her.

        In the latest chapter, Kobato also refused to LISTEN to his terms of “repayment”, so I assume that he took that refusal to mean that there was no repayment intended– thus, the school has to shut down. (Big mistake there, Kobato! ;.; ) There’s also the fact that he wasn’t the one to change the posters. If that’s the case, it’s possible he’s not actually involved with the Yakuza part of the debt-collecting– thus, he’s trying to protect Sayaka FROM the Yakuza by offering her means of payment other than in blood, which tends to be the way that gangs do things.

        …so I think if anything, he probably wants to protect her because she’s ill.

    I agree, with CLAMP, nothing is ever simple. I wouldn’t be surprised if they clear the air and the scenario turns out similar to what you speculated.

    • Whatever it is, I don’t think he does what he does to hurt Sayaka. Muchly on the contrary, he does what he does for her own good.
