Yuuko enhances the importance of the treasure room, that is the only place she needs to protect until the Promised Day. I wonder if this infamous scene takes place in the treasure room, inside the tube that is being kept there, when the store is about to collapse. But the store doesn’t seem to collapse, more like fade away. We’ll see.
Whoooa! So many treasures! Isn’t Yuuko a CLAMP fangirl or what? It’s like a tip of the hat to almost all CLAMP works! So let’s see, Fye’s tattoo and Kurogane’s Ginryu, obviously, an Angel Egg (I’m sure Icchan sent her from the future, obviously xD), Akari-chan’s photograph, Shurato and Yamato (Ashura and Yasha’s swords), OMFG THE CLOVER BIRDCAGE (the one Kazuhiko gave to Oruha as a birthday gift), Fye’s magic staff, the Karasu Tengu fan, the Monkey’s Paw tube, the Kudakitsune tube, Chii’s ears and finally the Daffodils jug. And oh yeah, the one and ONLY “Star Wand”.
So, first things first. What the hell is Yuuko doing with the CLOVER birdcage? Same reason she has an Angel Egg, I think xD CLAMP really want to shows us that she knows all their characters.
Speaking of eggs, the eggs appear again, to explain Watanuki’s existence. I still don’t understand how the eggs became two. We know Watanuki was born to take Syaoran’s place, but what about the eggs? Why it became two when it arrived at Yuuko’s shop? I can’t wait to see the other one (which is in Doumeki’s possession) to play its role.
The pocket watch! The pocket watch! Every time I re-read chapter 1 I asked myself about that watch, for some reason I was always curious about the birds XDDD But clearly I could never imagine that inside it was a hidden family picture.
So Syaoran changed his face and family name? His face too? I didn’t quite understand that part. When exactly did he change his face? Before going to Clow country? Does that mean Sakura and Syaoran’s son ALWAYS looked like Watanuki?
I was under the impression that Watanuki’s appearance was just a random one that Yuuko created in order to fill Syaoran Jr’s place, and if Syaoran “changed” his appearance to the one he has now, does that mean their son doesn’t look like neither Watanuki or Syaoran? I’m not sure if I’m being clear enough, but we could have 3 different appearances here.
1) The original son (new, never before seen appearance);
2) The “Syaoran” appearance (in order to set off to Clow country, still “original son” under a disguise);
3) The “Watanuki” appearance (after the time warp, another being).
Am I too crazy? ^^”

I think I’m off for now, but I leave extremely satisfied with such a revealing chapter =)

Watanuki was a Syaoran before he became a Watanuki so I figure she was just talking about Watanuki.
If she IS talking about Syaoran though, why did he change his face? And will he have to stay that way in order to be with his Sakura assuming he can get her back?
On another note Clone!Sakura is dead right? It’d be justice if Clone!Syaoran died so he could be with his Clone!Sakura instead of fusing with Syaoran Jr. It’d match nicely with the concept of individuality CLAMP seems to be pushing.
The tube-thingy! Real!Sakura’s soul must be inside!

I think it’s the one we’ve been calling R!Syaoran that changed his name and appearance… and THAT protected Watanuki from FWR.
I find it funny though, that his name comes from this tradition that’s meant to PREVENT children from suffering from SPECTRES and disease…. Something went wrong didn’t it? Watanuki was plagued by those things!

I knew this chapter would be awesome the second I saw that Angel Egg.
Am feeling a little depressed over Sakura no longer having her Star Wand (oh, and, uh, possibly being dead)…the second half Cardcaptor Sakura (because it was released in two parts by tokyopop) was my very first manga and I’m very attached to Sakura and that Star Wand. I think I’m going to cry the next time I reread…

Shoot! Forgot to write my thoughts about that. Well, I think that she’s strong enough to not need her staff anymore. I mean, Clow didn’t need one to make his magic. That, or CLAMP was so cruel and really took out her powers like they did with Nihon!Tomoyo’s yumemi powers.

