About a month ago I wrote here that CLAMP’s Nanase Ohkawa would write the lyrics for XXXHOLiC Shunmuki theme song. However, earlier today the opening and ending theme songs were announced and it’s possible to conclude that Nanase Ohkawa is not in charge for any of them.
It was a misinterpretation of the article which served as source of information. At the time I even checked with someone with a better japanese knowledge than me (Sakura84-chan), but in our defense, it’s a quite tricky sentence! xD
The information I had posted was:
CLAMPの大川先生によって用意される脚本をはじめ、主題歌も新たに用意されるとのこと。
According to CLAMP’s Ohkawa-sensei, preparations for the script have started, the theme song is being prepared as well.
The translation is correct, the mistake was to relate Ohkawa as the person in charge for the theme song. But again, it’s a tricky sentence, it makes it looks like the song is also in her charge.
I would like to apologize for the mistake (too bad, it wasn’t this time that we got a new song by her =/).

I agree it sounds like FONOGENICO and SEAMO, believe me, I thought the same when I heard it xD I don’t know why they think this suits XXXHOLiC? xD

Wow~~ thanks for the translation. XDD Indeed, it sound like Sakura talking about Syaoran (I don’t get the Watanuki part though) or Himawari-Doumeki-Watanuki supporting relationship . :p

Wow, that translation sounds like my Latin homework! All of those phrases with a lot of helping verbs and sound like they should be passive but aren’t…. anyway, it’s okay, we all make mistakes, and that sentence is one that is open to interpretation. But might I ask, how did you guys figure out then that she didn’t write the songs?

Yeah, the second part of that sentence has no subject so it’s implicit who is the subject ^^
How did I find out? Easy, they were announced today, the official songs, and they were not composed by Ohkawa ^^ Suga Shikao always writes his songs and AZU wrote the lyrics for CHERISH.
