SUGOOOOOOOOOI NEWS !!!!!

Tsubasa:
– Next chapters scheduled (red means new):

05/31 – Shonen Magazine #26 – Chapter 117 – 3 Color pages, beginning of tank 16 (on sale).
06/07 – Shonen Magazine #27 – Chapter 118.
06/14 – Shonen Magazine #28 – Chapter 119.
06/21 – Shonen Magazine #29 – Chapter 120.
06/28 – Shonen Magazine #30 – No Tsubasa scheduled.

Book:
– Tsubasa #15 will be released on July 14th.

– The cover for the second Anime Guide can be seen here.

They heard my prays !!!!! There will be another ED Song Theme ! THANK GOSH, Reason sucked *ahem* so:

They have also sang the OP Theme of Nightwalker and Trinity Blood.

Does anyone know that band? Are they good? They look rather creepy XD and guess what, they also do music for Death Note. I hope it’ll be better than Reason at least.

The single for that song has a release date scheduled for August 2nd.

– XXXHOLiC #9 is going to be released on July 14th, alongside with Tsubasa #15.

– A Tsutomu MizushimaXAgeha Ohkawa interview is going to be published on “Animation Note“ magazine No. 2 (Seibundo publisher). The interview will be centered on CLAMP and XXXHOLiC anime. Interesting…

– The release of the first chapter/volume of XXXHOLiC’s novel was postponed for the end of June, although there isn’t any specific date yet. It was originally scheduled for June 15th.

I shall post here the content for the rest of the DVDs when their release is near (specially because the content might change in due course). Just a couple of things to notice:
– CLAMP will draw a second box to hold volumes 5~8 *-*
– IMO, the XXXHOLiC DVDs sound WAY more interesting than Tsubasa’s, the only thing left for them to be perfect is to have the covers drawn by CLAMP, but unfortunately that won’t happen. 2 boxes is wonderful, though.
– If you like the anime series and if you could buy the DVDs, PLEASE do it. It has been confirmed that the second season IS possible as long as the DVD sales go well.

ETC:
– The Animedia July edition (out on June 10th) will come with a Tsubasa illustration drawn by CLAMP as a present.

– The cover (still very small) for the children’s book CLAMP is drawing the illustrations for, Welcome to the Witch’s Place, can be seen here. Cute isn’t it? ^^

– CLAMP will write an essay/article and draw an illustration for the “Mobile Soldier GUNDAM – THE ORIGIN – Deluxe Edition” #2 (『愛蔵版 機動戦士ガンダム THE ORIGIN』２). The magazine must be part of the many GUNDAN-related magazines and will be out on June 26th under Kadokawa publishings. (I don’t know anything about this magazine so if I said something stupid please correct me).

– Finally, this post’s highlight:

I knew tonight was a lucky night ! ^__^ WHO never thought after watching the first one “are they ever going to make one with the other new characters?” and they heard us, FINALLY ! Here it is !

CLAMP IN WONDERLAND 2 – 1995~2006

Opening date: Undecided
Director: Mitsuyuki Masuhara
Character Designer: Hiromi Kato
Animation: MADHOUSE

Opening Theme: action!
Performance: Maaya Sakamoto

Ending Theme: Oh!Yeah!

Impressions and hopes:

First, wow… I mean, WOW ! I’ve been dreaming with a second volume of CLAMP IN WONDERLAND ever since I first watched it and thought, how would be great to have a new version with all the other characters who aren’t at the first.
My doubt is, it says “1995~2006″, does that mean works previously than 1995 won’t be there? I hope not… but I can see it would be a big trouble to show EVERYBODY in 4 minutes.

The date is still undecided… But I think/hope it’ll be released still this year.

MADHOUSE IS DOING THE ANIMATION !!!! I couldn’t be more pleased with that, YES ! They’re back ! Thank you ;_; There’s no better studio to deal with CLAMP.

