CLAMP NEWS !!

Not so much going on…

06/10 – Newtype #07 – No Kobato. scheduled (on sale).
07/10 – Newtype #08 – Drop. 8.
08/08 – Newtype #09 – Drop. 9.

Great to see Kobato. is back in August.

– Next scheduled chapters (red means new):

06/11 – Shonen Magazine #28 – No Tsubasa scheduled (on sale).
06/18 – Shonen Magazine #29 – No Tsubasa scheduled.
06/25 – Shonen Magazine #30 – No Tsubasa scheduled.
07/02 – Shonen Magazine #31 – Chapter 192 – Color pages, beginning of tankoubon 25.

Nothing changes for Tsubasa’s schedule.

• Comics:

The covers of Tsubasa #24 have been announced!

So there you go, Sakura again to pair up with the previous deluxe cover. Both of them are holding a feather. Any guesses for #25? I can only think of Fei Wang or Xing Huo… or maybe “Fye” if we consider the whole “repeat” pattern xD

Both editions of Tsubasa #24 come out on July 17.

• Featuring CLAMP:

The August issue of Newtype magazine will come with a supplement entitled Code Geass Hangyaku no Lelouch ANSWER 500 which will include a section called CLAMP’s Mokona-sensei 20 Questions!.

I assume that 20 questions will be asked to our Mokona-sensei about the character design of Code Geass.

Newtype August edition comes out on July 10.

• Books:

CLAMP’s comment will be carried in the obi (belt strip) of the manga Sekai Ichi Hatsukoi ~Onodera Ritsu no Baai~ by Nakamura Shungiku (Junjou Romantica author). The manga will be released by Kadokawa on July 1st.

Now, CLAMP-NET.COM says this is a “illustration comment”, but I’m not really sure of what they mean by that. Will they draw something and comment in the same obi strip or just comment on some other illustration? Guess we’ll have to wait and see.

      • Well, we don’t know for sure if the Sakura and Syaoran for the first two covers are the real ones o/

        Kyle and Xing Huo are good guesses, too. I was trying to figure a pattern, ’cause it seems kinda random to put Syaoran and Sakura just like that, and the “copies” one is a good idea 😀

        • That is true as well.

          I think there are 4 left, and Fei Wang most certainly should be (I think?) in one of them. So that leaves 3 unknown possibilities. Oh Fujitaka should get one now that we know he’s more than an archaeologist. And maybe Nadeshiko.

          • I was hoping for Fujitaka in this one! But I’m thinking it might be more of a set, now that we’ve had Syaoran AND Sakura. It’d seem so random to have them in two volumes if the following weren’t connected somehow.

            N-not that CLAMP can’t be uber random with covers, but so far the only ones that followed some order were the ones with the main charas. ‘Cept for Mokona but she got in for the Clow!covers.

            • We had a couple of “logic” situations like RG Veda characters then X characters, but they don’t seem to have a very solid logic.

              I think Fei Wang will be in the very last one, or maybe some “new” character we haven’t seen yet (like CCS!Sakura/Syaoran, why not xD)

              My next bet is Fujitaka, then ^^”

  5. A nice Syaoran picture : he looks somehow like a military going out to war, though the feather he is holding carefully in his hand and his smile contrast with his looks and huge gun ^^
    It’s a nice picture because, for once, he doesn’t look like overly serious or gloomy/angsting, like he’s been for a while in the latest chapters…

    And after a clone|Syao cover, we got a clone|Saku one ^^
    But will CLamp limit themselves to the ‘bodies’ (since there are only 2 bodies of each one of them in total) or will they take in consideration there are 3 personalities of each? Though I believe 3 Deluxe covers of Saku|Syao would be too much ^^;;
    I was thinking maybe a Fujitaka one but well, since it doesn’t looks like TRC is ending anytime soon, there is time for everyone, let’s see who is left? –> Fujitaka (archaeologist/King), Nadeshiko, Xing Huo and Kyle…and maybe Real|Syao with chinese clothings and his sword? *puppy eyes’ look directed at full power toward Clamp*. There would also be the ‘real’ Fye.

      Heehee~ ^o^ Well said and I’ll definitely will salute him since Syaoran is and always will be such a very honorable young man. All his determination and reasons to fight in battle – all for the sake of protecting what’s right, precious, and noble. The smile makes him a very nice touch indeed and this is why this cover is so awesome!

