After so much conspiracy (don’t mind xD), it’s finally up at the RoR, originally scanned by ladydarkmoon *praises*
Alright, the splash page. The one that caused so much fuss xDDD I really really liked it, and it’s definitely one of my favorites. There are a few (LIE, it’s a LOT !) things I’d like to say:
– The first thing to notice, at least the first thing *I* noticed, was Fye’s middle finger. Better, the “entire” Fye xD It strongly reminded me of Kazahaya, of course. He’s not only showing his middle-finger, but he’s also pointing his tongue out. But that’s not all, anyone who have seen a bit of Air Gear, more precisely, Agito, can tell that Fye is JUST like Agito in this pic, specially the eye-patch (I’m telling this because I happen to have a friend of mine who likes Air Gear, specially Agito, a lot, and he’s always showing me pics). Another Air Gear reference is all the metallic pendants. The characters of Air Gear use them a lot. I really like them, btw *-*
– The Gouhou Drug-ish doesn’t end on Kazahaya either. Kurogane is ALSO doing the same gesture as Rikuou (I’m talking about the same pic, you know which one ^^). Besides, all the “underground” elements such as the clothes and accessories (rings, pendants) are very like Gouhou Drug. I believe it’s understandable since that’s the “mood” of the picture.
– Another very cool thing which I liked very much are the papers that all characters are holding, each one representing something that s/he lost or is missing. The drawings are so obvious I don’t think I could call it as “symbolism”, but still, I liked it. And they are all holding it as if that is the crime they are paying for xD
– Sakura looks beyond cool ! I love her dress and the “bad-girl” look xD I believe that’s the very first time we see Sakura like that, and she looks great xD After this pic, I wonder if CLAMP will consider making a dark-Sakura ^^”
– Coolness apart, this image is not to be taken so seriously at all. CLAMP just grabbed the moment the story is at and drew it. I can see them giggling over it, of course, making fool of their own characters xDDD
EDIT: I just saw a post on Ohkawa’s private board about this splash page. She says she always wanted to do an image like this, and was just waiting for the perfect time. And that even though she always comes up with the concept of the colored and B&W splash pages, this time she came up with the theme, clothes, situation, background and the cards everyone is holding, of course. Finally she adds that, with the exception of the cards, everything else was made to “cause some fuss” XDDDDDDDDDD
Wow, and that was ONLY the splash page … moving on @_@
Alright, Fei Wang’s plan started to be revealed. Yes, we had a lot of answers. But it raised a lot of questions as well.
In order to grant his wish, he wants two things. One is the ruins at Clow Country. I really don’t know what for, and I’m intrigued of what’s in there, but I think is the key to all this.
The other thing is Sakura’s body. The body WITH the all the feathers in it. *has a flashback of the first scene of the manga. All feathers there? Her body being taken away? Maybe not…*
But this is new to us… the body. So far we thought he only wanted the feathers.
He wants the “body memories” (yeah, the same one we saw at Shurano when Sakura kissed Syaoran’s cheek) of various worlds, god knows why.
We finally got to know why he killed Kurogane’s mother (and the whole country along-side), and I loved the explanation. It’s like reading Ohkawa’s mind XD To make him meet and serve Tomoyo-hime because she’s the only one who can send him to other worlds. Amazing ! And also to make Kurogane grow strong so that later he would protect Sakura.
We got 2 tempting pages of Fye’s past too ! And for that I have other things to say as well:
– The poor thing was kept captured… alone… and it was snowing outside ;_; If he wanted to die so much, it must have been the cruelest thing ever, unbearable to handle.
– He had long hair (how long was he in there?), and he looked like Kohane from behind O.o
– Wanting to die… but not before being loved by someone (I’m assuming that’s what he wanted). That is SO CLOVER it hurts xD Suu, Lan, the coincidences are extreme. No wonder he fell in love with Oruha’s song XDDDDDDD If that’s really the case, I won’t mind at all.
Now, however, those things made me wonder, WHY them? Why Kurogane and Fye precisely? It seems like they really were hand-picked by Fei Wang.
Good thing Sakura noticed Clow’s name when Yuuko mentioned it.
The Mokonas were created for the sake of “2 Futures” (Oh man, not again =_= XD). And there’s Watanuki in this whole mess ! Syaoran had such a worried face when Yuuko spoke about Watanuki. I wonder what’s up with them >.<
I was glad (like "GO KUROGANE !") when Kurogane asked what the hell is Fei Wang's wish, then. You know how characters love to play stupid passives at these times. But no, he asked it ! XD However, it was worth the trying XD Yuuko only half-answered him (damn you, politically-fair witch ! XD), and the half she answered was so WTF-ing confusing I was like "What?" @_@