The staff isn’t the same of the first one. Morio Asaka directed the first one while Takahashi Kumiko did the chara design. The new director may look like a newbie by his profile, but for two 4-minutes long videos, I don’t think you need to be that experienced. Besides, in 1994, Morio Asaka was also a newbie ^^”
The director directed a couple of episodes for Paradise Kiss and BECK, I think he should do fine.

As for the character designer, his/her style seems to be rather childish, but that might be only because s/he had to follow the manga lines for the animes s/he adapted from. Among his/her works, it’s that Super Pig anime XDDDD And also the short movie of Azumanga Dayo.

Maaya Sakamoto singing the OP (the main video) is very very nice ! She has an amazing voice which I love and it all depends on who’s going to write the song…
Maaya is almost like CLAMP’s official singer xDDD

ROUND TABLE and Nino doing the ED is nice as well, they’re cute. For those who don’t remember, they are the people who did Chobits’ OP.

The song titles are a little weird, aren’t they? XDDDD They don’t say much about them…

Now, onto the REAL hopes:

To make this project as successful as the first one, I HOPE, oh how I hope, that CLAMP will be as much involved as possible, just like in the first one. Which was:

Storyboard: Mokona Apapa & Mick Nekoi
Song Lyrics: Nanase Ohkawa

This time, I hope at least Ohkawa to write the song lyrics while either Mokona or Nekoi (or both) to do the storyboard. C’mon, it’s YOUR video, CLAMP, you can work on it *hopes*

I’m VERY excited for this project, I’ll be looking forward for more information.

  1. I really like BUCK TICK’s stuff. I have the Nightwalker song uploaded if you’re interested in hearing it. Of course, it’s their older stuff, but I heard some of their newer stuff and it still sounds pretty good.

    And that’s so awesome to hear about a CLAMP in Wonderland 2! It is very exciting news. Yay!

    BUT YAY!!!! CLAMP IN WONDERLAND!! AND NO RANDOM COMPANY DOING THE ANIMATION!!! Madhouse did CCS as well as X yea? that means it’s good enough for me 😀

    i always thought there were like one artist/group who did the majority of a series’ songs, like Ali Project and Wish, but it does seem like Maaya Sakamoto is EVERYWHERE O_O

    but what works have CLAMP done from 1995-2006? Gohou Drug, X (hey! it is still on D: ), CCS, Tsubasa, xxxHolic and a couple more? i think that’s enough people to budge in for a 4 minute video o__o

    oh god, i love(d) that super pig show XDD it’s the one where a girl turns into a pig or something yea? i even went to find the theme songs .___.

  4. Ahh Buck Tick is an awesome band! If you’ve ever heard the band Depeche Mode before they are very similar. Dark and sexy! >:)

  5. Yay CLAMP in Wonderland and Madhouse! I hope we got some more wacky illustrations to go with the video.

    Although Maaya singing the OPENING? See, it’s just that I can’t conceive Wonderland without a very catchy, dance-like song. And let’s face it, and I hope you rabid fans don’t hit me, but she can’t sing moving songs for fuck. I haven’t heard a song from her that isn’t slooooow, and if she sings slow, the video will be fucked IMHO.

    It should be the opposite. Round Table and Nino doing the opening, Maaya doing the ending. Because of the stupid song performers, the idea is suddenly not so appealing to me. Unless I turn the speakers off and see the purty animation.

    BUCK-TICK’s songs have a creepy air, so they’ll fit fine. Funny enough, the series you mention are both vampire ones XDDD

      On CLAMP-NET, you see it under the tag “EVENT”, so I think it’s going to be a huge event just like the first one, I would expect lots of images (CLAMP will surely draw the covers) and goodies and everything else ^^

      About Maaya, I’ve heard a couple of her songs, apart from the CLAMP ones, and I think she can do something similar to “Anata Dake No Fushigi No Kuni”, which wasn’t all that dancing. I don’t think they randomly picked her to sing it, it all depends on the lyrics and how they plan to make the video look like.

