XXXHOLiC 108 !

No Tsubasa this week, but there’s XXXHOLiC’s goodness at The Room of Requirement.


Very pretty splash page ! Loved all the butterflies and the incense coming from inside the cage.

So spirits are fond of the noises coming from the shuffling of the little pieces of mahjong game O.o I wonder where CLAMP based that from.

Yuuko getting madly excited is just love *HEART* XDDDDD She’s completely nuts.

So the woman’s spirit depart to the other world, and she touches Watanuki on the shoulder as a “Thank you”, very sweet. It’s a shame we didn’t get to see her face, and even though her spiritual body beautifully decomposes itself in sakura petals (JUST LIKE a real Sakurazukamori), I’m still not sure about her being Setsuka. I guess we’ll never find that out.

Did I mention that the scene where her spiritual body decomposes itself in sakura petals is VERY pretty? Yes? Then I say it again XDDD

Now we wait for 2 sad weeks to get a new chapter with 4 color pages… u.u

  1. Yuuko’s face in the panel when she tells Watanuki to strip is positively and hilariously evil.

    This chapter was really good, it was funny and beautifully drawn (I totally agree with the sakura petals part, it was so pretty).

    Teasing the audience is just their way of saying “YES, YES IT IS.” Or at least someone STRIKINGLY SIMILAR. Hmm.

  3. After reading the translation of both 107 and 108, I’m amazed at how much CLAMP is getting away with the hintage. CLAMP would be so cruel if they don’t make Doumeki and Watanuki get together by series’ end.

    FINALLY, Yuuko has a decent chapter, I’ve been missing her so much. And her craziness. She would fit so perfectly in our group XD

    And I haven’t read X, but I know Seishirou’s story, and that lady being Seishirou’s mother theory would fit so well.
    And yes, it was gorgeous *_*

    Now I’m off to sedate myself for two weeks, see ya! XD

    Actually it seemed more like the scenes you get from Clamp when a Sakurazukamori has disposed of their latest ‘victim’…perhaps the woman was a sacrifice to the sakura?

    Also much love for the Domekei/Watinuki obviousness…am very intruged to see how much Clamp can get away with!

I think I would’ve enjoyed this more if I had have even a slightest idea of what Mahjong is (I know it’s a game but that’s about all) o_o; Doumeki’s face when Watanuki was talking about Kohane-chan was weird. Does he know something we don’t or is he just worried Watanuki will get himself in a pinch like with the lady-ghost before? I know my fangirlisism is saying he’s jealous but I don’t think Holic would have anything so obvious (at least not yet).

    Yuuko is the best as always ^-^ Does she have a room full of manga or something? If she does, I hope we’ll get to see it too ^-^ It was nice to see Yuuko goofing off since in the last chapter she was being so serious because of FakeSyaoran.

    Two weeks till the next Holic! Yikes! o_o

    • I enjoyed it all because of Yuuko’s total craziness, and the “ritual” of playing Mahjong can send off the deads.

  9. Wai!! I want Watanuki to inherit the super powers of Strip Mahjong Girl!! Is it a Miyuki-chan reference, do you think? Or just that CLAMP likes games like that?
    Even though Watanuki and Doumeki are super-cute together, I’m still voting for Zashiki Warashi. Did I spell her name right? I think Doumeki and Watanuki will end up like Tomoyo and Sakura.

  10. the whole mahjong scene reminds me of gohou drug. both kazahaya and watanuki are like ‘WTF’, lose (which is indicated by the pile of boxes on their heads) and Kakei and Yuuko are being very smug about it…
    yeah, lovely chapter!

    • Watanuki is Kazahaya with dark and short hair and glasses XDDDD
      They share so many things in common, I can totally picture this scene going on in Gouhou Drug as well. Ah, how I miss GD u.u

  11. Strip Majong XDDD like in Miyuki-chan. Yuuko is so naughty XDD LOVE HER MOST! It’s not over because Kimihiro have something to do with Kohane-chan and Doumeki is still worry. Hope for the next chapter.

  12. I have a question:
    I’ve been getting xxxHOLiC scanlations from BWYS. How are they on chapter 49 (I think) but 108 is being released? Is there a list of Chapters per volume anywhere?

    • That is because BWYs counts a chapter each time there’s a new splash page (usually when an arc ends), while on YoungMagazine, not every chapter has a splash page, they count each chapter every time XXXHOLiC is published.