Next week there’s no TRC, CLAMP changed the schedule again, so no new chapters until the week after the next. On the other hand, next week XXXHOLiC will finally return ^__^

The Gouhou Drug similarities were the first things I noticed about the spash page, they even have the left eye thing going with Fay and Kazahaya (luckily, his is only closed!). GD has downright blatant crossovers in Holic, but they haven’t been prevalent in Tsubasa before.
Now I’m thinking FWR had something to do with Watanuki’s parents deaths, considering he’s probably Yuuko and Clow’s backup plan. Perhaps he was supposed to have died back then with his parents? I want some answers on his tie with Syaoran in next weeks Holic. >_>
They sure do keep changing their minds on when to release chapters, don’t they? ;P

Very good theory o.o Fei Wang has something to do with XXXHOLiC too, I think, since we all assume it was him who was stealing all those souls (the winged-girl arc).

This DEFINITELY made me miss Gouhou Drug! And I get a real kick out of seeing Kurogane with that no crying sign. It’s very “Quit being emo, bitch”, when taken on its own.
Sakura, eee, I can’t remember ever seeing a cooler picture of her, really.
What I got from the chapter is that Fei Wong doesn’t actually want the feathers at all, and if Sakura could make these physical memories in other dimensions without her feathers, or even without having lost her feathers in the first place, that would’ve been fine, too. The feathers are just a reason for Sakura to leave.
What’s kind of neat is how Sakura perked up at hearing her father’s name. Does that mean there’s only one Clow, or does it really not mean anything at all? XD Actually, what do you think about that, do you think there are multiple Clows and Yuukos, one in each dimension, just like everybody else?
What the heck is going to happen to the story now after all of that!

It had been brought up a few times that extremely powerful people like Yuuko…Fai…Clow Reed, will have extremely long lives, and all of them are older than they look!
Since Clow Reed and Yuuko can cross dimensions, it is my pet theory that Clow Reed spread out his lifetime’s’ across the dimensions, because he could, and maybe because he feels a need to start anew once in a while instead of stewing in one place for centuries.
Maybe he got his inspiration to create Yue/Yukito from his time as King of the Clow Country, when he met the Yukito there…

I wouldn’t be totally surprised! It’s just so hard (and scary) to imagine multiple Yuukos or Clows. But then Fujitaka is, in essence, Clow, and we know there are multiple Fujitakas, so…

Well, that’s the big question XD I’m one to think that there isn’t only ONE Clow. To me, Clow!Clow is one while CCS!Clow is another. I think the same applies to Yuuko… it’s kinda weird to imagine because she’s so fucking powerful, but why is she an exception? XD Maybe I’m wrong but, I think the rule applies to all.

I don’t know, that’s her special power, though I can’t see how that can be all that special. Although I personally think that Fei Wong wants to bring someone back from the dead (Clow?), since they made a big deal about Sakura learning that it was impossible to do (and then it’s a sort of “impossible wish”, like Yuuko’s saying). And then I can sort of see a tie, because a dead person can’t…make memories, but their body still exists? I don’t know!

I liked the signs they were holding and the fact that Kurogane had a bandage on his neck (hohoho, whatever could CLAMP be implying? ^_-) but I didn’t like the clothes and accessories. xd I’ve never liked the gothic look or whatever you want to call it. The Gouhou Drug references were pretty cool though, just because I like/love/adore Gouhou Drug.
I’ve believed for the longest time that Kurogane’s mother was killed to get him to serve under Tomoyo so then he’d be sent on the journey, so it was nice to have that confirmed.
Oh poor darling Fai. ;_; All that gorgeous hair And the Clover parallels were nice- as you said, it’s clear that’s why Clamp had him fall in love with Oruha’s song in Outo. He’s such a good mother but god only knows how much experience he actually has with a mother.

:nods: I need to pick through the lyrics of that song… both Suu and Fai were caged, like birds. Both are compared to birds. Both have a power that (apparently) made people afraid of them. Yet, each is gentle and kind, despite that power. Let’s just hope that Fai gets a happier ending than Suu.

The splash page was so similiar to some GD images XDD (I hope this means we’ll se Kazahaya and Rikuo soon!). This one is amazing *____* I love the ones with our Shaoran-tachi in, but this is particulary awesome. (luv fay with middle finger XD) (and all the papers od course).

