1st page, 2nd panel – Crossover count: 1 !
Could it be Watanuki and Himawari? O.o I sure hope so ! The fact that the girl’s hair is white doesn’t necessarily means she has light hair. I would rather think CLAMP is using the same method of XXXHOLiC when drawing street people. However, that would mean Kobato.’s storyline happens a little bit earlier than XXXHOLiC’s, due to Himawari’s old hair-style. But, it’s just a guess xD
1st page, 3rd panel – Crossover count: 2 !
Those three girls strangely look like Emi, Hinata and Touko, respectively, of Suki. Dakara Suki, which I wouldn’t doubt since their world is the same as GD, which is the same as XXXHOLiC, which is the same as Kobato.
4th page, 6th panel – Crossover count: 3 !
Yumi-chaaan ! She looks so pretty in her outfit ! I am personally loving all the Chobits crossovers ^__^ Since there are no persocons in this world, I wonder if a *real* woman will cause trouble to Ueda and Yumi’s relationship O.o (and thus, Kobato will be there to heal her ! XD)
Now speaking about the chapter itself ^^
Sayaka-sensei makes her (lovely) appearance ! *-* I love her so much xDDD She goes to Chiroru (and they know her and they treat her so well ^-^) to buy chocolate to everybody at Yomogi Nursery School for Valentine because the children love Chiroru’s chocolate ^__^ And I think she gets or buys one of those chocolate cigarettes pack? (I loved those xD) The pack reminds her of “ano hito”, which is no other than the debt collector (which we still don’t know the name !)
She accidentally drops the chocolate cigarettes and…….. Kobato finds them xDDD
Back to Yomogi Nursery School, Sayaka thanks Fujimoto because he did something (something I can’t really tell xD) at Chiroru and that made Fujimoto blush XDDDDD
Back to Kobato, she’s trying to find the owner of the chocolate cigarettes because she doesn’t want to ruin Valentine’s Day of the person who lost them.
However, Valentine’s Day ended and she didn’t manage to find their owner, therefore, she gets 35 points xD (I hope I got everything right ^^”)

This chapter is certainly full of crossovers. That has to be Watanuki and Himawari. And I’m definitely glad to see Sayaka and Fujimoto- the story is starting to move.

i think Himawari won’t go out with Watanuki alone, like in the previous chapters she’s worried that her bad luck would affect him…
and that made Fujimoto blush XDDDDD

Demo demo, since she’s wearing her old hair-style, we would have to assume none of that Watanuki-falling-from-the-window happened yet. So she’s clear to go out with him.

true, and they did go out together before (the car accident!), so i can’t really tell…
but still Himawari is fully aware that she would cause bad luck, and Watanuki may not be that brave to ask her out on Valentine’s Day…

MWUAHA! This is officially my favrotie chapter so far.. heheh. Admittedly, I missed Suki, Emi and Touko the first read-through… But still!
Though, this splash-page seems different… Darker somehow (or maybe this is just me?)… I mean color-wise, there’s not much pastels like normally… Wow, I think I’m looking into this waaaaay too much.. haha

Now that you mention, you’re quite right ^^ I think it’s because of the dark dress she’s wearing o.o I guess they wanted it to resemble chocolate ^^

It’s indeed very nice, because we haven’t had the chance to enjoy them together in Chobits ^^ They make such a pretty couple!

And thus we had our monthly does of cuteness. So many crossovers here, pretty sure that was Himawari and Watanuki, they did go out together without Doumeki on a few occasions if I can remember correctly.
Yumi is oh so pretty here, this drawing style fits the Chobits characters quite well (Chobits style made everybody look short). I’m doubtful we’ll see a Dita and Zima here though. -_-‘

I love the Kobato drawing style too ! It has a lot of Chobits on it, specially the “sketch” feeling of it. I don’t know how to explain XD It’s not as sharp as TRC, but not as thin as CCS, and sometimes a same line is “scribbled” several times !