      Round Table doing the OP? Ow please no, “Let Me Be With You” is utterly annoying to me xDDDDD

      Ow really? That’s good… I have a feeling that anything can be better than Reason. It’s shame the song is not written by Ohkawa, like she did for Chobits, but we can’t have EVERYTHING written by her I guess xDD

  8. A new CLAMP In Wonderland… so exciting! XD It never even occured to me that they might make another. I mean, sure I wanted to see Sakura, Chii, Kobato & everyone, but it’s not as if they don’t already have their own animated series (except for poor little Kobato…) but this seems so exciting to see them all… together… yay :3

    • Indeed CLAMP got so famous after 95 that almost every series got animated XDDDD But not all of them and not all by Madhouse. This is a chance to see the ones which weren’t animated and the ones who WERE animated, everybody at the same time with sugoi animation *-*

      I was expecting this video would come up once CLAMP celebrated their 20th anniversary, but I’m glad it came much earlier ^__^

  11. Whoooa! BUCK-TICK? That’s amazing! (‘course, I haven’t heard any of their stuff, but their reputation precedes them.) A friend recommended them to me while I was getting into Dir en grey, but I got too lazy to download their discography.

    Yay for a second CLAMP in Wonderland! I haven’t seen the first one yet (…believe it or not…), but it’s great to know that Madhouse is working on it.

AND WITH MADHOUSE YESH!!!! @__@ they really can deal with clamp, you put a big smile in my face with that new, thank you *-*, madhouse madhouse @u@ oh sooo happy!. Oh, Maaya doing the opening is just coolness, her voice is beautiful, and I do have heard just many of her songs, shameful not all, but many many *ish a fan* XD so I know she can do fine with a moving song, cuz the title “Action!” is the only thing that tell me, it will be a more like a moving song x3 and woots! and round table is totally fine too!!, it was a coincidence, just some minutes before reading that, I was listening to “Let me be with you” XDDDDDDDD hahahah, well *-* I’m just too happy, please let us know when the date for the clamp in wonderland release is out ;3; *puppyeyes* thank you chibi yuuto-sama!! x3 you made my day with this!

    I’m really waiting for CiW 2, sure it’ll be a great video, like the first one ^^. And I don’t think the old ones [1995-] will appear, so much characters for only 4 minutes XD, but sure X will feature (X is non-temporal XD)… really it’ll be a like a Tsubasa world with all crossovers XD. And… Maaya Sakamoto *_* xD.
    Now I think it, seems to be like “North” and “South” artbooks :D.

    About XXXHOLiC anime, I’m not with the “if the DVDs sales well, it’ll be a second season” ¬¬U. Seem to be like XXXHOLiC is an non main-plot and trascendent story anime, like it can be cut, edited or continued as they wish -_-U. Well, about Reason, it was “cute”, I didn’t hated it, not loved either ^^U. Let’s see how good the new one is (for ex., Ningyo Hime was so much better than Reason d’être, and look at the first title… XD).

    • The price is very salty indeed… But there are lots of things if you buy the first run, like the Box drawn by CLAMP, the Booklet, the Picture Label, etc ^^ I think it’s worthy. Plus, there’s an audio commentary by Ohkawa which in my view, is just priceless xDDDD

  19. Kyaaaa!!! What a CLAMP-ey last two days. (Would you believe it, I’ve saved up three episodes of Holic to watch all at once).
    Wai! – Maaya Sakamoto and Round Table! I like them both, and I’ve only heard the one Round Table song.
    And Wai!! – Madhouse! How I have missed them! I hope CLAMP has learned their lesson now and all future anime versions will be done by Madhouse.
    And Wai! Wai – CLAMP in Wonderland! I only have the opening to the first one, I haven’t been able to find the whole clip. But, maybe if the second one comes out, people will share the first one too.
    And does anyone know if Tsubasa has been translated by anyone? I’m dying wondering what they’re saying! (I’m also dying wondering if Syaoran is dying, but I guess everyone’s like that, eh?).

