Kobato. Exam. 1 by CnL !

The waiting is finally over ! Our main project, Kobato., is finally back !

As expected, the series has been restarted, with new drawings and everything. The story, however, will probably remain the very same.

This marks the first chapter scanned by Alison, who did an amazing work at it, followed by the brilliant and so faithful translations of Jamie.

And speaking of members, we have a new one joining our staff. Claudio-san (oujiro_chan on LiveJournal) will be in charge of scanning some of our future projects. He’s a great admirer of CLAMP’s works (and also a very good friend of mine ^^”). You can check his profile at the Members section. Welcome, Oujirou-san ! ^__^

        It’s pretty interesting that they called the first batch of chapters “temporary” and…they really DID turn out to be temporary! Hmmm.

          I KNOW !!! They say it has to do with “Kobato” being a temporary title but MEEEEEH, later they pop up saying that they were called to do ONLY 7 chapters? To me they put the Temporary there because they knew it would be well, “temporary” ^^”””

            And you know, it’s neat to see them start Kobato from scratch in a new magazine, and then to see that last bit of X republished and all, but… Where’s Lawful Drug? 😦

    I didn´t expect to read the chapter, erhm exam, until the next week but i’m open to read it before ^^

    PS. When are we going to see the next “exam”? I don’t know about Newtype publishing dates >_

    • You’re welcome ! And it would have been even more fast XD If it weren’t for the problems I had, I would have posted it one day earlier ^^ We want to release them as soon as the raw scans appear ^^

      We don’t know yet. CLAMP-NET will be updated today and we’ll see whether Kobato. is in the next issue or not (probably yes). Check my LJ later today to see that ^__^

  13. I’m ashamed to admit that even though I’m a fan of CLAMP’s works, I had never heard of Kobato before. *sigh*

    Care to tell me what is it about and is it as good as X, TB, CCS, TRC, and Holic?

    • You never heard of it? Oh, that’s so bad. But it’s understandable since it’s a pretty new series and until some days ago, there was only 7 chapters published. But you should really check it out, specially if you like CCS (it’s very similar in some points).

      It’s still too soon to say whether is as good as the series you mentioned because it just started, but you can check out the story and characters at the Kobato. fansite I created: http://fukanounashigoto.free.fr ^__^

    It’s so funny! Poor Kobato.. (she’s completely out of mind). There is the scene when Ioryogi-san starts to call her “Dobato” XD

    I forgot to comment when you posted the raw (bad Lulu! *knocks self*), but I actually enjoyed this first chapter more than what I did with its “Temporary” counterpart. Maybe it’s that I already know what the series it’s about, and thus what to expect, or maybe it’s that I liked they gave an insight on Kobato’s beginnings (and I agree with you, she’s so charmingly stupid XD). I kind of missed seeing more of her backstory in the old chapters =\

    And I suppose everybody felt like this, but when I saw the first page and that “you understand what you have to do to get your wish granted, right?” I immediately thought… “wha? she’s another customer of… HER!?” XD

      That was certainly an interesting point. And yes, if this was “0”, I wanna see chapter “-1” and under xDDDDDD

    I waited to read the exam.1 until you released your scanlations! I did well because this one has a lot of text… is more like a “common beginning”, not like the ~Temporary~ one. Anyways, I think both of them will link in some point of the story.
    Poor Kobato, she did her best to get the first wish fulfilled for the bottle, and then ~Kari~ stopped xDD.

    Thanks again, and congratulations, !! I know you will really work hard for this ^^.
