Can we just say how cute the splash page is with their hands entangled like that? Is this really a CLAMP series? LOL
That wollen vest Yukito is wearing is so Yukito, I was just flipping the other day the original CCS manga and I saw Yukito wearing one of these and it made me wonder that it’s been a while since CLAMP drew something like that. I think Fye was the last character that worn one.
I love how Kero is like “enough with this shit, show up, Yue!!” and Yukito is like “WTF?” xD
So everything happened exactly like the dream Sakura saw — the cards have all “cleared”. She brought them straight to Yue but apparently neither him or Kero know what this is all about. This means that Clow never told them anything about this happening (Clow didn’t explain everything? You don’t say!).
Can we assume that Yukito’s house will now become a sort of headquarters to discuss magic matters? Seems appropriate to me.
It seems like Yue can no longer feel magic coming out of the cards. He asks Sakura to check is the key is working and it still is. Also Sakura didn’t lose any of her powers despite of what happened.
It’s so cute to see Yue being kind towards Sakura ❤
Then, Sakura tells Tomoyo and Syaoran about what happened to the cards and while Tomoyo seems alarmed, Syaoran answers with a mere “…I don’t know what it is” which is at least suspicious to me. The way the frames are arranged and his concerned expression later makes me think that he is lying about it — he probably has a good reason for lying if that’s really the case, of course. I just think that if he didn’t know anything about it, he would have felt alarmed like Tomoyo (or more).
So the mystery regarding the class assignments is finally cleared: Sakura is with Tomoyo and Chiharu while Syaoran is with Naoko and Yamazaki, who look slightly older/taller =) Isn’t it cute Syaoran still believing in Yamazaki’s lies? xD
In the meantime, Sakura also wrote Eriol about what happened but he hasn’t wrote back to Sakura yet — suspicious as well, otherwise CLAMP wouldn’t have brought this up. Did you notice how Sakura’s bed changed? I guess CLAMP want to show that Sakura is not a little girl anymore.
Sakura then has the same dream again in which the mysterious figure appears. The dream is more recurring than I expected, but then again, Sakura often had recurring premonitory dreams, right?
And then, the unexpected happens: A NEW KEY! O_O
WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT? (I know, probably a million clever fanfic writers out there)
At first I thought the star key had changed, and I’m pretty sure that many readers thought that too, but it looks like it’s a brand new key. That would make sense since at some point Sakura will give away her star wand to TRC!Sakura.
The 6-point star looks like the one from the costume that the mysterious figure is wearing (and also the one from Sakura’s sailor outfit from Nakayoshi July 2016 cover?), which makes me think even more that the mysterious figure is Sakura herself.
WHAT THE HELL IS THAT STRANGE SNAKEY THING FLYING AROUND TOMOEDA? O_O
At first I thought it was a Dragon of Earth/Heaven but then I was like “no, wait”.
34 pages for this chapter. 73 pages so far for volume 1. The slight decrease in page number was expected. Next chapter will be next month, in the next issue of Nakayoshi magazine, hopefully with a new color page each month (god bless shoujo manga!).

oh its so lovely to see yue again!!!! its great to see how close he and sakura have gotten. i think those two will have quite an emotionally deep relationship in the future. a no words needed sort of thing. i found it stunning how in the original series, CLAMP so sensitively covered his grieving over clow, and how he reacted and dealt with having a new “master”. so its extra nice to see how far they have come.
on another note syaoran and eriol know something for sure. id love to see syaorans family. i wonder if we’ll hear about his time in HK.

Syaoran’s family is one of the mysteries that CLAMP intentionally left out of explanation. I would love to learn more about them as well.

The plot progression between chapters is so nice, haha! I’m used to xxxHOLiC getting only a few pages each month. By the way, wasn’t the most recent “Rei” chapter supposed to be out by now?
This means that Clow never told them anything about this happening (Clow didn’t explain everything? You don’t say!).
Neither Kero nor Yue brings Clow up when they’re discussing the transparent cards, so who knows if he actually predicted this happening? (Actually, I don’t think Clow’s been mentioned by name in any kind of CLAMP media since the end of TRC, but…) If he did, I think this is going to be more of a “Okay, enough with the apron strings, Sakura’s got to handle this on her own” type of thing — especially if the figure in Sakura’s dream turns out to be another version of her.

