CLAMP NEWS !!

Extremely early edition this time. Turns out that the mirror website of CLAMP-NET.COM for testing purposes simply “appeared” on Google yesterday. That website is probably a testing zone used by the developers team to test things before putting them on the “real” CLAMP-NET.COM.

They also post updates in that mirror website first, and guess what, the next update of CLAMP-NET.COM is already there (although we’re not supposed to see it until June 16, in theory).

Of course, all information is subject to change until it actually gets published in the final website, and in case there are changes, I’ll make another update.

– Next scheduled chapters (red means new):

06/10 – Newtype #07 – Drop. 15 (on sale).
07/10 – Newtype #08 – Drop. 16.
08/10 – Newtype #09 – Drop. 17.

– Next scheduled chapters (red means new):

06/10 – Shonen Magazine #28 – Chapter 222 (on sale).
06/17 – Shonen Magazine #29 – Chapter 223.
06/24 – Shonen Magazine #30 – No Tsubasa scheduled.
07/01 – Shonen Magazine #31 – No Tsubasa scheduled.

And this, people, is why I believe there will be 28 volumes of Tsubasa xD

And by the way, according to Shonen Magazine, the reason why Chapter 222 was postponed by a week (I’m sure you all remember) was due to a “sudden illness” amongst CLAMP.

– Next scheduled chapters (red means new):

06/08 – Young Magazine #28 – No XXXHOLiC scheduled (on sale).
06/15 – Young Magazine #29 – No XXXHOLiC scheduled.
06/22 – Young Magazine #30 – No XXXHOLiC scheduled.
06/29 – Young Magazine #31 – Chapter 183 – Beginning of tankoubon 16.
07/06 – Young Magazine #32 – Chapter 184.

In that mirror website it’s also possible to access areas that are still under construction such as the Database and the CLAMP@MOBiLE area. Copy stg.clamp-net.com and paste in your browser if you would like to access it.

  2. I hope there won’t be 28 volumes of TRC because, if this is true, this would mean we would have around 5 more chap of TRC… which would mean a very rushed backstory for Fei Wang… unless he’s Watanuki in disguise… -_- and Shaoran Serior said Jr still have to make his choice… and also there wouldn’t be space to see again hunters and vampires… and no more flashback to Jr’s parents’ past…
Normally Holic’s chapters come out at a slower pace compared to TRC ones… and since Kiyokazu Fujimoto had been vague about the ending date of the series I hope it means we’ll have more TRC volumes…
Though I don’t know how CLAMP will manage now that they’ll be busy with Mangette too… unless you’re right and this is the last TRC volume…. but I don’t think they’ll manage to end TRC before August if they go at this slow pace… unless the new chap will be bigger…

    • Is Mangettes still slated for an August-ish release? CLAMP’s website still says “Release Date to Be Decided.” Also, it looks like all pre-orders have been taken down and I would think Dark Horse would be promoting the series more with a release date coming soon. I’m guessing a delay with Mangettes would give CLAMP time to finish Tsubasa and xxxHolic, which won’t be completed for a few more months.

I could also picture Tsubasa being 29 volumes, instead of just 28, since I would expect it to end around the same time as xxxHolic. The last few volumes of xxxHolic have taken about five months to complete a whole volume, while it takes about 3 months per Tsubasa volume. If they keep this average pace and Volume 16 is xxxHolic’s last volume, then Tsubasa would have about two more volumes?

Not sure about that anymore. Probably not otherwise we would have official announcement on CLAMP-NET.COM by now. It was the last “official” date announced by Dark Horse, though, so I’ll keep it until they come with a new release date.

Yeah, but it’s not entirely impossible that CLAMP draws volume 16 in 12 weeks straight. Also, volume 16 could be smaller than the previous volumes, just like the final volume of Chobits was smaller than the others.

If Tsubasa 28 is dragged with a lot of breaks (like it’s been so far) and XXXHOLiC on the other hand goes on track without too much breaks, they can end around the same time in September.

Well, I hope it’ll be delayed cause I’d like to have more TRC…

It’s real but still… too many things should still be concluded and, unless CLAMP wants to to a rushed ending I hope we’ll have more volumes…

    • I don’t think there are 5 chapters left for Tsubasa. The chapters have so far 16 pages each, that’s 48 pages, which means there are 130 pages left.

I’m only worried about the vampires sidestory. I don’t know how it’s gonna fit in, because I think everything else can be said in those remaining 150 pages.

      • I confess I hadn’t counted the number of pages in the chapters but the number of chapters in the previous volume. I guess everything depends by how long the new chaps will be.

