Although the cover of the next Bessatsu Shonen Magazine was posted in the magazine’s official blog with the information that the XXXHOLiC manga series would be reaching its climax, the cover’s final version was edited and the text regarding XXXHOLiC’s climax was changed:
The text now reads “An unexpected development!” instead of the former “Finally the climax!”.
This edited cover is the official version that will be available for purchase once the magazine is formally released on the 9th.
This puts in doubt whether XXXHOLiC is really coming to an end or not. We’re back to where we were before regarding XXXHOLiC: the series is still on with no horizon for an ending.
This sudden change is, however, in my point of view, very strange… stay tuned for more information about the future of XXXHOLiC’s series!

It’s either a random phrase to catch the reader’s attention (because nothing really big happens in that chapter) or they are planning to make XXXHOLiC even longer… only time will tell.

Oh no problem, I still have no idea of what “development” means for them, because I feel like nothing important has happened in the series since Yuuko died… Maybe the final development of XXXHOLIC? Can’t really predict anything with CLAMP though.

Why should they wrote climax in the pre-cover if the climax won´t come soon? Ok, they change that into “unexpected development” but in the end it amount to the same thing if one think logically!

I’m just basing on the facts here… we had a cover with climax information and then they changed it. I’m just pointing that from what we have of “official” info, we can’t say that it is the climax (as much as I want it to be).
We have the info from the foreign publishers, yes, but maybe this decision was just made between CLAMP and Kodansha…
But I am considering here as official source both CLAMP and Kodansha and neither of them is confirming the ending.

It all seem very weird behavior to me, though. I wouldn’t be surprised if volume 19 does turn out to be the final one.
Let’s wait for CLAMP-NET.COM’s December 16th update, they should list the final chapter of volume 19 and we will know if that is indeed the final chapter of the series as a whole.

I’m deeply dissapointed. I like xxxHOLiC, but it’s been so plain I don’t even bother to look for scans
“An expected development!” says nothing to me, I mean the plot it’s been so pointless that ANYTHING that happens seems to be an unexpected development!
Well, I think I’ll stop ranting…it’s a CLAMP series, awesomeness is almost guaranteed (:

Because nothing really unexpected happened in the chapter… maybe they wanted to get rid of the climax text and didn’t know what to use xD
At this point I don’t know what to expect anymore, I’ll just see how it goes. And I too have lost my interest for XXXHOLiC at this point =/

OK I was tempted to look for it and, even though I didn’t understand a single word from what I read, I could see it’s just another pointless story. Well, I think all the clients have cute stories and everything, but c’mon I need some action and revelations! what about the egg and YUUKO!?

This is kind of a bummer really…as much as I adore xxxHolic, it really feels like CLAMP’s been beating a dead horse with it for quite some time.
Still, when I heard the news about it ending I feared we would get a rushed conclusion, and I’m glad to know that will apparently not be the case.
BUT…maybe the conclusion is indeed upon us, just not as early as we thought and thus the cover was changed to prevent us readers from getting all jazzed up too soon. Who knows? 😛

Kohane getting pregnant by Watanuki *shudders*? I would find that seriously creepy, on so many levels. Never mind pregnancy, I would find it disturbing for them to be having sex in the first place (*shudders at disturbing mental image*), particularly since I will always remember (and thus see) Kohane as the 11 year old Watanuki met in volume 9. And also I would just HATE this pairing. I’m very interested to see what this ‘unexpected development’ will be though.
As for the news, all I can say is, what a relief! I just hope this news doesn’t turn out to be another mistake or mix up by the magazine though, as I would be seriously pissed off.

I’m really glad they’re not ending it as yet. Three more chapters for XXXholic just seemed to be too abrupt for me, since I haven’t given up hope that they will hopefully tell us what happens to the TRC bunch!
But I do hope they end all these customers soon! and get on to the final arc!

Here’s a horrible thought…
maybe it’s going on hiatus after Gate 7 starts.
In that case, it will indeed stop, but have no climax. Hence, the change in the cover text.

Nanase Ohkawa-sama said in Clamp no Kiseki that she knows the end of XXX Holic, so the only thing we can do is trusting her, but I think she understood that XXX holic is a good means to show the japanese mythology and believes and she takes advantage on it by constantly pushing the end, I think there will be 20 volumes, all chapters of the last volume will be the end of the story

Maybe the unexpected development have something to do with Fei Wang Reed.
Before die he said that he have something really important to tell Yuko and that´s the reason because he want to return her to life.
