Tsubasa OAD Title

Yui Makino, Sakura’s seiyuu in Tsubasa, posted an entry in her official blog stating that a press conference was recently held at Kodansha to promote the OADs release.

In that entry, she revealed that Tsubasa’s OAD will be called ツバサ春雷記 (Tsubasa Shunraiki), which can be translated as Tsubasa – Spring Thunder Chronicles. I should credit my friend Sakura-chan for translating the title.

With that sort of title, it’s hard to predict what is going to be about (which arc of the manga, I mean). I wonder also if that’s the full title or just a short version.

There’s a small picture of the Tsubasa cast along with producer Rui Kuroki.

We should expect some features in magazines about the OADs anytime soon, now that an official press conference has been held.

The first Tsubasa OAD will be released in March. More information as they come =)

Beautiful illustration, but hideous typography (in my opinion xD)

The artbook will be out December 5.

    Oh, sorry Lelouch ♥ (I don’t like this typography neither >w It doesn’t give us a lot of informations :s
    With only two OAD, that I guess will close the Tsubasa serie as the Holic OAD close the XXX Holic story, I don’t know which part of the story that remain will be developped…
    (I want Fye’s past / Sakura in the word of dreams / etc, etc…).
    I want to know >_<

      I think the OADs will contain a lot of original stuff, specially with that title O.o

      LOL! Spring makes sense. Will be released on Spring, and Spring is CLAMP’s season. But the thunder part confused me as well xD Maybe it has to do with Syaoran xD

  5. With that sort of mushy OAD title, it’s hard to imagine that it’d be the Infinity arc….which makes me sad and disappointed. =_= All I’m left hope for is it to be something Horitsuba related. ._.;

    The CG artbook looks promising~

  8. i believe it will be nihon arc for the spring name
    the fight betwen clone and xiao again and sakura clone fall with all the sakura petals everywhere booooo!!!

    i want to see infinity have a lot od fights so it could b great see them animated

  9. Spring Thunder Chronicles. Wouldn’t it follow the manga? Means continuing the next arc which is Chess World arc? But the name is indeed sound disproportionate compared to the arc… *thinking hard*
    Ah, blah. Who would know what the Goddess are thinking anyway… *give up on thinking and prefer to wait instead* :DDDDD

    • We don’t know nothing about the plot yet. So it can follow the manga or not ^^; I think regardless of following the manga a little, I’m putting all my money on a completely original ending.

  10. Mysterious title, mh… Yet, we can positively be sure that it wouldn’t be Infinity arc… XD
    My guesses are:
    -Horitsuba something (which I strongly hope for, having Horitsuba animated would be too good to be true! *_____*)
    -You remember the omake with them telling scary stories? Don’t ask me why, but the title made me think of it… XD It all begun with a thunderstorm, if I’m correct… Yet I think it couldn’t be very fitting for an OAD…

    …Code Geass artbook cover reminds a little too much of X… XD

      I have to disagree.. Okawa said that the OAD of Holic is supposed to connect Holic’s anime to Tsubasa’s story. there wouldn’t be any point of doing so if CLAMP didn’t want to continue Tsubasa’s story from Tokyo arc. therefore I say, let’s wait and see.

    … something tell sme it’s the Nihon Arc, but a good chunk of me strongly opposes that.

    When the OVAs were announced, my first thought was that they’d be an animated version of whatever the final arc of both Tsubasa and Holic.

    And omg I can’t wait for that Code Geass artbook *o*

    • If I were to pick an arc, I would pick Nihon as well. All the Sakura petals might have something to do with the Spring in the title ^^”

  12. Ok the title sound strange….. Spring Thunder Chronicles????? Maybe they are going to make more ODA…… (I wish they would)…. So Infinity, Celes, Nihon, Dream Arc… what is going to happened to them…. thoes are very important to the story….. ok… I want more info.

    The cover looks gorgeous!!! I’m betting that hand down there must be Suzaku’s!!! It MUST be!! And I think I see a leg…

    Hypothesis 1: Suzaku is lying on the floor on his back and Lelouch’s sword is pointing at him… He could be looking at with with angst written on his face or looking at Lelouch with love… Though I seriously prefer him to look at us… XDDD

    Hypothesis 2: That could be C.C..

    I rather not!! Plus the shape of the leg, (assuming that is a leg) doesn’t look like it belongs to a woman… And also, the SuzaLulu fanservice would be so off… T.T

    Arghh… Exam pressure’s getting me… Been talking like that since I started my revision…

    • Hahahah I’m pretty sure it’s Suzaku’s hand too, and I also see a leg XDDD What is he doing???? xDDD

      I think it’s Suzaku (the White Knight) I don’t think CC would be wearing her “default” costume, not in an artbook cover. And I think Suzaku is looking at us! As if we were interrupting something XD

    The title of the TRC OVA is indeed not too revealing ^^;
    But considering that both series are coming to an end, and that those OVA are supposed to show an arc which got BOTH series very related/close to each other, I can only think it will very likely be The End of both series or, at least, what we’ve been seeing lately in the latest chapters, about Syao/Wata bond blablabla…
    Spring: april first connection?
    Thunder: for whatever reason, it makes me think of ‘Syaoran’ and his thunder attacks ^^ or will those be ‘thunderous’ OVA/revelations ? 😛

      My thoughts exactly. It might be set in a country that we already seen in the manga, but it’s IMPOSSIBLE to animate everything after Tokyo in 2 episodes. So a lot of things will be cut and we’ll get an original ending.

  18. *giggles* I hope “春雷” turns out to be someone’s name instead because all I can think about is how the Chinese sometimes use the code name “Spring Thunder” for a quick wipe out of illegal activity. The Tsubasa gang busting on drug dealers is amusing though…;;

    Though if it is being used as a connector for Holic then maybe it’s an insinuation we don’t get yet :/