  20. Buck-Tick is a great J-Rock band, if you are into the darker shade of J-Rock, as opposed to, say, L’arc en ciel.

    Oh, I’m so happy they finally decide to do another Clamp in Wonderland. It’s been killing me to see all those great crossover pictures but no animated shorts.

    • I’m not very fond of J-Rock, to tell you the truth… but I can make some exceptions xD

      I hope Mokona does the main storyboard like in the first one, that way we’ll have more “coherence” in the sequences.

  21. First of all: I like “reason”!!!!! Maybe it has not much to do with xxxHOLiC, but it´s such a cute song…
    OMG, so much merchandising… poor fans… CLAMP is really the king of merchandising, which sucks a little… really few of them are really necessary.

    Second of all: Yay for Ohkawa-sensei´s participation on the comments for xxxHOLiC´s DVD!!! That´s just amazing. I´d love to hear (and understand… ¬¬) her comments about the episodes. Maybe if it goes well, they´ll invite her again for 5~8´s DVD, right? Let´s wish for that.

    Third of all: CLAMP IN WONDERLAND 22222222222222??????????????? I´VE ALWAYS DREAMED OF THAT, OMG AK@#$4%%LAJDL***7&AJ**D!!!!!!
    The singers were very well chosen (I love both!), and I just wish that Ali Project would be back. I like their works and they were a “CLAMP band” for a certain period of time. Does anybody know if the band still exists? I haven´t heard of anything after Wish and Clover (not the song from the Clover video, of course).
    And it´s nice that it is 1995-2006. They have to move on and I´ve always thought how it would be if there was a continuation. I just hope they do something more interesting with the ending. Princess Mokona walking and jumping repeatedly was not THAT interesting.
    Madhouse makes me feel calmer about it (Bee Train?? imagine!!! X+) but I wouldn´t care if it was Production IG. I believe P. IG was the best studio for xxxHOLiC, for example. The “philosophical center” the studio has (never forget Ghost in the shell and its series, JIn-Roh, Vampire Hunter D and Evangelion Movie). There are ideas that Madhouse would just copy completely from the manga. P. IG added interesting concepts to the series, and Ohkawa-sensei approved them. I´m VERY satisfied with P. IG´s work and I don´t believe Madhouse would do any better.
    Chobits was horrible, for God´s sake. The animation and the scripts were not the same quality as former CLAMP-based series (X was wonderful, Angelic Layer was nice). Except for the episodes that were adapted from the manga (which were nice), half of the series could be just thrown away without any changes in storyline or visual narrative. Maybe that´s what made CLAMP change studios (or not.).
    Well, Bee Train is just disastrous. They just copy the manga… thank God. If they took their time to invent anything they could just die for me.

    Very optimistic! 2006 is CLAMP´s year!!! (again?? Is every year a CLAMP year???? I LOVE THAT!!!! I hope it goes on for as long as possible!)

    • I really think the only worthy merchandisings are only the ones at CLAMP-NET. The DVDs, the Books, CDs, etc. They release a LOT of crap and you have to select what’s really worthy XDD

      I’m so happy as well for Ohkawa’s commentary ;__; Alison-chan said she’ll definitely rip the audio for me so I’m even more happy !
      Until now, there’s no mention of new audio commentaries (she could well do one for each DVD), but I highly hope she’ll come back at least for another one.

      I love Ali Project as well ! I think it would do better than ROUND TABLE, but I haven’t heard the song so I won’t judge it ^^ As far as I know, the band still exist, yes, you could check their official site for more information.

      As for the ending, LOL ! But endings always kinda of suck, compared to the OPs, at least. It’s where the credits will go, so they want the attention to go all for the credits instead of the video itself. But yeah, I hope it’ll be something more, uh, exciting XD

      About Madhouse, well, we discussed that already yesterday XDDDD but I’m totally blind when it comes to Madhouse. They have left my jaw dropped for many times when I’m watching something made by them. I don’t have ANY problem with P IG’s Watanuki, but P IG’s Yuuko isn’t really what I would call “perfect adaptation”. Let’s wait for the video and see which Yuuko looks better ^^
