I just wanted to post about it, for consistency’s sake, and say: HOLY SHIT! This is getting very CLAMPy.
I promise to do a more detailed review next month for Chapter 25.

It’s weird that there’s not that much to say about this chapter? I’m glad we got confirmation that some of the Sakura Cards are safe with Syaoran, like everyone has guessed up until now, but the fact that their power source has apparently been converted into moon magic could spell disaster if Syaoran tries to confront Kaito.
I’m glad Kero and Yue trust Eriol. At this point, though, even I’m getting frustrated with all the secrecy, ahaha. I’m ready for this story to end!
The big twist was a little cheap — I have a sense Ohkawa wrote this scene with the show in mind, and next week’s episode is going to end exactly at the moment Sakura pulls the hood off the MCF’s face. We know Sakura and Syaoran will be happy together in the end, and the one explanation that does not make sense is the idea that Syaoran has been intentionally hurting Sakura, so this feels like some cheap last-minute drama.

LOL!! that big twist was who i initially theorised was the MCF until akiho showed up! my very first thought as soon as the MCF first appeared was omg is that syaoran?? similar height, strange behavior… berfore akiho showed up i was like well he has form after what we’ve seen in trc! but i definitely think that akiho is MCF for sure.
i actually think that sakura experienced a reverse dream (is that what kaito called it?) syaorans saying he’ll protect her no matter what but what sakura suddenly dreams is syaoran wanting to harm her no matter what. that was kaitos doing no doubt. he must have realised that akiho started to see this dream alice as sakura rather than herself so he probably figured that sakura would see akiho as the MCF in her next dream since the two of them are resonating right? so he pulled a reverse dream move to disguise akiho. and maybe to push sakura even further over the edge if she feels threatened by the person she loves the most, she’d feel alone and betrayed i imagine. so more clear cards to be created in response to that.

Anyways, interesting to have dreams mentioned. I hope that Syaoran at the end is just illusion from the “reversed dream” Kaito mentioned to Akiho because Syaoran using ways that he still cannot tell others to protect Sakura.

Ok. So here is where I think we are:
1. Kaito is trying to protect Akiho from … something that is meant to happen to her, and I thing it´s related to her family (maybe the consequences of a broken contract)
— The way he plans to protect Akiho seems to be, using Sakura magic, give Sakura the place of Akiho. Maybe that´s why he tell Akiho that dreaming about Alice being Sakura means something good.
2. So Akiho is now dreaming about Alice looking like Sakura, but until now she thought Alice was herself, so now:
— She is jealous??
— She is worried because she feels that Sakura , in the dream, isn´t in the right place, which is a dangerous one: stay in “clockland”, fight the dragon/ be under the command of the dragon.
3. Sakura is dreaming about Shaoran being the person who is using the robe
— Sakura´s dreams until now have been premonitory, so
— From the first chapters we thought/knew Akiho was the one using the robe since both have the same height
— But now since Shaoran has some of Sakura´s power: the one from the original cards, maybe what he wants to do is:
— When that time arrives: when Kaito will try to give Sakura the place of Akiho; Shaoran will try to trick Kaito and take Sakura´s place (And maybe that is what Touya will/wants to do since he also has some of Sakura´s magic)
CONCLUSION: Akiho is meant to be the robe figure, Kaito wants to give that place to Sakura and Shaoran wants to protect her taking that place.
Something that I want to highlight: Kero saying: “Eriol has to have a reason for wanting to tell Sakura she’s producing cards of her own. But we can’t confirm why that is right now.” Yes, this better has a good answer.

I think that Sakura’s subconscious is mixing together stuff that worry her. The cloaked figure and it’s identety and the reason behind Shaoran’s acting a bit down. It has been noted by Tomoyo, that Shaoran has grown taller (not by much though), and we could see it in both manga and anime that he’s now taller that the girls. While the cloaked figure was shown to be around Sakura’s height. I believe that deep down Sakura knows or at least suspects that Shaoran has something to do with her cards going blank. This is why he appeared as the identity who is shown trying to take Sakura’s magic away.
I’m staring to wonder if Sakura is going to receive any proper training regarding her powers any time soon. As it has been noted many times, her powers are becoming too great and growing out of her control.

