TRC 213 !

Scans available at ladydarkmoon and at The Room of Requirement too.

No splash page? For the first time in Tsubasa’s publishing history, if I’m not mistaken? However, something tells me that CLAMP will draw one for the tankoubon version.

Last week as most of you noticed, I got the wrong idea. Tokyo country is actually the past of Clow, and not the other way around. That way makes much more sense indeed. Sakura dropped the feather in the reservoir beneath Tokyo’s Metropolitan Building and that location became later the ruins of Clow country.

This time issues are very tricky and brain-frying, your brain gets stuck in a loop whenever we try to find a starting point, but I think that’s the biggest problem. There isn’t really a starting point, it’s like trying to answer the question of what came first, the chicken or the egg?

So this is the 15th feather? Please correct me if I’m wrong! Well, I’m not counting the ones that clone captured on his own, because we don’t know how many he got. But there’s at least one more feather left with Yuuko, the one that used to be Kohane’s. I wonder if FWR needs that one…

I wonder why this feather in particular is so special to what FWR wants to do. Unparalleled power? What does he mean by that?

And so we find out why he’s been doing all this. I mean, why it’s required to do everything he did so far. We know Fei Wang’s wish is to be able revive the dead, but that is impossible because it’s not logical. However, due to the power he obtained with the dimensions engraved in Sakura’s body, he can now break the “logic” that links all these dimensions.

By doing so, what’s illogical becomes logical and thus, it is possible to resuscitate the dead, HA!

Time to start guessing who Fei Wang wants to revive. Is it someone we know? Is it someone who’s not even dead yet? We never know now that we are dealing with past, present and future so close to each other. We barely know who Fei Wang Reed is, what time he lives and what’s his parenthood with Clow.

Last page shows the many worlds noticing something strange happening… are all worlds getting connected? So exciting!

Last week 16 pages, this week 14 pages, and a break now ;_;

  1. Just had a thoroughly insane thought. Fei Wang is the future Watanuki, and he wants to revive his parents. OR YUUKO.

This lack of logic is not a good thing for me. Open too many possibilities up.

    Like

    • lol, that’s AWESOME! But I bet the one he’s trying to revive is Doumeki! After all, the old lady (who can see the future, she’s taking care of Kohane) said that his parents were alive, just in another dimension. And Yuuko will never die. She’s immotal. IMMORTAL!!! Don’t deny me my love!!! Yuuko’s so awesoooooommmmmeeee!!!!!!!

But I bet if Doumeki DID die, Watanuki would bring him back, “through his own power” like he’s saying now. He’s very, I can do it! Although if FWR WAS Watanuki, we would have a very “which came first, the chicken or the egg” situation, since it was because of FWR’s actions that Watanuki was even created. Although CLAMP seems to be doing that everywhere now so it would actually work quite well.

O.o I just had an absolutely INSANE, brain-breaking thought. FWR = future Syaoran! I don’t know why, I have no reasons, it’s absolutely STUPID, I know. If you say that, I’ll hunt you down. Hunt! But my brain has latched onto this idea and won’t let go. It has a grip like a vise!

      • Everything is possible. He’s old enough and he’s related to Clow… we don’t know if he lives in the past, present or future. He could definitely be the future of a character we know.

        But what about his name?

“Syaoran” is not his real name, remember? Aha!

        HAHAHAHAHAHA

        Like

            • However

              1. FWR was the only one so far to exactly predict what Syaoran would do, going as far as saying that he knows him the best.
              2. FWR also stated that his and “Syaoran’s” wish is the same. Maybe even, literally, THE SAME wish?
              3. Xin Ho(FWR’s black haired female sidekick killed by him in Tokyo) was a failed clone/creation in his attempts to recreate someone.
              4. Xin Ho and R!Sakura were both featured on the same cover in mirroring similar outfits.
              5. Xin Ho used Clow-styled magic circle when she sent R!Syaoran to Yuuko.
              6. The name of R!Sakura is unknown too.
              7. Both FWR and Syaoran are Chinese-motif sword-magician-type characters.
              8. Both FWR and Syaoran have been constantly stating that they will achieve their wish, “no matter what”.
              9. Syaoran went as far as to say “no matter how much time will it take, I will not stop trying”, when talking with Fai and Kuro in the Timeloop-Clow.
              10. Thanks to Watanuki replacement, Syaoran is “outside of timeline he was born in, having been replaced by Watanuki there.

