Volume 5 of XXXHOLiC Rei debuted at the 17th position in Oricon’s weekly ranking, with an estimate of 17,243 copies sold in its first week of sales for the regular edition. The Special Edition (CLAMP x SOUND THEATER Blu-ray) did not appear in Oricon’s top 50.
It is always worth mentioning that Oricon only takes into account a certain number of shops and preorders are likely not taken into account. These numbers are only an estimate and it’s possible that the real figures are higher than these, considering volume 5 was available for pre-order for a very long time.
More importantly, the ranking is covering sales up until November 30th and XXXHOLiC Rei #5 came out on November 29th, therefore these numbers cover only two days of sales and not a whole week. I suspect we will have more accurate numbers next week.
I know for a fact that it was particularly hard to get the Special Blu-ray Edition. It was sold out in a lot of stores.
