Clean scans up at The Room of Requirement!
This is the 100th Tsubasa chapter scanned by ladydarkmoon-san. Do thank her for this amazing achievement if you could ^__^
Wow, just wow. This is one of my favorites chapters so far… it’s just the perfect ending for volume 21, everything is coming together, things are starting to make sense to me and plus, we got a limb chopped off! (I’m still waiting for the heads, though xD)
Indeed they weren’t leaving Celes yet, it was really the second curse of Fye getting activated.
So this is where Fei Wang planned the end of the gang’s journey, in Celes. They would all get trapped in Celes and Fei Wang would then get rid of Fye, Kurogane and Syaoran (this one he expected Fye to kill earlier, but Sakura changed the future).
However, the world is being closed and shrinking and shrinking within Fye’s magic, and although yes, we have Fye, Kurogane and Syaoran, we also have Sakura, Fei Wang’s most important piece!! Had not Fye saved her with the few magic power he had left, I don’t know what would have happened to her… Fei Wang surely must have thought about something O.o It’s so sad, though… the world that has Celes and Valeria as counties no longer exists.
It’s funny how the curse only works if Fye can’t kill Ashura-ou by himself, Fei Wang saw right through Fye and he knew Fye would never kill Ashura-ou, doing so he made sure the curse would work.
The following excerpts were taken from iamsocool12345‘s translations from here.
It all would have worked out even if he had killed the king. He would have followed him shortly into the afterlife, leaving no need for a second curse at all.
He meant like… Fye would have killed himself later? And so eliminate Fye? Or would he, Fei Wang, eliminate he and the others by himself later?
A trap has been set, ever since the magician first began his journey. A trap meant to harm anyone who tries to use magic in Celes, other than the magician himself, or the king.
Ahhh, that is the reason why Syaoran was feeling so bad! I did think back then when Syaoran used his magic that that was really WTH and so random… now I see why Ohkawa had to make him use his magic.
In order to prevent anyone from interfering with my two curses.
Two? Does he mean he intended Fye to perform the first curse in Celes? O.o
If the clone hadn’t taken his other eye away, he probably could have made it.
It’s moments like this that makes you realize how much the plot have thickened, twisted, rolled, everything.
Shall I content myself by finishing off that witch’s little pawn, the brat from Suwa, and the magician, left with so little magic?
It’s interesting how Fei Wang NEVER refers to anybody, or at least almost anybody, by their real name. “Desert Princess”, “Clow Descendant”, “Suwa Brat”, “Magician”, “Witch”, “Duplicate/Clone/Copy” and so on… Clow is one of the few ones he does mention by the name, he and Xing Huo, I guess.
But you can clearly see here that Fei Wang’s idea is to eliminate everybody except Sakura, he no longer needs them for his plans.
Mokona’s earring! ^________^ Finally we see it’s power, and what a power! I wonder why it was designed to support so little weight though (enough for 2 persons, as long as one of them has only one arm xD). If they are traveling together as a group, it should be able to stand all 4 of them, unless “saving them from when the world closes” is not the earring’s main purpose, or, it was designed to save Sakura and Syaoran first, they have smaller bodies. Anyway, one mystery left, one thing left to be shown.
And the arm gets chopped off! I’m very proud of Kurogane for acting so quickly! For realizing “all he had to do” was to cut his arm, leave it behind along with Souhi, and that would allow him to take Fye with him. Fye had to leave his coat behind too, as it was too heavy.
For the fangilrs now: wouldn’t it be better if they had taken those heavy clothes off, leave them there, and depart… naked? XD Nobody’s arm would have been lost. Or, since Fye is a vampire, HE could have cut his own arm… he could grow a new one much easier later XD
It’s the 3rd ripped arm we see in Tsubasa, right? First Kuro-papa, Kamui and now Kurogane. When we’ll see the heads? Ah, I wonder if Kurogane will remain arm-less for the rest of the series or if he’ll get a substitute like an iron arm (à la FMA) or a magical one (à la Peter Pettigrew. Okay, it was just his hand, but you got the point xD).
I sense Yuuko is coming… for explaining a bit more of everything that has just happened, and for granting some wishes here and there… Knowing Fye, for example, I know he’ll feel extremely guilty for what Kurogane just did. It’s Subaru moaning over Seishirou’s eye all over again xD
That’s it. The last chapter of volume 21, the end of the 3rd arc of Tsubasa, the 3rd Guide will cover up to here. The remaining 7 volumes to come represent the final quarter of Tsubasa, the last 25%, the ultimate 56 chapters (if they stick to 8 chapters per volume). Speaking like that sounds as if it’s gonna be quick xD But it’s gonna be a quite long journey…
Next chapter, two weeks from now, we have a new world and a new color page (only one I think)! They seriously need to land in an E.R…