literally everyone who’s close to her will probably insist on it once all this is over. eriol is probably the one best suited to train her since they have similar powers,and he’s likely been through something very similar repetitively when he was clow. im sure syaoran will teach her a lot of magical knowledge and maybe even magical history considering she’s clow reeds direct descendant. only CLAMP knows how far back in history he went.

once again great chapter. the story has consistently been darker/ faster paced since sakura saw her mothers angel ghost huh.
mmm like panicle said, weirdly somehow there isn’t a lot to comment on, and the other comments cover my thoughts too.
dare i say im starting to see a parallel with kaito and syaoran…(?) both are desperately trying to protect and save the one they love most. (assuming thats the case for akiho & kaito) we know kaito is going too far and is almost crossing that line (fei wong reed scenario) but will syaoran do the same? eriols certainly worried about him pushing himself beyond his limits, and now theres a chance he’ll get hurt without eriol instructing him constantly.
so yue and kero jump on the “Time waiting” train too… frustrating but not surprising i guess. maybe now we’ll see those two finally acting as her guardians.
great moment of sakura locking eyes with akiho!! those pages looked so cool. sakuras expression was drawn so perfectly that no words were needed but you just know what she’s thinking and feeling.
gotta say that syaoran in the robes reveal took me by surprise! but then kaitos stepping up his manipulation so i dont think ill trust anything sakura dreams for a while. i really think that was a reverse dream, maybe caused by kaito. buth then again who knows?! without doubt syaorans going to do something super reckless so anything could happen!
cant wait for more!! i love the suspense!

Wow! What a cliffhanger! Did anyone get Tsubasa vibes from the look in Syaoran’s eyes?
And yet, I feel we (and Sakura) are being misled here. For one, this vision she had of Syaoran was different from her other dreams where she seems to be transported to “Clockland.” And this vision came right after Akiho put on her robes and went into a trance. The look in Syaoran’s eyes with the reveal also looked quite trance-like and cold. If it were the Syaoran we knew, I’m sure he’d look much more guilty at the prospect of having deceived Sakura all this time.
So as Toshakun said, it could be that Sakura’s subconscious is turmoil right now and is bringing in her subconscious worries about Syaoran. Or this vision was implanted into Sakura’s dreams, either by Akiho herself in her trance-state while wearing her robes, or Kaito via Akiho. We never really see what Kaito is doing while Akiho is unconscious (in the manga at least). If Akiho and Sakura are in sync now, then Kaito can manipulate Sakura and stir up a lot of chaotic feelings with visions like these, prompting her to make more Clear Cards for whatever purpose he needs them for.
This also happened shortly after the very quick dream of “You can’t go back anymore.” I’m wondering if this was said by Syaoran. The Japanese uses “omae” for “you,” so even though the message is the same as Nadeshiko’s warning, I don’t think it’s her saying this. Could be Kaito, but I’d have to double check his speech patterns. But if Syaoran, then maybe Syaoran was on Sakura’s mind. And maybe we’re getting a Kingdom Hearts scenario where the MCF changes looks depending on who sees it lol.
Speaking of “You can’t go back anymore,” could this be a warning from Syaoran to Sakura? Words of encouragement and determination to himself? A foreboding message to Kaito/Akiho? Kaito seemed quite disturbed when Akiho was describing her dream. The mention of an opposite dream come true could have been referring to the Syaoran vision, but it also could have been just Kaito trying to reassure Akiho (and himself) after her “nightmare,” a nightmare that Kaito is working hard to keep from coming true. Something must have happened to Akiho/Kaito that Kaito is working hard to reverse, and Kaito fears that his efforts will be come to naught.
“You can’t go back anymore” indeed, after seeing Syaoran under the cloak, this is a big turning point for Sakura and her innocent cardcaptor-ing days. She can’t unsee that vision of Syaoran, so it’s probably gonna be a big driving force behind her actions in the next chapter!

Also, the new key (and cards?) may also be due to Syaoran’s power mixing with Sakura’s because if you look at the magic circle, it has the kanji from Syaoran’s rashinban and stars on it. And when Sakura was first attacked by Gale, the key leapt out and protected her. The key might respond to him but I don’t think he’d full on try to steal it like the dream MCF. Wouldn’t he have learned from his introductory episode that stealing from Sakura is a no-no? lol

i know right! i also thought it was code geass, and i thought it for quite a while till i saw nurdystuff comment! mmm well it really does seem that there is a lot of tsubasa-esque links goin on huh?