I don’t know if everything can be said in those pages… I mean… all the other characters’ backstories took a lot of time. Fei Wang is the bad guy but CLAMP likes to have bad guys who’re not totally bad. So far however we know very little about him.
As I said, unless it turns out he’s a chara of Holic, he’ll need quite a bit of spacehave readers sympathize with him…

        … and yes, if we’ve only 150 pages ahead I fear for the vampires sidestory… ;_;

  3. Chibi Yuuto-kun, there’s something i want to share with you!!! xD
A few days ago, i was watching CCS in the tv xD Anyway, the chapter was that one where Earthy Card appears just in the end of the chapter. Before the trembling starts, Muzuki and Touya said “there’s not such a thing as coincidence, only Hitzuzen” LOL i must say that it was the first time i noticed they said that xD
Clamp does use that phrase in other series/manga as well? I dunno, and i found it a bit courious too.

  4. With this pace, I don’t know how they will manage to fit all the explanations that are still lacking in, what? 6 more chapters? And then make a proper ending for a manga that covered almost 30 volumes.

I’m really thinking this would be 29 volumes.

    • I hope not, but let’s see. CLAMP is known for their quick and abrupt endings, I’m just concerned about the vampire twins sidestory, I have no idea how they are gonna fit it in!

  5. mmmm i think tsubasa will be 29 volumes…. a lot of things left to explain (kamui, subaru, seishiro… what happened with fye, kuro, yuuko, and i don`t understand one thing: if the clone is the father of Syao jr, how can be born of his child!!!!!!… and jr says to yuuko: my name is syaoran li….

    • I’m sorry to butt in like this, but why is it that the fans want to see the backstory of the vampires and the vampire hunters so badly? I mean, there are other secondary characters of equal importance with the same lack of “backstory” (i.e., Grossum, whoever was using Oruha as an avatar, etc., etc.), and there doesn’t seem to be a way for CLAMP to fit in any such backstory without taking away from the stories of the main characters at this point. Is it just because so many people like them more?

It’s something that’s been bothering me for a while.

      • A lot of it could be that X was dropped so suddenly and never finished. The fans really want to see these characters used again (even if it is a different universe). I would image that it is very frustrating for them to have loved a series, watched its sudden halt, only then to be taunted with the characters placed in another series.

At least that is my theory. I have not read either X or CCS so I can only surmise. I have to agree with you though, since Tsubasa is so close to the end of its run a deviation from the main plot line is highly unlikely. At this point I am worried that even major characters like Fai and Kurogane may not even have their stories wrapped up nicely. x_x

        • I agree that a lot of it’s because X is unfinished. I also agree that TRC is going to be 29 volumes.

But I’ve also come to the conclusion that CLAMP dropped the vampire hunter subplot in there partly as an X tease. Also, I’ve read in interviews (I think) Ohkawa saying that she might end X differently if she was writing it now than the ending she planned for it, and I think a lot of her changed ideas have made their way into TRC, both explicitly with the X characters and implicitly with the TRC characters (particularly the clones).

          • I don’t remember Ohkawa ever saying that the ending of X will be different. In fact they are struggling to draw the ending that they originally planned, hence why it went on hiatus.

            Like

            • Mm, I expressed myself poorly. I know Ohkawa has said that they’ll do the ending for X that they originally planned, but I swear I read in one of their recent (within the last year or so?) interviews that she was saying her ideas about some of the themes in X had changed–like sacrificing oneself, etc. Or maybe she said just the last bit and my brain invented the X reference.

              Like

        • That would make sense–I haven’t read X, either, but I can understand that seeing the characters, even in another series, would help with waiting for the resolution of the story.

Regardless of what happens with the secondary characters, Fay and Kurogane should definitely have their own stories resolved. I can’t imagine CLAMP dropping them like that.

      • I’m positive that the vampires sidestory will be finished. I agree that it would lovely to see who was Oruha’s avatar (and have my theory confirmed that it was Icchan xD) but the vampire’s story received much bigger attention (its characters even made it to the deluxe covers), and they were directly involved with the main characters (Seishirou taught Syaoran, Kamui gave the blood to Fye, etc).

        Like

        • It would be both bizarre and amazing if Oruha was actually Icchan in disguise. XD Of course, it could have been Suu, given that she had made an Oruha of another sort (i.e., the singing holograms), but I like your theory much more.

What I’m wondering about, so far as the vampires are concerned, is how their story will be resolved in such a short time without detracting from the main plot.

gosh, i wonder what’s going to happen in holic now xD
my friend predicts that Watanuki is going to die, even though she’s not even reading the series. i wonder if she’ll be right. i hope not! Dx
thanks again for the early news! x3

    I really need to read the story after it all ends… -_-;

Oh yeah, about the developing mirror site, it can’t be accessed anymore. There’s a window asking for username and password, supposed that they found out that people are accessing them :>

Thanks for the news, hope to see the new official site soon! 🙂
