If you can’t see any images from my LJ, download files or access any of the websites derived from “http://fukanounashigoto.free.fr”, read this tutorial.

Some months ago my server suddenly became unavailable for certain people, more precisely for Brazilians. But recently I found out that people from Peru also started to have the same problem.

I don’t know -why- this is happening, but I can tell -what- it is. It has to do with IP banning. I can’t tell you from which side (if it’s from my server or from your internet provider), but it’s IP restriction, that’s for sure.

Since this started out-of-nothing, I hope that, someday, this problem will be also over out-of-nothing. But in the meantime, I found a way of accessing, seeing images AND downloading files from my server.

If the problem is your IP address, then let’s hide it !

Step 1 – Accessing a proxy-free website that hides your IP address:

There are plenty of websites nowadays that hide your IP address. However, not all of them support downloads. Nearly all of them support images, so it won’t be a problem, but if you intend to download files from my server, I recommend these ones:

http://www.hidemyass.com/ (funny name xD) – The best in my opinion. The only problem I found is that sometimes an advertising might pop up, but that’s only it.

http://www.freeproxy.ca/ – Also very good, but I noticed that the LJ posts lost all their configurations (you know, font specification, etc).

http://www.shadowbrowser.com/ – The problem of this one is that the name and extension of the downloaded file will be lost, you WILL have the file in the end, but you’ll have to rename it properly.

Step 2 – Type the URL down.

After you choose which website you’ll use, now you have to type the URL of the site you would like to access in the proper field. In this case, you’ll either type my LJ (http://chibiyuuto.livejournal.com) or one of the corners of http://fukanounashigoto.free.fr (like The Room of Requirement, for example).

To avoid errors, don’t forget to add the “http://” before the URL.

Also, some sites (like http://www.freeproxy.ca/) offer the options to not show advertisings or hide the bars that appear above the sites you want to access. Make sure to check those options in case they are available.

Done !

Now you can access and download everything you want from my server ! (I hope)

PS1: A good tip is to bookmark the site when you’re accessing it through the proxy-free one, this way you won’t need to go through all the steps every time you want to check the site ^^

PS2: You might notice that the access can be much slower than normal, but that’s okay because you are accessing it through another website.
