Here is the newly drawn cover illustration for the Chobits limited edition Blu-ray Box, to be released on December 25, 2015, costing 28,000 yens.
The box will hold 4 discs containing all 27 episodes of the series that originally aired from April~September 2002.
This is the first Blu-Ray release for Chobits. Unlike the Card Captor Sakura release, only a limited amount of copies will be on sale for this one.
This re-release is available for pre-order at CD Japan with worldwide shipping.

This is the first Chobits illustration in years (yay for that!). The painting technique looks exactly the same, but the art has slightly changed. Elda’s (Chii) face looks particularly weird, I think… Still, gorgeous!
Update: In addition to what we already know, this release will also come with a 32-pages booklet and 11 postcards with the TV Series DVD covers (drawn by CLAMP). There are 8 DVDs for the TV Series, so there are going to be other 3 illustrations that will be picked for the postcards, which I am assuming it will be the 3 illustrations that CLAMP drew for the 3 limited-edition DVD boxes.

Let’s all ruin ourselves this xmas on Clamp’s discs! Between the CCS and the Chobits ones, this is around 70000jpy…gah! >.<
Jokes aside, I am very happy to see a new illustration of Chobits after so many years ^_^ It was disappointing not to get a new artwork for the CCS release, but I am very happy Chobits had better luck!! ❤ They somehow both look quite mischievous here, while there was usually a clear difference between Chi and Freya facial expressions, but the picture itself is very much like in the same spirit of all the chobits' artworks made up to this date.