Yeah, that’s probably the case. Clow and Yuuko knew Watanuki before-hand for sure (what they don’t know xD). And he has the same birthday as Sakura, too.

when playing with the spilers for 133 I also saw this possible conection between Fay and Suu, they have a similar ‘problem’, he does not want to get involved with someone because he is scared of his own power, and at the same time he wants it… that is terribly cruel. He created Chii becasue he felt alone, like those mecha animals that were with Suu…
His whole backstory is going to be too hurting….

I really enjoyed this chapter because of all of the answers we got. ‘course, there are still more questions to be answered, but I’m perfectly fine with what we have at the moment.

That is a very good theory. Back then, I also thought that he wanted to bring someone back to life (I thought it was Syaoran, but then we all saw the twist that the story went through, and that theory went to space xDDDD)

I guess she was waiting for the perfect time. She must have her reasons o.o If she said it earlier, maybe the gang wouldn’t have the same guts to go after the feathers (since they ARE kinda useless), maybe they would want to go against Fei Wang’s plan.

I was really impressed about Feiwan’s plans. In the end, all were used as tools, especially Sakura. Moreover, her power wasn’t her kindness, is the skill to have body memories O.O
All that makes sense, Feiwan needs the ruins to scatter Sakura’s feathers, but maybe is something deeper than that. And about Sakura’s body memories. We learn in Shurano and Sharano that this kind of memory is strongest than a mental one (maybe it explains their importance). But that’s not all. Feiwan used Sakura because, I believe, that with each memory, he will know the different types of dimensions and their nature. Therefore, he will be able to control them O.O Too much in what to think again *___*
I just can only say that this volume will be really interesting ^o^ And it can be supported because CLAMP change the schedule, and they do that when something good is going to happen.

Remember how Yuuko always says that everything is balanced? I think a normal would should have the same amount of good and bad things (50/50), but if he creates a perfect world, then it wouldn’t be balanced at all. As for WHY he wants to make one, I don’t really know, but it could be for some traumatic experienced he once had XD

From the beginning (first chapter), wasn’t Fei Wang trying to get Sakura (as a whole) until Syaoran grabbed her away from whatever was trying to suck her in and her feathers then flew away? Could he have already predicted she would lose her feathers anyway and have to travel to get them back?

Page18-19 are really brain blowing :I didn’t think that Real|Syaoran and Wata’s relation would be SO important that it would figure here and make Yuuko says : “With the price you and the people who don’t want to loose this kid paid, this kid won’t be erased from your heart.” o.O
I mean : “won’t be erased from your heart”…??!!!
Their “bond” must REALLY be something!! and add to it the 2 futures thing, which made react Syao (urrhh…scary face…) and made Yuuko talk of Wata seeing Syao’s face : is it refering to Wata’s future? or of Syaoran’s one? the fact she started to talk about Wata immediately after the 2 futures sentence is really confusing…
As for the kidnapping of Syao…seems like it wasn’t just because he was Clow-Reed descendant…he KNEW his plans!! and to shut him up Fei Wang sealed him after taking advantage of him, cloning him o.O How did he knew learn about those plans? Who is he?! T____T
As for Fei Wang’s whish…my theories : immortality, revive the dead, be the master of the universe…? 😛 *kidding*

Yes, this is what we cn get by the translations, but it could also mean what I said. Because I don’t think Fei Wang captured Syaoran JUST BECAUSE he knew of his plans. He was gonna capture him anyway. But yeah, it could be that Syaoran also knew of his plans before-hand, too ^^

I’m not really surprised at the fact that Fei Wan chose Kurogane and Fye himself. Or maybe he didn’t. He just knew that it was hitsuzen that these two meet Syaoran and Sakura and help get the feathers back. Also, him wanting Sakura along the feathers… well, in the beginning, he was trying to get Sakura through the ruins, right? This starts to make sense, but a lot is left unexplained, like Clow’s connection to Fei Wan. So exciting! x]
I can’t wait for school to end to actually get to read this. Whee.

Knowing Clamp’s penchant for out there stuff, I wouldn’t be surprised if Watanuki ended up being Sakura and Syaoron’s child from the future… which either means that they died or they decided to hide Watanuki in the past for some reason.

You mean at the first chapter? Because he wasn’t fully awaken yet o.o Remember? Syaoran put half his heart on the clone, and he “forgot” his true nature, the one of collecting the feathers with no mercy. That’s why he didn’t help Fei Wang.