I could only really think of one thing this whole chapter and that was, “WHERE THE HELL IS ASHURA-OU’S BODY?! DDDDD8”
Kurogane’s blood looked really, really funky when he cut his arm off. XD And his arm was left behind with Souhi and the gay fluffy coat of love. I WILL MISS YOU, COAT OF LOVE. DDDDDD8

I just see in my minds’ eye Fai clamping onto Kurogane’s shoulder like a leech. Win win situation… kinda.

Yeah, that Fay would’ve been so broken by Ashura-ou’s death that he would’ve died soon after. Either by killing himself, or just dying from a broken heart. 😦

He has nowhere to go, did you notice? Celes’ world no longer exists, and everybody he knew past his journey is dead. I wonder what will happen to Fye… after this is all over, where will he go?

I thought that Kurogane left his arm and sword because they have some of Fay’s magic on them, and with the coat, these things could be used as a lure for that trap. However, who knows…maybe you are right and they needed to lose weight XDDDD
Also this chapter makes me remember the phrase: “To love a person is to tell him/her: you won’t never die, you should exist, you cannot die.” Too dramatic for this situation XDDDDDDD

At first I thought the arm was acting like some sort of “bait” for the thing that was eating the world xD But there’s not much logic in that… I think Mokona’s earring must have a weight limit or something. It’s powerful, pero no mucho, I think.

Because he will xDDDDD and then we’ll find out Fei Wang acted quickly, took the fallen arm before the world had disappeared, and then he’ll lure Fye to his side in exchange for the arm. You get the point xD

It does fall into the category of “beautiful gore”. It’s just that Kurogane lopping of his own arm…? Sort of delcious though, you have a point. Like when Yuui (or was it Fay? WHICH TWIN IS WHICH ALREADY?) went headfirst off that tower.

Sad indeed… did all the people in that world just died? Fye’s magic power is scary. And I always thought that Celes and Valeria were in different worlds, and Ashura was able to cross dimensions too…
I really don’t get it… why the arm? Hopefully it will be explained later…

I think so… the world vanished… Fye would have died too had he stayed behind (when Kurogane lets go of him for a sec, you can see that Fye’s expression is a mix of sadness and relief… he knew he was going to die).

It could be, it could be o.o I guess because they are both icy countries, they belonged to the same world.

Yeah, maybe because there was a little of Fye’s magic on it? When Fye inserted Souhi inside Kurogane’s hand. And maybe Mokona’s earring supports a limit of magic power (if you read Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, you’ll remember there was something similar in the boat inside the Horcrux cave. The boat supported enough magical power for one wizard, other than that it would sink).
But I really think it’s a matter of weight, we’ll see.

Oh my gosh… this chapter is completly amazing…and I bit creepy I can say.
When I saw Kurogane’s arm it made mi hair stand on end… I could’t believe that CLAMP had done that… but then I said “Keep your hair on¡ It’s CLAMP” And I remember the curse of Seichirou and Subaru, and, well… I think is very common in their stories, one with an eye out, an arm out… Sakura with her soul out, Syaoran with his eye out… but he still have the eye at less.
I strongly believe that this is a very exciting chapter, a lot of things have been discovered here, and some feeling (I mean Kurogane, sometimes I really think this is a Kuro x Fye story (instead when inside my heart said no) Well… step by step we’re getting closer to th end.