Considering that the cards could have straight up died, for all they know, Sakura and co. seem pretty calm! I appreciated how level-headed Tomoyo was about it, though — considering how much help Sakura has at her disposal, it really does make sense that things are going to be fine in the end.

The whole “foresaw the future” thing would explain why Eriol hasn’t gotten back to Sakura about her question, but in that case, nothing would stop him from just telling her that he doesn’t know, right? I hope his house didn’t get attacked or something.
Also, I think it’s the same bed Sakura has during the Sakura Card arc! It might look different because of the thicker line widths.
I’m really looking forward to seeing what’s up with the giant serpent next chapter! 😀

yeah i thought this a while ago ever since i saw sakura appear in mama sakura dream. i wondered if maybe the trc events including clow reeds actions will have a serious knock on effect with sakura, both personally and magically. i also think the same with syaoran or another Li member predicted this, but maybe also eriol. he sure was interested in sakuras dream seeing and well being. but in trc dream with mama sakura, ccs sakura was confident the cards would be ok. and she looked a few years older than she is shown presently… so this foreboding event coming up could be really bad but sort itself out and maybe sort things out both in ccs and TC. sakura will definitely be fine, thats why clow reed chose her!

Either way, hopefully we’ll get some kind of resolution to Clow’s story that ties CCS and TRC together (even if we don’t get straight crossovers).

ive said it before and i will say it 1000000 times more! i would LOVE to see a prequel series on clow reed and yuuko. i think that would bring all clow related series together quite nicely. and maybe even fill plot holes. and im also super intrigued in the heavily mentioned yet never seen Li family. id love to see that family added to one of the three series.

Really, this Li family is such heavily mentioned but never appeared anywere in the manga! It is really about time they show AT LEAST Yelan , in my opinion! Hope we get to see her in the Clear Card Arc! ❤

In the movie 1 which happens in Honk Kong, CLAMP was a big part of it:

I believe it is safe to assume that the physical appearances of his mother and sisters + their general behaviors/personalities can be considered as canon.

Yes, definitely! I’ve seen the drafts of Yelan + Syaoran’s sisters made by Clamp and I’ve never really had a doubt they are canon…I just loved the few things they showed about them in movie 1 and I’m eager to see more in the manga…<3

I’d really like them to appear in the manga! I don’t know about the sisters, but as you said, CLAMP could quite easily give a role to play to Yelan if they wanted to…
With so many of our wishes being granted lately (new sequel manga, anime, artbook etc…), let’s be a bit more greedy and ask for more! XD

and what about the wong family… we’ve seen wei wong ( i think thats his name) in the anime, who was syaorans guardian, which was a nice little added addition since he was only what 10/11. although i have no doubt of how capable syaoran is as a young boy! he was 10 going on 20! he literally puts uni students who live on campus to shame!! and then obviously the more well known and infamous fei wong reed.

Syaoran’s attendant in the anime, Wei Wang, is an anime only character.
In the manga, Syaoran lives alone: Sakura expressed her admiration for Syaoran for living alone and doing everything on his own, and CLAMP even made a whole oneshot out of it (published in artbook) > when he fell sick, Sakura got worried about him and Touya even made him food, both thinking that it should be hard on him since he lives on his own.

Yes, something like that and also because maybe they can’t do anything about it. It’s like seeing the future and not being able to do anything about it to change it.
Eriol not saying anything to Sakura is like Dumbledore avoiding eye contact with Harry around Book 6 (not sure if you are familiar with Harry Potter xD). I hope Sakura is not tainted like Harry was =P

yes!! ❤ harry potter!! i did the house selection test too. i just had to know which one i was in! i was convinced id get slitherin. xD (im not btw) …anyways that was for harrys own good, but that kinda backfired. he was in even more danger that way.

And the ending of the Sakura Card arc was so positive, too! Eriol’s closing discussion with Sakura really gave off the feeling that all her troubles were behind her. Hopefully nobody’s going to have to summon the Sword of Gryffindor to lop off this giant snake’s head. XD
Also: I took a look at the ending spread again, and it really looks like the dream version of Tokyo that Sakura saw at the beginning of the Sakura Card arc. Maybe most of the action is going to take place in dreams this time around?

