Wow, I can’t believe we are in episode 30 already ^^
This time the guest is Tada Shunsuke, director of Tsubasa Tokyo Revelations.
Favorite Talk of Flour Fortress
So! As said previously, the special guest of this episode is Shunsuke Tada, the director of Tsubasa Tokyo Revelations series of OADs.
He is sooo caaaalm xD
As usual, firstly they asked him personal questions (Profile Part). When asked about movies, he said he liked Transformers just recently, and CLAMP added that Nekoi loves it (and she really does! She’s been writing on her Private Board about it every now and then). And I think he said he likes riding bikes.
Work Part now. CLAMP asked him what kind of professional he would like to become when he was a child, and he replied he wanted to be an airplane pilot.
He was later asked how he become involved with animation. He said something about Kiko-chan’s Smile, I’m pretty sure it was the first job in the animation field. I did a small research and he did direct a few episodes of it.
The second half of the episode was entirely focused on Tsubasa Tokyo Revelations. Shunsuke talked about the making of the storyboard (which was drawn by him), among other production aspects. Ohkawa asked him which scene was the hardest to make and he replied it was those involving a lot of action (more specifically, the Kamui vs. Kurogane fight scene).
They added that on part 2 there will be even more action, with the fight between Syaoran and the clone, and also on part 3, due to Sakura’s quest to find the egg.
I’m quite sure he said that the scenes which received special treatment where the Kamui vs. Kurogane and the one with the awakening of real Syaoran (we could tell, Shunsuke xD). He said he wanted to respect the manga as much as possible, so as to not disappoint the fans.

heheh yeah it is, but you know, ppl who speaks portuguese tend to know more spanish or at least gets more if it that ppl who only speaks spanish.
I can’t get any word of portuguese U_U, i do see some portuguese programs on cable, but i need to read the subtitles xDD, though portuguese is too much fun to pronounce 8DD

And I must say they did a good job on the Kuro/Kamui fight especially. It’s the only scene which made me sit straight up on my chair and tried not to smash into my monitor XD.

I think it’s extremely unfai not to share animation storyboards, it’s so rare to see one. I mean, they are so cool to see! Instead of having screencaps or character profiles in official guides, they should contain the storyboards.
I wish we could see the storyboards for TTR too.

I love so much the fight between Kamui and Kurogane…that I just can imagine the fight between the two Shaolan (and Fye … I am already crying :p)

Shunsuke-sama you are a legend. I’m sending my fangirl love to him for appreciating that the storyline of the manga needs to be respected. He also seems to have a lot of respect for the fans too. ^_^ What a guy!

He says that the original idea was to make the OADs as close as possible so as to not disappoint the fans (otherwise they wouldn’t buy the others).

The only reason I’m watching it is for the vampire twins so it HAS to be important. few of my complaints are 1. they don’t appear often enough. 2. the animation made them move so slowly. (in the manga, it was an INSTANT! instant before kamui attacked kurotan) 3. kamui’s voice is so deeep…. 4. it’s different from the manga. 5….6…7…. blahblahblah i can on and on and on
it really seems that the sale of tsubasa vol 21 improved because of the OVA