I hope she didn’t lose her powers…I always had this idea that as Sakura got older, the staff would actually grow too, and eventually become the way it looks when Kero and Yue are absorbed into it. (Got the idea from Eriol’s fantastically tall staff.)

I think it’s about watanuki… because if shaoran changed his face, fey wong would know, right? like “i know he’s the son… but he looks different”. or… in other ways, he changed his appearence and name before EVERYTHING. But that would mean CCS!Sakura and CSS!Syaoran knew everything since the beggining of times. XD
(at the time of the birth of the child, CCS!Sakura says: don’t get too bond with him dear… we’ll have to change it, name it and send it to another world in like 6 years… and yeah we have to assume we we’ll be dead by the time the readers wanna see us older D:)
But that leaves me with a doubt… if they changed him before sending him… maybe they’re not actually dead. They’re hiding to protect wata (and syaoran too) from fey wong as yuuko said.

I was just thinking….what if CSS! Sakura and Syaoran hadn’t gotten together? I’m trying to remember the chapter where son!Syaoran talked about that not being his real name. Was it his father’s own name?
I’m really caught up on how different Watanuki looks from either Sakura or Syaoran. So, I have this whole side thought about what if son!Syaoran was really the child of Eriol (though I know there was zero interest there in CCS) and thus…wow, I’ve confused myself. But if son!Syaoran is not the child of CCS!Syaoran, then he could fall in love with Sakura-hime, since then it wouldn’t reek of “you’re in love with your mom from another world”-ness. If that’s the feelings son!Syaoran has for Sakura-hime, that is.

About Watanuki’s pocket watch, I did not get its importance and how it it related to the shop. Is it somehow protecting the shop?
Maybe one of the birds on the top of his watch represent Tanpopo and the other, the bird inside Doumeki’s egg that will never hatch. What do you think?
So the family picture is it just plainly inside the watch or hidden behind another picture?
Also, about the last Tsubasa chapter, who grants Shaoran’s wish? Fei Wong? If so, “Why Yuuko says “I have the power to grant your wish.”??
The magic circle that then appears, is it Fei Wang’s magic circle? Or is it Yuuko that made this CCS magic circle appear with the Sakura’s wand?
How does Fei Wang speaks to Shaoran? Through a dimension portal?
How does Yuuko speaks to Shaoran, through some telepathy?
What happens on page 7 of that chapter? Why does Shaoran stop moving? Because Yuuko is interfering?

I had never considered that Fei Wang might’ve tried to use Watanuki if he knew about his existence. Wow.
But still, the chapter complicates things further. All this about changing faces and stuff… it’s like… what?

I was, after I read your comments, really expecting to just see the parent’s faces, so I was really disappointed by that.

I always thought the watch was important, but it never occur to me that it could hold a picture.I thought it would eventually transform into that staff Shaoran holds in some images. I still wonder when would that staff appear.

I haven’t see the scanlated chapter yet but I’ve read the translation. Isn’t the ‘his’ referering to Watanuki?? I’m pretty sure Syaoran is the original. Faye Wong can track him down easily, means he knew what he looks like. He never found Watanuki until know though, nor knowing their relationship. Urrrgh… I’m dying to see more of Watanuki’s role in the events! >___<
Considering Watanuki is Syaoran, bet he somewhat think Sakura is important too. No wonder he's willing to sacrifice his memory to save her. So far, even when he met someone who need help, he had never sacrifice THAT much (I mean, hey, memory is your WHOLE being!).

…B-but Fei Wang is like right there in the previous Trc chapter when the other “Syaoran” is created and can see they’re physically different so I really don’t see how that could help hide him
Unless his face is an illusion only some people can see like Yuuko’s store…? xD; Maybe FWR’s face is an illusion too and he looks like Syaoran as well!! lawl

The way I understood it (and the translation I read)…I thought it meant that when CCS!Syaoran and Sakura took in Watanuki, they changed their names and looks to protect Watanuki, so FWR wouldn’t be able to find him.
It also seems that we have two different realities going on here. It seems like they made a point of saying that Watanuki’s parents died protecting him, but in the world where he exists. So I’m thinking that maybe in another world/reality, CCS!Sakura and Syaoran are still alive? P-please CLAMP, don’t kill my childhood.
Of course, this is just what I thought from the translation I read. This would be so much easier if I knew Japanese.

