Card Captor Sakura Clear Card arc #10 cover

The cover of Card Captor Sakura Clear Card arc #10 has been announced by Kodansha.

As previously announced, the special version will come with a Character Song CD and a minibook drawn by CLAMP. The cover of the minibook was also announced:

The character song is entitled “A Letter to the Stars” and is a duet between Sakura (Sakura Tange) and Syaoran (Motoko Kumai).

The minibook drawn by CLAMP is entitled “Until we meet again” and will cover the period of time where Syaoran was in Hong Kong, before the beginning of Clear Card arc.

Unfortunately, the song lyrics were not written by Nanase Ohkawa-sensei, which was sort of expected considering they didn’t announce anything in that Animate advertisement. Let’s still hope the lyrics will capture the essence of the characters.

Below is the full staff list for the song and CD.

[Song] “A Letter to the stars”

Lyrics: Kohmi Project
Composition: Kohmi Hirose
Arrangement: Yasushi Munemoto
Song: Sakura Kinomoto (Sakura Tange), Syaoran Li (Motoko Kumai)

Both versions of Card Captor Sakura Clear Card arc #10 will be released on April 1st.

That cover is giving me strong original series energy. I don’t know why but it feels like it could have been one of the covers for the original series. The minibook cover is absolutely adorable, and it’s fine that they look slightly younger this time around. They are supposed to, after all the minibook takes place before Clear Card arc. It’s exciting for me to know that the minibook will cover some actual plot instead of a slice of life situation between Sakura and Syaoran. Not that there isn’t value in that!!! But don’t people always wanted to know what was Syaoran was doing in Hong Kong? We might finally learn more about it.

  1. Fun fact: Kohmi Hirose is the singer of Groovy!! ;D Everything has to be “in the family” in this franchise, hahahaha!
I also hope the lyrics will suit the characters! And OMG I saw the back of the mini-book and it features a pic of Syaoran from the content of the mini-book, with someone taking his chin….YELAN??
I’m gonna die next month, this is too good to be true! How long have we been waiting for a restrospective on Syaoran’s time in Hong Kong??
Now, a little hope I’ll throw here, even though I see this difficult to become true: that volume 11 will see the “Kaito and Akiho” version of the project, maybe with a minibook about their travels across the world….and a duet song….one can only dream! :,)

Oh really? I didn’t even bother to check but now I regret not doing so xD I thought she was a random singer. I am very glad they are keeping things “in the family” as you said.

I am very positive that that is Yelan’s hand!

I think this makes a lot of sense. But are they popular enough for that?

Eh, this is a tricky question!
If I had to reply based on the international fandom, then I’d have to reply no.
But the japanese fandom is something else. Not only there’s a little community of YunaAki fans, but there are also SyaoSaku fans who, when there’s an emotional content of Kaito and Akiho in a chapter, express their wish for these two to find happiness, yes, together.
It’s not huge like SyaoSaku of course, but it’s something.
Then again, didn’t they do a special mini-chapter for SyaoSaku and one for YunaAki? 🙂
Volume 11 would come out towards Autumn, September hopefully. The month of Akiho’s birthday! The whole duality Spring/Autumn that characterizes Sakura and Akiho….damn this works too much, I’d better stop daydreaming XD

  2. Offfft I’m excited for the content we get in the mini book but the picture is giving me major TRC vibes – obviously the glass tube but I feel like there might have been a image of them as kids or something. Couple that with the ominousness of chapter 51 and I am definitely nervous!

  3. I do feel the left cover has the power of the original series (Clow Card arc) as well!! Which is a good thing to me! Now I can finally feel the soul from Sakura chan. : )

I DID! I SO SO SO DID!!
I’ve waited forever to see something, anything, about Syaoran’s time in Hong Kong! I was hoping for a flashback but I’ll take anything!!
I’m so happy about this special edition! 😀 Together with volume 3 that came with the 2 bears OAD, this is the best special content we ever got so far!! The SxS illustration is pure love and getting to listen to a duet by Tange and Kumai after all these years is pure happiness!! ❤
