CLAMP NEWS !!


Yay, new pictures on the header X3

– Next scheduled chapters (red means new):

07/10 – Newtype #08 – Chapter 8 (on sale).
08/10 – Newtype #09 – Chapter 9.
09/10 – Newtype #10 – No Kobato. scheduled. Featuring article about Kobato. (CLAMP changed that. Chapter 10 was supposed to come out in this issue).

Boo-woo for that unexpected break… At least we’ll have an article…

– Next scheduled chapters (red means new):

08/01 – Shonen Magazine #35 – Chapter 162 (on sale).
08/08 – Shonen Magazine #36 & 37 – No Tsubasa scheduled.
08/22 – Shonen Magazine #38 – Chapter 163.
08/29 – Shonen Magazine #39 – Chapter 164.

After the massive break, seems like Tsubasa will be back on track.

• Calendar:

As I have posted previously, the sales of the 2008 Tsubasa & XXXHOLiC calendar are planned for the end of this year. Reservations have already began and the deadline is September 30th. The price will be of 2500 yens.

The calendar will come with a total of 13 illustrations (including the cover, probably) and if they follow the pattern of the previous calendars, 2 of them will be brand new illustrations.

Additionally, it’ll come with a desktop calendar as an appendix (7 new illustrations).

– Next scheduled chapters (red means new):

07/30 – Young Magazine #35 – Chapter 141 (on sale).
08/06 – Young Magazine #36 & 37 – No XXXHOLiC scheduled.
08/20 – Young Magazine #38 – Chapter 142.
08/27 – Young Magazine #39 – Chapter 143.

Again, seems like XXXHOLiC will be pretty steady after the big break.

• Comics:

In an unexpected move, the release of XXXHOLiC #12 has been announced: October 17th.

• Calendar:

The first set of CLAMP in CARDLAND is scheduled to go on sale on November, and it has been announced that this set will contain cards of the works Tsubasa and XXXHOLiC.

Prices for the Start Decks and Booster Packs are 1400 yens and 330 yens, respectively.

    And I’m really looking foreward to that calendar *_* two new illustrations!!! That would be so great!

  5. Yo, Chibi-Yuuto!! *glomps* It seems a pretty steady schedule, except that I’m a little disappointed that Kobato has another breaker in September. ^^; Demo, sore wa daijoubu desu. Jitsu wa, I’m looking forward for the TRC and HOLiC stories. Arigatou gozaimasu for the links for the trading card sets. ^^

  6. does anybody know if CLAMP themselves colored these manga illustrations (used in the cards)? It appears that this is what the cards are…lol

    It’s a neat idea, but I don’t know if I’d want to buy them if CLAMP didn’t color the images themselves…it’d be no different than the hundreds of other fan-colored manga images ^_^

      No, I don’t think so. For one they look like they were colored artificially by computer, and for two, I think we would know (they would say if CLAMP had colored them ^^)

      I think they didn’t want all cards to look B&W XD The fun is in the game!

      • well, as for the artificially colored by computer…we do know that CLAMP does that from time to time ^_^

        But yeah, I don’t think it’s likely CLAMP colored them either..

        and…this is actually a game? I figured they were just collectable cards o_O

        Has it been revealed what the object/storyline/whatever of the game is yet?

        • Yes, Nekoi does color, but it doesn’t look like her coloring. And again, I think they would have mentioned it *but I might be wrong too, who knows xD*

          Yes! As far as I know these cards are playable! They refer to them as “Game” Cards, and they have little texts underneath the figures. I don’t know what are the rules or how to play it, though =/

  9. shiny cards @@ i see Watanuki holding a replica of Sakura’s “wand” XD and the coloured manga scan is so much love…
    must get hold of them (even if i won’t play with them), i hope it won’t be very expensive XP

    • That is why there’s only TRC and XXXHOLiC in that picture! Because the first set are going to be centered on it.

      I see Watanuki and Sakura’s Wand too… I wonder what that card does O.o “Fake Clow’s Wand: Recovers your HP, pero no mucho” XDDDD

  10. The change of mind for Kobato is mean. ¬_¬ (I suspect they want to synchronise the USA and Japanese edition of Newtype, so the Kobato in Newtype USA is the same as the one printed the month before in the Newtype Japan).

    Holic and Tsubasa are back with two chapters each. Holic will have a tankoubon for october, so we can deduce there will be another chapter for Yong Magazine #40. (Three in a row! let’s have champagne!) I hope Holic will get more independent from Tsubasa as we get closer to the end.

    For the calendar, they say there will be three brand new picture (likely a cover and two month illustration) and seven on the mini calendar.

    As for the card game … I hope it won’t be all colored black and white ilustration from the manga, I’m not fluent enough in Japanese to play the game, if there isn’t gorgeous pictures, there’s little point to buy this. =_=

    • I hope Holic will get more independent from Tsubasa as we get closer to the end.

      Hasn’t it been stated that as the two reach their ends, they will become more and more closely linked? And that xxxHOLiC’s end is a direct result of the end of TRC? Or something similiar.

      • It seems I expressed my thought poorly … ^^;

        I meant, I hope the tsubasa and Holic tankoubon will not always come out together, I hope there will be around a Holic tankoubon and a half for two Tsubasa tankoubon, I hope the chapter publication of both stories will get more independent.

        That should be clearer that way.

      Totally and completely.

      The announcement of XXXHOLiC 12 surprised me… not because it’s in October, I suspected so, but because it was announced so very early in CLAMP-NET XD

  12. Ahrgh, I’m really tempted to hunt down the calendar. I love calendars too much, which is why I always end up with more than I can actually use, and it’s been expensive with all those japanese imports lately. 😡 But seriously, getting a calendar is basically a precious bundle of 6 to 12 posters~ so if I like half of the pictures enough to spend the amount, I usually just try to buy it. XD Ahh, choices, choices.

    Just a small question:
    WHERE can the calendar be pre-ordered? I couldn’t find anything on yesasia. Don’t tell me it’s only for Japan-residents^^;;

    (am I the only one not interested in the CardGame? I mean, the pics look all very neat and stuff, but for that I’ll buy an artbook… *has tons of cardgames lying around, not knowing what to do with them* )

  17. Hello, chibiyuuto! Thanks for the news! Well, i dont know how i will survive till august 22, but, seems after that, there will be no breaks. yay!!
    I like to ask you something: were could i preorder the TRC calendar? I dont know japanese, so i wonder if there´s some place in english or so. Did you know about that? Well, see you soon.
    PS: i finally move to my new home! perhaps in less than a month, i will have internet again. yupiiii!!!

    • Unfortunaly, right now, I don’t know of any online store selling the calendar…. I don’t even know if you can buy it online.
      I’ll give some research and I’ll post here if I find anything, I promisse!!

  19. *drooly stare* Oohh… more lovely CLAMP collectable-y items… and cards no less… must… must buy… wallet screams, but must buy…

    Though, in a little more seriousmood… I’d love to buy those… *wiggle* I.. I can’t stop looking at the “GRAND ENTRANCE OF FAI AND KURO-CHI!” card… Even if it’s computer-colored… I’m sure some might say otherwise, but I’m more than tempted to buy it… (…I still have all of my pokemon cards haha ^^: A whole 6-inch binders worth ^^;;;;;).

    But of course, thank you so much for this month’s information! I have no clue what I’d do without you! (…well, I do, actually. I’d lay in bed and count the ceiling tiles… and then realize a few hours later we don’t have ceiling tiles ^^;;)