I think you are wrong, from the translations, it’s the other way around :
CCS|SxS son’s appearance is ‘Syaoran'(meaning their son really IS the carbon copy of his own father). Syaoran Li(father) changed Watanuki’s face and last name in order to hide him, for him not to be found out by FWR…
It explains the whole thing about CCS|SxS wishing for both children to be clearly different from one another (in order for both of them to keep on existing, with ‘2 Syaoran’ it would have been weird I guess ^^;;)and also resolve another thing: if ‘Watanuki’ is a replacement of ‘Syaoran’, that he replaces his existence and takes his place close to SxS, it should only be normal for him, as ‘another Syaoran’, to also have his exact looks/name as well: now we know Syaoran Father was the one behind the change in appearance+last name, and Sakura Mother gave him his first name, ‘hiding’ both his bday date+the fact he is a ‘replacement’ inside of his name.
Well, I’m surprised to see you so satisfied with this chapter, even after learning CCS|SxS both died in this world (in the world Watanuki exists)…
If it was others mangakas, I would be all peachy thinking that there was no way in Hell they would ever kill THE ever absolute happy couple that shot their name to fame worldwide, but being Clamp, I can only whimper in a corner and pray they might spare them a way or another…but Clamp made such a big point all along that Watanuki’s parents are dead (since chapter01 actually) that it looks like they already made up their minds D:

I think Shaoran Sr. was the one who changed his son’s name and appearance. In Japanese, anyway, that passage is especially vague as to the subject.
I agree that there are three forms of Jr./Watanuki, as you outlined.

I thought Yuuko got the Clover birdcage in the chapter where she sends Watanuki out on a moonlit night and he and Mokona end up playing shiritori to ward off monsters. When they get to their destination, there was an old man with an empty birdcage and when the moon shone into it, they could see the shadows of Clover birds.

How can the real Sakura and Syaoran be dead?? The dialogue in volume 1 is that “I haven’t met that cute girl yet, or her boyfriend, but I definitely will see them soon. Even though it isn’t…. it was around the same time.” @.@
Maybe CCS Sakura and Syaoran are hiding as Maru and Moru.

Interesting theory on Maru and Moru, though my only concern about that is that neither of them as souls… How would Sakura and Syaoran be hiding as them?
Back when Yuuko said those words, it presupposed that she was talking about Sakura-hime and Clone-kun, who were about to arrive in her shop from Tsubasa. I guess might have been talking about Sakura Kinomoto and Li Syaoran… tricky stuff here.

This Chapter is wonderful, it’s the best chapter in more than one year.
I loved the crossover with that objects, I just didn’t understand about the Clover birdcage… It wasn’t in Gohou Drugs? Kazahaya and Rikuo didn’t take that birdcage to the store with the simbol oh Haruka-jii-san/Fei Wang Reed?

what I understood is that shaoran father(means, Li from CCS) changed his face and family name when shaoran JR. ask for the time to go back, so Watanuki, the replacement(sounds awful)of his real son, would be protected from fei wong’s plan. so that fei wong wouldn’t find him and use him.
my theory is that sakura change her face too, because is obvious that FRW would have recogniced her too.
they also changed watanuki real name to protect him(I’m not sure why)putting him that one in significant of the day he “born”(was created), april the first(because the day that shaoran JR. make his wish to turn the time back was april first, on sakura’s birthday)

Somehow it never occurred to me before but, there’s a really big comparison between Syaoran/Watanuki and Fujitaka/Eriol. Splitting one person into two, one with light hair and eyes and the other with dark hair and blue eyes. Oh those CLAMP ladies are vixens!