              • I don’t think FWR is Syaoran (the son) for the fact that FWR intended to kill Syaoran with Fye’s curse (who was used on Sakura instead, because she changed the future).

FWR wouldn’t kill his own past self, right?

As far as comparing Syaoran to FWR goes, you are very right on all your statements, but that’s how CLAMP deals with their heroes and supposed villains, they like to make them look equal.

  2. I think the reason this feather is so special is because it’s lain in Clow Country/Tokyo for GOD knows how many years. Centuries I’d guess. So it represents “time” it’s stayed in one place for so long tat it’s become “engraved” with all “time” that’s passed. Just like how FWR said Sakura’s body has been “engraved” with the dimension it traveled to. So the feather is time and her body is dimensions, with the power of both he can turn everything topsy turvy!

You know, I kind of have a feeling we’re about to enter another brain-melting flashback, to explain all about FWR. For some reason I feel like he wants to revive Clow Reed. ZOMG! Secret yaoi lovers! No, no. Clow/Yuuko pwns that.

When I originally saw the page where FWR or Yuuko is talking about his wish (I don’t remember where it is! Sorry!) I thought the person was Yuuko. Because in that page, FWR and Clow are there in either corner, but it’s Yuuko in the center, and she’s surrounded by rings that seem to cage her. it made me feel like Yuuko is actually an extremely powerful spirit, one so strong that even normal people can see and interact with her. But she’s still dead, and her job is the only thing binding her to the world. Or maybe, I thought, it was metaphorical, where Yuuko “died” when she started that job, since she was now the all powerful witch of dimensions. I’d guess that job is her entire life, and she can have no one outside of it, that’s how it seems anyway.

But if the person he’s trying to revive is someone we know, I bet it’s Clow! Of course, FWR turns out to have a redeeming quality, because CLAMP is incapable of creating a purely evil character, they all have complicated facets and they’re own reasons for doing things. No one is “pure evil” and I like how they show that n their work. Everyone has a reason for the things they do.

ZOMG, this is a long post….

Hum… that’s an interesting point of view. I love reading my readers’ comments because of that XD You all have so great ideas. But hum, the feather in Spirit had also been there for centuries. 300 years, I believe.

      >For some reason I feel like he wants to revive Clow Reed. ZOMG!

I don’t think so. He clearly said once that Clow is no longer interferring in his plans because he’s dead, only Yuuko was. So he seemed happy that Clow was dead xD

      100% agreed.

    • I also think the same too!!! That FWR wants to revive Clow Reed!!!

I remember that when I was reading one of the chapters, when they talk about everyone (or I think is everyone), wish for this, a wish that is impossible to fulfill… yeah, I think it meant that, a thought raced through my mind: FWR WANTS TO REVIVE CLOW REED!!!

I think it sounded stupid, but I still stick to that thought, ‘coz it would be surprising. I really hope that he wanted to revive Clow Reed, ‘coz I want to know why.

      Hehehe…

      Like

    • That actually makes perfect sense -.-” now I feel SO stupid for not thinking of it

Xing Huo was probably the closest, and that’s why he kept her around. I bet she an almost perfect copy, and that’s what the real woman would have done, try to stop the mad man her husband was becoming. but he’s gonna totally crazy and is determined to bring her back from the dead, since cloning won’t bring him what he wants. He’s probably idealized her so much in his head by now that he can’t get a clone to do it right. GAWD! I actually really hope that’s the right answer!

      Like

      • I don’t know why, but when i look to Xing huo i remember of Himawari-chan… and that brings me back to the ” Wata is FWR” theory, although it was because of him that Wata was created, but i guess we could expect anything of CLAMP at these times.

To answer your question, let us turn to the expert on time and space. Who better to ask than a Time Lord? In the Tenth Doctor’s exact words, “People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect… but actually, from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, it’s more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly…. timey-wimey…. stuff.”

*cough* Sorry. When I saw that part of your post, that’s all I could think of. XD

      • That about sums it up, yeah. Step on a butterfly in the past and change the whole world… But honestly, what did a butterfly ever do to you? XD Doctor Who works around similar principles of time, so it’s easier to understand what Clamp trying to get across with the whole time thing. Makes your head spin, doesn’t it?

  4. Ya know, I’m starting to think that CLAMP is going to mess with us and just give us this huge wide open ending. For some reason I keep thinking that the tube scene is going to be one of the last ones in the manga. Hmm, I wonder if FWR is trying to revive Sakura, that enough not-sense to make sense if logic and illogic have reversed themselves.
Man, where are flashbacks when you need them, we don’t know enough about FWR!