Here I am, with my comments as promised!!
Soooo let’s begin with what I adored… Sakura blushing and running away from Syaoran is pure gold, it’s really her turn to be overwhelmed by feelings, after being so naive and not noticing her feelings for the 12 volumes of the main story XD
Then Tomoyo’s hairstyle, Yue and Kero-chan being so cute, discussing how to stay close to their mistress in such a worrisome situation…
Of course I can’t let out Chiharu, Yamazaki and Naoko, even if they didn’t change hairstyle at all, it’s so apparent they’re grown a little!
SYAORAN BELIEVING YAMAZAKI’S LIES!!! Omg that boy is 13 and still so pure…XDD
Then, what is worrying me…of course Syaoran…always him…and THE LOOKS are more and more…we just had a glimpse of a smile in this chapter… the first look when he says “…I don’t know” is kinda weird, as you know I’m on the “he’s lying” theory as well, even KNOWING that this would be so out of character for him…they made a big fuss around the idea that Syaoran is a “very honest” person, back in Tsubasa…
Nonetheless, if he is lying and he knows something, it must be for a very important reason, Sakura’s life probably depends on it otherwise he wouldn’t do it. I’ve also thought that maybe he needs to lie/hide things in order to “get” into this situation and do something about it. I want to make clear that I absolutely have faith in Syaoran’s good intentions, he loves Sakura to death and we all KNOW what he is capable of doing for her (fucking up an entire universe, anyone? It wasn’t him but the heart is the same, eh).
That’s why, at the second “look” (when Kero says “we contacted the people in England”), there’s so much anguish that he actually looks guilty to me! And Eriol triggered that look, this really worries me. Finally, the third look when Sakura and Tomoyo are at a distance, seems like he’s resolving to protect her no matter what.
Now about the dream: I’m still on the idea that the mysterious person is Sakura herself, for all the reasons explained by you, and if we follow the dream, we might understand what is happening…cards turning clear and then shattered…the shards converge and create the new key…to which may correspond a new staff…this reminded me that one time during the final “battle” with Eriol: Yue and Kerberos merged with the staff and the staff changed…what if all the cards merged in a new key? What if something is coming and it’s so big that the power of all the cards is needed at once to beat it?
These are my speculations for now, I’ll add later if anything else comes to mind!

True, we never really got to see that in the manga, only in the movie. It’s so sweet when she goes to sleep and Syaoran is the last thing she thinks of before falling sleep. Aren’t we all like that when we are in love?

Yeah, goo theory, I hadn’t interpreted the dream sequence that way, and it does look like the cards have merged into the key. But we still have their “vessels”. What is she gonna do with them?

About this, if Syaoran and Eriol are cooperating in the “let’s keep it secret” thing, it means that it must be a HUGE thing… (and after the Sakura Card Arc, it sure would be weird to have them cooperating! But for Sakura’s sake, anything is possible, right?)
I think CLAMP will keep out Eriol with the excuse that the memories of Clow that are in him aren’t complete (same excuse in the Sealed Card that made him inform Sakura too late) and now he cannot see the future anymore, so he might be useless.

My brain was completely fixed on the idea of the key converting, that it didn’t event compute what my eyes were looking at: you are absolutely right > what we see in these pages is a new Key appearing from a ball of light inside the Dream, and as said in xxxholic: if you are still holding something from your dream when you wake up, then you can bring that thing back with you to reality, and this is exactly what happened here. Meaning that the ‘old’ Star Key is still in that jewellery box in which Sakura put it every night!
That said, it gives a whole other sens to the words she exchanged with TRC|Sakura: following this event, she LITERALLY didn’t need the Star Wand anymore. I assumed at the time it meant she could control her cards without a wand, or maybe even that the cards lost their physical forms (very unlikely due to the whole “the cards are my friends” thing, but still a possibility?). Who knew CLAMP could still surprise us after all the brain storming we do, and show us a new key ^^; These 4 evil women got us again! XD
About the creature in the end, my mind screamed dragon the very second I saw it (that’s what DBZ and X do to you…) but I went back on that idea: I am considering it could possibly be a giant snake for the moment!
As of now, the chapters are pretty exciting, it’s been so long since I’ve got so happy and talkative about a CLAMP manga ^_^
I hope it goes on in this direction! (and color pages every chapters are very welcome too! but from what I’ve seen so far and read in the interviews you’ve been posting lately, it seems like CLAMP will have to stick with a ‘cute story where no one dies’ mouahahahaha! 😀