This chapter was really shocking. Did you notice Fye´s expression when Kuro let go his hand? He probably thought that Kuro was reasoning, he didnt expect him to make such a sacrifice for his sake, even when Kuro already had done a lot for him. I hope next chapter they would have a little and sincere talk about that. They are grown up already, they should be more straight about their feelings.

“Suwa Brat” is Kurogane. The village where he lived before everything was destroyed by demons, was called Suwa.
R!Syao is Clow Descendant.

It’s true, but honestly, I don’t see them having a happy ending… I guess Fye is more stubborn than I expected ^^”” He wants to die, after all. Kurogane keeps saving him, but I’m not really sure if that’s what Fye wants.
If he doesn’t die, then he will be the character with the “sad ending”.

That phrase makes me think he was talkng about the group, excluding Sakura, so i guessed he was calling Syao “Suwa brat”, and Kuor, “witch´little pawn”. and also, i didnt see kurogane as a brat, that´s why i didnt realise myself. well, it´s all clear now, thanks a lot!!

They didn’t rest from Chapitre 147 (Infinity) up to now… And this new world should be a hospital world with Hokuto dressed as a nurse (with clothes designed by herself, of course!) or Nihon koku. If it’s Nihon, I’m quite sure Tomoyo is going to make something crazy involving KuroChichi’s arm and sword.
So, end of Tankohon 21. The Tankohon in which we’ll have the first OVA. The first CLAMP in CARDLAND promotional card.

But about that, I have a doubt. Now that the feather from “Fye” has returned to Sakura, is that the only feather inside the body? Judging by the fact that her “soul” left the body, it was carrying the feathers they had collected so far, right?
Or does the body contain ALL the feathers collected so far and the “soul” at the World of Dreams is made of something else but not feathers?

Well, a good theory would be that a “second soul” would be born if the current soul stays away too much from the body. Yeah, please give the Clow/Sakura cards and the Wand to one of them.
Maybe that’s why the egg and the “magic earring” on Larg’s ear were made?

That would make sense. And if Tomoyo preserved the arm with the feather, it wouldn’t rot. Honestly, m I the only one who gets the impression CLAMP’s been readin FMA? (Think Scar’s arm… and Ed sacrificing his for his brother’s soul. What’s next, they end up in Amestris?)

hahaha ^_^ Apparently, losing arms is Clamp’s new body part to… lose. I suppose it’s so losing an eye doesn’t get too old. ^_^ But it’s both sad and touching to see Kurogane sacrifice so much for people he wasn’t too enthusiastic about way back in the beginning.

When did Larg tell Soel about the earring? I don’t recall it in xxxHOLIC, but since it was dream, maybe it when Watanuki was dreaming away… Does this mean it’s almost time for Larg to use its earring?
Now that the Celes arc is finished, will our intrepid heros be off to another world or will they move to get at the evil villain? I miss the crossovers.

And amazing, too! I think Kurogane’s character development is my favorite of all of them. Sakura’s as well.

Wow, so no one is Tusbasa has a complete body any more (if you count Sakura’s soul and this is said at the moment where mokona isn’t wearing to earing). And that was interesing to see the earing used, for some reason I thought that mokona had to wear the earing or die.
Anyway, I remeber that Yuuko said somewhere in xxxHolic that Soel’s earing is a magical device and Larg’s is a sealing device I believe. She also mentions that they were made so long ago that it is surprising that they still work.
Oh and I totally agree with the fact that Kurogan and Fai should have just taken off all their clothes, it would have ben so unexpected (and would have made Shaoran glad that he has only one eye)!

So with the end of this arc we’re finally hitting the final arc then…wow! what a ride, but of course the ride isn’t over yet! I think I may take the next chapter two week break and reread the last couple of volume of the manga.

I was in shock when Kurogane sliced off his arm. I nearly cried because I honestly couldn’t figure out why he would… until I came here. =)