Well, i wasnt talking about fye atitude in the splash page, but the way he acts in the recent chapters. I think he is not a bad boy or a sad person, but he is also not so cheerfull as he looks at the beginin.
also, about clone-syao. that makes no sense anyway, because if fei wong could predict that clone-syao will help him to recover the feather´s and so he put him in the way of fujitaka- to make clone-syao someone close to the princess, Fei sure got to know that clone-syao will be the one who interfere with his plans when he was about to capture sakura. The only reason why he couldnt get sakura at that moment was clone-syao, and clone-syao was there because Fei make it possible. So…it was a silly plan or what? i dont get it.
Hum, and about watanuki and real-syao, i know it sounds crazzy,but there are some points that make me wonder. Why ccsakura did not appear in holic, even when Yuuko knows her. CCSakura was, at the end of CCS, the greatest magician in the world. its really strange, but now yuuko is the most powerfull witch -by the moment- where´s ccsakura? Also, when watanuki´s parents appears recently, as ghosts, their faces were misteriously hidden. All of this, buggs me a lot, but even if its not true, i think watanuki and real-syao are related in a familiar way. we will see.

And I’m glad I wasn’t the only one who noticed the similarities between that and Legal Drug…although now I want another manga where Sakura’s the evil sorceress and Kurogane and Fai get an evern larger part trying to stop her! Sakura being not-so-innocent makes her much easier to like (yes, I have problems with the TRC Sakura!)
As for Watanuki’s involvement…no clue, except the link with parents’ death. And why Yuuko is so desperate (for Yuuko anyway) to have Doumeki, someone with great spiritual power) by his side.

Yeah, it sure does. Lots of people are betting on that too (it’s one of my bets as well). Maybe he’s like Kanoe? At first we think he hates his brother but then we found out he actually loves him? Although I have to admit that sometimes I really get the feeling that Fei Wang envies Clow.

I didn’t bother to read the comments, but I’m going to say it anyway. XD I don’t know if it’s just me, but Sakura’s left eye looks a bit dull in the colored picture. Could it be possible that she’s somewhat-lost vision in that eye too, especially since there’s a gash in her head above the eye now? In the first one, it’s not as noticible, but the second one has a start contrast in the color difference.
The eye thing is starting to get creepy now. If she did lose her eye, that’s 3 people in the group: Fai, Syaoran, and Sakura. And then god knows how many crossover characters are also blind in one eye.

Two ideas…
I think that Feiwang want the memory of Sakura’s body too because she (the one with the power to change the world) traveled through time and space! Because he want the power to cross dimensions…
The thing that Feiwang wants… I believe it to win death… still don’t know if he doesn’t want to die himself or wants to revive someone dead…
I think that because a theme repeated so many times is “dead people won’t come back to life” and Yuuko said once that “even Clow couldn’t do what Feiwang want to do” and Clow is dead, but according to CCS he tried to find a way to win death creating Eriol and Fujitaka.
And just look how sad Yuuko looks when she says “Anyone can dream of that…But no one can grant that dream.” … since I believe she grew some kind of affection for Clow in the past, that sentence , linked with theme of death, would explain her sorrow.
I was so proud of myself for the explanation of Kurogane’s past (and Fay’s too)! I thought it some months ago!!! Bwahahahah!
I also believe Feiwang chose them (Kuro & Fay) because also his clone!Syaoran needed them! Think of it! Now the evil clone of destruction is crossing worlds with a sword he can use thank to Kurogane, and Fay’s magic! He’s much much more powerful than when he was born!

Alright, I got no time at the moment to read everyone’s posts right now, or evn really be here, but I saw “place your bets” on Fei Wang’s wish, and cracked:
Alright, if this isn’t some really complicated CLAMP surprise (Which I’m actually not thinking. Most intricate plans like these tend to have the most simpler reasons behind them) then there’s only one thing I can think of that makes perfect sense –
Fei Wang wants to revive someone.
Now, as to WHO I have no guess (okay, a couple XD) or at least no surity, but I am totally convinced that a Fei Wang is trying to defy the laws of death. And with a manga like xxxHOLiC hanging over the heads of TRC, I think it’s assumable that this is NOT a doable , just like killing has such insane prices. So, he’s probably trying to get all this power to overthrow the balance or something and break the natural laws of the worlds so he can break the death one. :3 and there’s my two cents.