Sorry, the last three lines are weird: 2 paragraphs were stuck together, and part of the text I wrote is gone ^^;;
Well, I was simply saying that it was great that CLAMP didn’t only focus on Sakura alone when making new color illustration like they did in the 90’s, in which at least 2/3 of the artworks were solo poses of Sakura.
The other paragraph was about the fact Nakayoshi really is a magazine for young readers, and from what I’ve seen so far and read in the interviews you’ve been posting lately (thanks for that btw)m it seems like CLAMP will have to stick with a ‘cute story where no one dies’ mouahahahaha!😀 That said, I think CLAMP will also have more freedom then they did 20 years earlier in their career, and they might also consider that many/most of the fans are in their 30’s if they’ve been following the series from the very beginning…mmmhh…complicated: don’t go too far bcs of the magazine’s standards, but also keep to their own style and tell the story they want, plus consider the older fans…GOOD LUCK CLAMP! 😀

I totally agree with you, this will be quite a challenge for Clamp: it wouldn’t be the first time they completely ignore or screw the magazine’s target (they start following it and then they go berserk and do the hell they want), but I’m sure Ohkawa wants to “shake” things a little bit, comparing with the first two arc of CCS. After all, she said it, it was very difficult for her not to hurt badly anyone XDDD And also there’s the fact that Syaoran, Sakura & co. are 13 by now, they are grown up a little and possibly capable of bearing a little more suffering…I’m sure it will be all right in the end (it is the ultimate sense of CCS, after all) but probably with little scars here and there…who knows…as long as it doesn’t turn into a second Tsubasa, I can’t wait to see the events unfolding (with a little anxiety, of course). 😀

More than editors pressuring them (are there such people at this point of CLAMP’s career?), I think it’s more the weight of the CCS series as a whole which might stop CLAMP from going too crazy on us: it is by far their most popular series, and not just theirs, but it’s simply one of the most famous anime released in Japan, and known worldwide by generations of fans!
Ohkawa already knows how it ends, since this is how she works, and now she is making up the events that will lead to that grand ending! And she will definitely put whatever she wants and think necessary to respect the spirit of the series, and express in her terms the story she wants to tell~
I also agree that it might be darker and have more painful events than in the first arcs in which they were 3-4 years younger, elementary school kids, so I am definitely expecting something ‘bad’, and it’s actually already overshadowed by Syaoran’ strange behavior…
The good thing is that we don’t have to worry: since everything will definitely be alright! ❤
One last thing: if you are planning to order the september issue from amazon japan, it's been available for a week now, and if the pre-orders are cut short early like last month, you might want to get it now before it vanishes!

I don’t think they will gift Clamp related goods in the next issue (there are other mangas in the magazine!) but we will hopefully get a new color picture and, of course, a new chapter! 😀

You both have very good points. They already “shocked” Nakayoshi readers once with the ending of Rayearth, which was targeted to slightly older readers. Then they made the original CCS and targeted to young readers (Nakayoshi’s standard readers). Now that the characters are older and the readers supposedly older, they can definitely raise de drama bar a little, but surely everything will be alright in the end, with maybe a little scars here and there like Sakura84 said. It’s CLAMP, after all.

I can totally understand the fans feeling nostalgic about X seeing this creature, nonetheless, CCS and X universes are not the same: X/Tokyo Babylon/Clamp School Detective/Duckylon are all in the same world. Card Captor Sakura has no part in it~
CCS and XXXHolic are the same dimension though, but the information about the dragon mentioned in the latest chapters of Rei are too vague at the moment ^^;
But more importantly:
1-if Sakura didn’t give away her wand yet, then it means the events we are seeing now in CCS CC are happening before xxxholic chapter 1 even started + before little Syaoran|Tsubasa went to Clow Country for the first time = most of both TRC and XXXHolic series are unrelated to this new arc of CCS.
2-considering the Time/Logic has been restored at the end of TRC, we can’t tell 100% whether the meeting between both Sakura have been erased from History or not; the time and all the events related to Mom&Dad SxS and both their sons (Tsubasa and Watanuki) are all gone.
Since things related to Time/Space/Logic are really confusing and subjective, and pretty much depends on each person’s perception and understanding of it, everything will depend on what CLAMP decide to make of it, they are the creators!