    • >For some reason I keep thinking that the tube scene is going to be one of the last ones in the manga.

Me too, I think it won’t happen in this volume. Maybe the opening scene of the next and final volume? That would be cool!

  5. If FWR wants to revive Clow, what would his reasons be? I don’t know how long he’s been planning this whole thing, and it’s hard to come up with ideas since time on the different worlds flow differently. For instance, CCS!Sakura gave up her wand, and presumably her powers with it. Maybe FWR wants these powers, so he needs to revive Clow in order to accomplish this? How would Eriol and Fujitaka fit into this scheme? Apparently Yuuko’s known Clow for awhile, and knows him personally, and she’s always known about FWR’s scheme, so where would she fit in? There are too many freakin’ unanswered questions. I would shit bricks if Yue shows up. 😀 Ahh, that’s just my inner fangirl dreaming…

Speaking of inner fangirl, this chapter definitely looks promising for the completion of K/F/S/S subplot. Yaaa~y!

    • I don’t think it’s Clow for the simple fact that FWR once said that Clow is no longer interferring in his plans because he’s dead (only Yuuko was).

So he wouldn’t want to revive someone who was against his plans in the first place.

  6. Well I guess according to what Mokona’s said, the feather that Sakura had left behind, of her own will, in order to keep the Tocho building safe from the acid rain until the people remaining in Tokyo can fix the structure of the world (like Yuuko had said). So the time, effort and memories put into mending the structure of the world, starting from there (since that’s where everyone is), probably made her feather that much more special. And also, it’s the country where Sakura, the one who owns the feathers, was born into.

As for predictions—if it’s not a woman (loved one perhaps?), then I’m gonna guess it’s Clow, only because I want to see what happens if he’s really brought back to life. Other than him, I can’t think of any other character in CLAMP history who we can relate FWR to, since we don’t know too much about him other than that he’s a Reed.

    Like

    • Hummm that is a very nice explanation about why the feather is so special, but I’m not sure if it’s convincing enough for me (I’m so picky XD)

If they don’t give us any other official explanation I’ll believe that one XD

I think it’s a woman too, and it’s now Clow because Clow was against FWR’s plans and he knew it, FWR seemed happy that Clow is no longer interferring in his plans because he’s dead. So, it can’t be him ^^”

      Like

      • Hmm, you do have a point there about Clow though, but the question now is who and whether or not she’s a character we know or a new one =/

My friend thinks that FWR might be future Syaoran (the son), but then that just gets confusing… not that TRC already isn’t with the twins, clones, doppelgangers, alternate selves and etc.

kudos to Mokona’s words to Uncle Butt Chin about Sakura! :’) it’s really sweet!

    And no splash…

Break eh? I guess it’s time we let our brains to rest…

    T.T

But lol, I always thought that that particular feather is important, coz those people promised them that they’ll return the feather. That’s why I’ve been expecting them to go to Tokyo, maybe in the future and see what has become of it… But this was totally unexpected…

    >We barely know who Fei Wang Reed is, what time he lives and what’s his parenthood with Clow.
And we barely know about Clow Reed also..

Could it be Yuuko? Or someone that hasn’t make her (I really assume it’s a she) appearance yet.

    • I think it’s a woman too… but at this point of the story to introduce a completely brand new character would be so anti-climatic, I don’t know.

It would be a much bigger twist if it were someone we know.

  10. Touya! Yukito! How I missed you… ^_^ I wonder where they were during the whole time-loop arc. With all those worlds appearing on the last page, I wonder if we’ll be seeing some other acquiantances of Yuuko again, like Sorata and Arashi and Ashura?

As for who Fei Wong Reed wants to revive, maybe we should start a list of all the characters who’ve died so far in Clampverse…

… though in jest, I’m still going to say Hokuto, who’s really mad that Seishirou still hasn’t caught up to Subaru and Kamui yet.

  14. Not sure if this was ever mentioned or if it even makes sense, but could it be the woman, The Madoushi, from the first Cardcaptor Sakura movie?

Maybe Fei Wong Reed was jealous of the love that Clow and Madoushi had in the beginning while she was his student, but later on she became Clow’s rival and FWR might’ve wanted her for himself since she was quite powerful, thus falling in love with her in his own twisted way? (that is to say if FWR is as old as Clow would be if Clow were still alive)

I know she’s a anime only character, but you never know since CLAMP did use The Kiishimu in the TRC manga.
