The day after my birthday:
I would like to deeply thank everybody who wished me a happy birthday. I mean, everybody! I’m not going to say any names because I might forget anybody and I don’t wanna make anybody sad, but you know who you are because I already thanked each of you personally.
I got comments with wonderful messages, e-mails, translations (XD), entire posts, even drawings (which were all saved, of course) !!! I wasn’t expecting half of the attention I got. So thank you very muchly *bows* ^__^
For those who wished me a great day, thank you too because indeed yesterday was wonderful. I hadn’t had such a great birthday in quite some time. I got gifts from my friends and we celebrated it at Pizza Hut (like always, but too bad they don’t have the Code Geass package u.u), and I also celebrated it at home with my family.
To close the day, Keane is going to play in Sao Paulo in the next month, and I presented myself with a ticket for the concert *-* It’ll be the first concert I attend to, and I love Keane, so I’m very looking forward to it !
But let’s go to what really matters, right? ^^”
Puff Interview – Highlights:
As I had previously posted here, there’s a brand new CLAMP interview in the latest issue of Puff magazine. I haven’t found any scans, unfortunately, but I managed to find some highlights of what was said in that interview.
– 2/3 of Tsubasa’s story has already been told. From now on, reading both TRC and XXXHOLiC will be more interesting because the link between them will be intensified.
– In order to cause a huge impact in Chapter 120, when Fye looses his eye, they decided to not show any blood-shedding previous to that.
– Ohkawa wanted to include in the script an “ordinary” conversation between Fuuma and Seishirou during the Tokyo arc.
– Quote from the interview:
King Ashura finally woke up. Are we finally going to see the story of Celes?
Ohkawa: Yes.
Mokona: Somebody from the anime staff said that broadcasting Fye’s past would be impossible (laughs).
And that, is why we all want to see Fye’s story so desperately ^_______^
And we finally got word of how far in the story we are, 66% of it has already been told. THAT’S SO LITTLE!!!!!!!
I think that 28 volumes is pretty much canon now. 2/3 of 28 is exactly 18,6. And that’s precisely where we are ! XDDDD
That being said, there’s a long 9,4-volumes journey ahead of us, folks, and TRC won’t be finished until the next year. (But that’s only my own conclusion. Nothing official has been announced apart from the fact that 2/3 of the story has been told.)
Seeing how the first Guide covered volumes 1~7 while the second one covered volumes 8~14, I’m quite sure now that there will be 2 other Guides covering 15~21 and 22~28. All we need now is to see whether the artbook will feature the illustrations for volumes 1~14 and this theory will be confirmed.
Last but not least, people, I gave a series of CLAMP interviews in Chinese and asked carcarcarrot-san if she could translate them, she kindly accepted the mission and already translated two of them. The first one is about the end of Chobits while the other one is about their 15th Anniversary. Both very great interviews and really worth checking.

Yo, Chibi-Yuuto!! Yokatta desu wa that you really had a blast on your birthday! ^^ Arigatou gozaimasu for the inside scoop of the latest CLAMP interviews and TRC updates. So were halfway there of the series, I knew that! It is possible that very soon the third turning point will happen sometime this year. The final turning point will be next year… O__O
I’m predicting that Fai’s past will be revealed sometime in April or May. I want to see it so badly!!! >.<

I really want to see more Syaoran trying to win the final battle and less of the Sakura-hime/Yuuko chat. It’s the same, with a slight different addition. That way, it can pick up the pace to get ready for Celes. I like Infinity concept, demo what I really want is the Celes story and see Fai’s past. I want to know all the secrets and mysteries that make Fai be in a hidden angsty state.

It’s hontou kanashii that Ohkawa changed her mind about the story script between Fuuma and Seishirou. That would’ve been really awesome, a battle would’ve happened!! *slams fist* >.< I wanted to see them fighting each other! Oh noes… *sobs in the corner* Why didn't you wrote a letter to Ohkawa telling to keep that story, Chibi-Yuuto?! XDDD
Maybe I can understand why Mokona said that about being difficult to broadcast Fai's past. Maybe in the manga version, it will be very frightening. Possibly his past is way beyond worse than Kurogane's past.
By the way, I was so right about the total volume prediction!! I knew that it was going to be around that number when I predicted on one of your articles. Yatta!!!! / *does a little dance*

But Kurogane’s past got past NHK’s censorship. I guess Fye’s case is much worse xD Something like, if they wanted to be faithful to it, it would be impossible to broadcast it.

But my guess is that XXXHOLiC is going to be 15-volumes long, or 14, half of TRC.

Ah! I was gone all day yesterday, so a belated happy birthday to you! I’m glad that you did have a good one, though.
Also, squee on the information! (66% feels more like where I suspected it was. People kept flailing and swearing that the story was ‘almost over’ and oh no, everyone was going to have an unhappy ending…but that just never made sense to me. The story really doesn’t FEEL very finished. Maybe partly because xxxHolic’s connection to Tsubasa is still so indefinite and vague.)

I was one of the people who thought that the story was almost over (I had hope it could end until the end of this year or beginning of the next). But not that much. I confess I thought it was around 75% concluded, so 66% really striked me on the chest xD

They showed Kuro’s mother and Xing Huo pierced with FWR’s sword prior to Syao ripping out Fay’s eye, but they’re a minor characters so it doeasn’t count, right? ~_*

…but didn’t Syaoran get his throat cut just a few chapters before that? And ripped off Kamui’s arm? There was a lot of blood at those points. It wasn’t all over the floor like with Fai’s eye, but it was there.

Yes. But I think they mean that they tried to not show too many blood-shedding. It was inevitable to show it at some points, like when Kurogane’s mother died or when Fei Wang killed Xing Huo. But even so, I find Fye’s scene the most disturbing of all.

It will. Ohkawa said so in another Puff interview some years ago.

wow, so Clamp really planned this well didn’t they? There were so much more blood-shedding, and it did have a huge impact! a brilliant idea i must say. (and poor Fye ;_;)

well basically i love translations since it’s so satisfying to read the finished work, and i need more practice anyway~^^ a bouns would be that the Clamp interviews are interesting and fun to read~ (unlike some of my translation homework about politics and such XD)

one and a half i guess, one is a seiyuu from Chobits talking with a Clamp member, and the half i’m not sure (the first half of the interview was already translated by reg-chan, i’ve heard) but it’s something quite generall about Clamp as a team…

Only 2/3? Thank God, I thought that it would be at most about 21 volumes. Yesterday I’ve read the whole story once again and I realised how much I love all those guys! I really want Sakura to be cheerful and energetic again (comparing to the first volume, she’s kind of sleepy now) ;-;. Good luck everybody!

Now I know how Mokona coloured those Chobits illustrations. >.> I could tell they were using COPIC markers on works such as RG Veda and X (and still use them on TRC and xxxHolic illusts) but couldn’t place the technique in Chobits anywhere. As an artist myself, the lack of knowledge was driving me mad. o_O; …not that I wish to try it out now. I still don’t get most part of it but at least I know the basis. Paint isn’t a very close friend of mine, uh… xD
Finally, Celes….christ, I thought they’d never get to it till what…the 50th volume? xD Ok no, but it’s quite frustrating – not to know the exact reasons behind Fai’s behavoir so far. Oh Fai, how I wish I could understand you more. e_e