So the actual question would be: in which ‘version’ are we right now? In CCS CC, are we at a moment in which Time/Logic have already returned to normal, or are we at a moment in which Time/Logic are completely messed up?
Depending on that, there might be, or not, crossovers between the 3 series.
At least, this is how I understand it ^^;

So what you are saying is that the scene where Sakura meets TRC!Sakura in a dream and the fact that the star wand ended up in Yuuko’s shop all happened in a f*cked up (pardon my manners) version of the future and now that logic has been re-stablished, that scene might not happen in this new CCS manga? That actually makes a lot of sense.

Well, you know, it’s the usual: it makes as much sens as CLAMP insane plots allows it to be XD
But it’s indeed pretty much it: Logic and Time were both completely messed up when the 2 Sakura met each other, and afterwards, when everything went back to “normal” by the end of TRC: the reincarnated SxS were long gone from that world, and both Syaoran and Watanuki were beings that shouldn’t exist and were rejected by the Universe…So in fact, I believe their whole lives was overwritten by ‘new events’, it’s all gone…
But beyond that point, it really depends of CLAMP’s interpretation: if we look at it in a timeline, is there a “before” and “after” the messed up Logic? In which case we can expect the Sakura x Sakura meeting. Or was it all overwritten when repaired? In which case the meeting between them shouldn’t exist anymore…

The 09 issue will include a Kero Spray Pen. It comes also with 4 pens: you put a color pen inside the spray pen, and then you only need to press Kero and you will get splashes of colors on paper~
It was also confirmed that the 3rd chapter will also include a color page ^__^

omg!! that model really is so beautiful! it looks like the picture came to life. i was also hoping they would manage to keep the wings the same too. ive really come to love the red and green colour combo. ccs sakura really is the queen of ALL clamp characters! ❤

wow!!! thanks soooo much cutesherry for those pictures! omg you actually became a card for a moment!? that looks amazing. when i was 10 i used to pretend i was a card when the anime first came out xD. the food, the goodies, the guest card, and the life size wand!!! its just all too much for my mind to handle!! thanks again for sharing!

This is a review written by Himitsuru, a really sweet and nice girl, and a big fan of CCS!
Just like you, I also enjoyed her entry.
The card booth is definitely one of the highlights of the Cafe, a very simple but fun idea!

This is actually a very difficult question: it’s hard to have a honest opinion about this figure while stressing out about the price and custom fees ^^; But I will try!
I expected to see the clear clothing, but I didn’t think they would also made the giant wings transparent too! At first sight, I felt it was a shame they were not white, but after looking at the photo several times, I actually got used to it and like it ^_^
The final painted version is really gorgeous, and they nailed Sakura’s face and body’s proportions, which is truly the most important! There are so many figure of her with her face being…meh! Not bad but not good either you know? But right here, I can really see and appreciate a 3D version of a CLAMP’s drawing XD
And after thinking it over, even though her Star staff is really symbolic of course, I think CLAMP could also have played the game to the end, and actually put a royal scepter in her hands! But well, that’s me nitpicking hahaha~
All in all, the most beautiful CCS figures ever created, and maybe the best there will ever be: manufacturers don’t go around making these kind of expensive figures everyday! That’s why they are usually limited exclusive editions you need to pre-order in advance.

Yeah it said “new”, “only 1 in stock” and it was sold and shipped by amazon…I’ve purchased it right away! It has not been shipped yet so I’m not celebrating too soon, but that was definitely luck XD

At the moment, Sakura appears very shy around him, which is actually quite a touching thing to see: neither her 90’s self nor her TRC self ever acted that way toward anybody, which makes it even more special: I feel like I am seeing a new facet of her that exists only for him 🙂 (though, we can argue she was a like this in the movie 2 actually…but I’m only thinking manga material here)
I also like the fact her behavior is 180º different from the one she had when she was around Yukito (in which case she acted like a love sick puppy or a heart shaped eyes groupie most of the time ^^;), which confirm what she thought herself at the time: that what she felt for Syaoran was completely different than the feeling she had for Yuki~
I don’t have anything against Yuki, but in the 90’s manga, she was infatuated with him for so long (10 volumes out of 12!!), and the ‘romance’ with Syaoran was so short, that I really need to see a decisive and clear image of their relationship in this new arc!