Man, Fujimoto is hot. But I’m not quite patient enough to figure out what his problem is, though there’s clearly something bothering him. On the flip side whenever I can read a kanji without the furigana it’s a miniature ego boost right there.
There’s no way in hell that isn’t Watanuki and Himawari; no one else has had hair like hers ever, anywhere.

I think Fujimoto has trusting issues xD He had seen people taking advantage of Sayaka before, so he thinks twice before trusting someone. Plus, he was adopted, and he has this need to always help Sayaka because he’s so thankful to what she and her family did for him. That’s what I think anyway XDD

HAHAHAHA Eu acho e espero que essas datas comemorativas só apareçam nesse primeiro (ou zero, como quiser chamar) volume. Pq depois a historia vai engatar de vez, e dai elas não vao ficar repetindo todas essas datas de novo, né? Tb tem o fato da Kobato não ser mt familiarizada com o mundo “humano” como um todo. Entao eu acho q ela tenha q passar por isso pra conhecer melhor as datas comemorativas e talz, como se fosse um aprendizado msm.

I believe that’s Watanuki and Himawari. I really do hope that once the events caught up with the Temporary series, and Kobato moves into Chitose’s apartment complex, that she eventually meets Watanuki. Actually, with all the crossovers, I wouldn’t be surprised if Kobato receives the bottle from our favorite Dimension Witch, Yuuko. Filling up a bottle with wounded hearts as a price does sound rather Yuuko-esque, don’t you think?
Oh, also, a while back I was reading through Kobato’s Wikipedia entry when the following caught my attention: Among the hearts she heals, there will be a boy she will work for and bring happiness to, but she is forbidden to fall in love with him.. I don’t remember reading it in the manga, either in the Temporary or the ongoing series, so I didn’t pay much attention because Wikipedia tends to be unreliable quite often; however, I read something similar on your Kobato website, and since your a reliable source, all I’m wondering is where did that piece of information come from? A CLAMP interview, perhaps? Sounds like a disaster waiting to occurs and Kobato’s supposed to be my escape from all the CLAMP angst, so that bit breaks my already scarred heart. D8

Well, that’s something they are assuming that will happen. When we had the first ads for Kobato, back in 2004, they said that she had to do this mission but she couldn’t fall in love with any of her err, “patients” XD Then after the story started, it’s normal to think that she’ll develop a relationship with Fujimoto, ’cause he seem to be her pairing. So they assumed that he is the one that she can’t fall in love for. Nothing has been confirmed yet (they didn’t even mention this can’t-fall-in-love thing in the manga).

Reading this chapter I had really weird feeling. Do you remember the scene when Fujimoto blushes while talking to Sayaka? Well, he have been looking strangely similiar to Syaoran. At least that was my impression. I checked on colour page and he indeed has brown hair and eyes. What’s more, in “Kobato – temporary” Sayaka said that he was alike to “the other one”, does it mean “other Syaoran”? Maybe it’s only me, but Fujimoto is exactly like “Syaoran, that was brought by Kurogane”. I’m strange, I know, but I was all excited when I thougt about it that I simply have to say someone about it. Gomen! And – just one more thing – that debt collector was like Fay, only with dark hair.

If their relation stay the same has it was in Chobbits, I guess Yumi will learn that she is in love with a widower and will feel that she can not compete with his dead but so perfect wife. So Kobato will confront them, but after they get separated, of course, and they will com back together. ^_^

Fujimoto helped them prepare chocolate for the Valentine’s Day rush, so they gave Sayaka a discount. So when she says, “Thank you for making it so cheap,” they tell her to redirect her thanks to Fujimoto instead.
In case you didn’t know, Tirol (which you romanized as “Chiroru”) is an actual brand of chocolate in Japan.

I know some countries such as Spain used “Tirol” for their Chobits’ adaptation. However, I’m gonna stick with “Chiroru” because that’s how I used to read and watch in Chobits back then, and I’m already used to it XDDDD However, I didn’t know it was a chocolate brand in Japan ! Thanks for this, I’m gonna put a note on the next Kobato chapter we release for CLAMP No Lumiere ^^