Like any other time I’ve read your posts in the fandom, I find myself completely agreeing with you!! So good to have someone understanding your ship so well!! ^__^
This is also the reason why I’ve waited for this sequel so eagerly…just for the hope to see more interaction as lovers between Syaoran and Sakura…the series ended too soon for us to see anything! And I don’t ask for something unreasonable (kissing for example, I know it’s not Clamp’s cup of tea), but little demonstration of what their relationship is like…I’ve read so many headcanons around, about the most basic things, like “who is the one bringing lunch for both at school?” “How Syaoran will react toward the inevitable line of admirers hovering around Sakura?” but I’m sure Clamp can show us these and lot more interesting details and love gestures (i.e., I didn’t think Sakura would blush THAT much around Syaoran, this was a surprise to me honestly)…

If I have to give a general idea of the feeling I was left with at the end of CCS, it would be that the whole ‘relationship’ was quite a onesided thing from Syaoran since some of the very first volumes (I think the first time he blushed while looking longingly at her was volume 4, during the school trip to the beach?). Not that CLAMP didn’t do a good job at showing Sakura’s feelings on the end, which was very touching and romantic! But again: it was so short lived, and in contrast her running after Yuki went on for so long, that these couple of final chapters just didn’t weight enough overall! > I wanted more! >.<
I'm also definitely not expecting any typical shoujo scenes (just not happening), but just like you, I also think that CLAMP can show love gestures that is just for these two ❤

I agreed with you 100% before re-reading almost all the volumes in the last weeks, but while I was re-reading them, I had the realization that Clamp was hinting at Sakura’s feelings toward Syaoran the whole time…I know it doesn’t look like it because she was so head-over-heels with Yukito and that took all the attention (both of the readers and in Sakura’s head), but as you were pointing out before, the two relationships are different and what Sakura felt was different as well.
I’ll try to explain it better: Sakura’s crush on Yukito was exactly like those elementary school crushes, full of blushing faces, screams of joy, daydreaming…it was still a very “valid feeling” but it didn’t go further thanks to Yukito that opened her eyes and made her see the truth…
Now, Sakura’s falling in love with Syaoran was totally the opposite, it began silently, crept in her heart on tiptoe, made her unconsciously do things to estabilish a link between them (her “I know you haven’t accepted me yet, but I just wanted to say thank you” on volume 4, just to say one), trusting him and respecting him a lot, smiling a lot around him…when he first called her “Sakura” she made a face like “ooh, finally we’ve come to this, I’m so happy” even though she was in a very dangerous situation just seconds before! All she said when she came back was “you just called me Sakura, didn’t you?” and afterwards, as to make sure there was no turning back, she corrected him “It’s Sakura” to his “Omae (You)…”. I believe all of this was made unconsciusly by her, she was too occupied with her feelings for Yukito to even notice it, and I think we readers were stunned by her *loud* feelings for Yukito too. That’s why, as time went by and Sakura and Syaoran’s relationship became much stronger (I was surprised by how she knew that the Valentine’s chocolate she found in the postbox was Syaoran’s…you have to be very close to a person to guess something like that), and after Syaoran’s confession, she suddenly found herself with an enormous amount of feelings flowing out everywhere and not knowing how to address them or how to sort them out.
I used to think that Sakura “suddenly fell in love with Syaoran in the last volume” and I found it very unsatisfying, even too convenient for my own taste, especially seeing Syaoran’s feelings so evident (can’t keep count of how many times I’ve said “poor Syaoran” during the Sakura Card Arc), but recently re-reading everything and keeping in mind Clamp’s style of telling stories made me realize that the authors *did* put some hints here and there, but they were so subtle because the readers had to be wondering until the end “will Sakura reciprocate his feelings?”.
Now that everything has been cleared out and estabilished, I’m delighted to see Sakura acting according to her true feelings…

First: sorry for always answering to your first post, but if we keep replying to each consecutive post, the space gets thinner and thinner.
I just read your text, and I’m not bothered at with by the length (I am the type who writes a lot too hahaha~).
I actually haven’t re-read CCS for a while now, but I still remember it quite well (especially the SxS parts *wink*) so I had no difficulties following you!
I definitely agree that their bond grew stronger with time, and that they became closer and closer all along the series: many little things pops in my mind right now, like how Syaoran went to visit Sakura when she was sick and how she smiled at him beautifully, how they pinky-promised each other they would go catch the cards together (sakura cards arc) so she waited for him to come, how moved she was when she learned that Syaoran was crazy worried about her and went on banging the invisible wall that was separating her from him (when she was wearing the sheep costume), making clothes for him as a thanks or telling him that together, they were stronger! I really love every single moment between them! ❤
Her feelings for Syaoran didn't just come out of nowhere, they definitely built up with time. And the way she reacted to each of this things related to Syaoran, is really completely different to the way she is around Yukito.
It feels like her fixation for Yuki was like a blindfold: her feelings had already started to shift, she had already started to like Syaoran, and when the blindfold fell off, she "saw the light" XD
Nonetheless, in the midst of all this, several elements interfered with this picture perfect slowly progressing love:
1-CLAMP emphasized at the end of the Clow Card Arc that Syaoran's feelings toward Yuki were due to Yue's magic, but that even after knowing about his other self, Sakura still kept liking him = it *must mean* her feelings for him are authentic.
2-the repeated cluelessness of Sakura when faced with Syaoran true feelings = when we see Syaoran being sad, or having failed to pass across his feelings, we can't help ourselves from feeling that's it's onesided.
3-the scene in which she confesses to Yuki, or more like, the fact she went as far as confessing to him = even though we got the sweetest scene ever with Syaoran afterwards, it was still quite intense, a real slap in the face, to see Sakura being so heartbroken about Yukito, about "another guy", whatever her feelings' true nature were, even if mixed with something else, they were serious in their own kind.
Taking the above into account, they weighted heavily overall and were hard to ignore.
But in the long run, I notice the SxS scenes a lot more than I do the times she spent running after Yukito~ They are a lot more memorable!! (actually, if we are talking about scenes with yuki, the only ones that come to mind right now are: when she talked about him to Syaoran in the school beach trip, when she tried to give him the teddy bear, and when she confessed to him).
All in all, my opinion is that she started getting closer to Syaoran as a friend in the beginning, but those feelings shifted into something more: she was treating him in a special way, but due to her denseness and the fact she was telling herself she was already in love with someone else, she didn't have the chance to notice them until she was forced to confront them, when faced with Syaoran's confession, and then his departure, far away from her.

I’ve read somewhere that the issue with the first chapter of CCS CC made Nakayoshi score a sold out AFTER 3 YEARS from the last time it happened!! Like, Nakayoshi’s editorial department is probably whorshipping CLAMP at this point….

We thankfully both pre-ordered it long in advance! But damn, this is turning scary: it’s really a battle against the clock to get the Nakayoshi before it’s sold out on amazon.co.jp ^^;
We need to go fish for it in the last week of each month (starting from the 25th?), this is more or less the sort of date in which I found them available.
But other than that, this is GREAT news for CCS CC! 😀
At this point, I think the editors will let CLAMP do whatever they want with the plotline hahaha~

From some Japanese tweets I’ve read, it seems like the August issue is sold out as well…like, in bookstores too! Everywhere! This is not connected to the furoku at all, it’s all CCS “fault”! XD and this surely raises the awareness that we’ll have to fight to reserve our next copies!!
In the meanwhile, my August copy safely arrived here..it feels even more like “a treasure” now 😀
Giving a brief look at the other stories, I’ve seen one in particular that features some scenes, let’s say, not *exactly* suitable to an elementary-schoolers target….at least IMHO…I really believe Clamp as well are allowed to do whatever the hell they want with the story XD

If CLAMP plans to cross -over this CCS world world with TRC (not the other CCS world) maybe the robe person is Sakura from the future or other dimension. The star design remind me of Sakura’s upgrade star staff. Also, Yukito’s design here…. Either unintentional or suppose to be like that, I find his design has age regress.

Nice title page this chapter too. I like Nakayoshi for giving them a color page every month, even back in the Magic Knight Rayearth days! ^_^
So much cards! There was only 19 in the manga back then, it looks like she has the full 52 cards anime deck now. XD
She’s postponing telling Yukito, sounds like it’s going to be a problem…
So Tomoyo has strong feeling for “something” to happen, and she is Sakura’s first cousin, so maybe it’s time we see what’s up with this side of the family. XD

Close up to the bear once again, just before the dream. I also notice how Xiaolang was carrying the bear around, but now that he left this one to Sakura and get back the one he made, there’s no stuffed bear with him anymore. Maybe Sakura’s feeling of longing for the days of card captor are in the bear and have grown in Hong Kong. Now her ikiryou dwelling in the bear want card mayhem again!
That mysterious person again, she obviously got cloth made by Clamp, that’s for sure. XD
Then a new key… on to the next chapter!