      He does look like it ^__^ It’s a very close-up shot too. CLAMP have been doing a lot of close-ups lately for Tsubasa.

    • I thought we would see Kurogane’s mech-arm in the next colored illustration as soon as it was first introduced, but we haven’t seen it since.

      I think we will eventually see it but not on a deluxe cover, I don’t think Kurogane or Fye will appear again. I could be wrong though XD

    As always, arigatou gozaimasu for the CLAMP news and updates. *bows* Pity that Kobato will not return until August. *sighs* Demo ne, sore wa daijoubu desu. Surviving strong as the TRC-less month has reached it’s halfway point and I’m not going to crack up! XDDD Ne ne, I absolutely am in love with both covers of “Li Syaoran, Jr.” (R!Syaoran) for the regular edition and Sakura-hime for the deluxe edition. I simply love Syaoran’s outfit very much and Sakura-hime’s expression makes her even more beautiful. >///< *bliss* 'Sides, both of them holding the feather = TOTAL WIN!!

  8. What a wonderful cover, but then again, CLAMP always draw wonderful cover XD Anyway I like the deluxe cover more tha the normal one ^___^ and for the guesses for #25…well… FWR or Kyle maybe but I think King Fujitaka has great chance too!

  9. The cover of the Deluxe edition is beautiful beyond words (T-T)♥ I want it in poster~~~~!! So pretty…

    I wonder who’s going to be on the last cover… I hope it’s not FWR, cause no matter how sad his past was or the huge revelation that he wasn’t such a bad guy CLAMP gives us at the end, I’m not going to like this character, just like I didn’t like Taishaku-ten in RG-Veda.

    • I do think it’s going to be FWR for the last. Or maybe anti-last and they’ll save the very last one for a major and yet new character. Something in the odds of CCS!Sakura/Syaoran maybe xD

      • CLAMP tried to tell us he wasn’t a bad guy in the end, but I didn’t care about his reasons. He killed Karyobinga (was that her name?) in a very cruel way that showed what a good person he was ;;;

        I wouldn’t like CCS!Sakura/Syaoran for the last cover, I’m not sure why… I don’t want TRC to be CCS2 (x_x)

          I don’t think they tried to show us that. I think they just showed us that he had a reason to be so cruel. Good reason or not is up to each one make up their own conclusion.

      Having a CCS|SxS cover would be very nice 😀 I would die for a color picture of the adult couple!!! 😀
      But I don’t think it will happens, unless they have a big enough role to play in TRC/Holic plot to consider and list them as ones of the importants characters…because as of now, Clamp carefully cared not to show them, at all – their whereabouts and wellbeing are unknown and that, even though they are obviously the ones who ‘started’ the whole things, by sending off their son + no flashbacks and even when they are mentioned it’s only the things they said or directly related to their son, nothing about themselves…
      Clamp either don’t want to include them in TRC|Holic and voluntarily leave them apart, or CCS|SxS do have a big role in all this an they will appear at the least expected moment.

  11. I suspected the first Sakura cover wasn’t the clone, just like the first Shaoran cover wasn’t. I’m really thinking FWR will be last, and we should be seeing Fujitaka and Nadeshiko, either together or separately, on the deluxe cover sometime soon.

    So this means 24 will be the last to be released before I leave. Ah well.

      Yes, I think so too. FWR is a given, then there’s Fujitaka, and maybe Nadeshiko.

      I’m placing all my bets on 24 volumes, but it’s not like it’s official or anything. You mean leaving Japan?

        Hmm, 24 volumes total? I suspect at least 25, probably 26–Jr. hasn’t even finished his flashback yet. In any case, though, I feel sure it will be over before the end of the year (same for HOLiC as well).

  13. Who was in the 5th cover? I can’t remmebr now. And I hope the next two ones are Kuro and Fay, Vampire-not-fake-smiles Fay deserves a cover and a colo version of Kuro’s new arm too. But that leaves us with 2 more volumes…. 5th migth be FWR and the final one… the person who FWR wants to resurrect? But still this new set should have to go to the end… what if we all were wrong and only there are 3 more volumes?

    Hi!!!
    Long time no visiting!!
    I have a few question…
    Clamp have ever said how long would be Holic or Kobato(like with Tsubasa, that are 28 volumes)? Because if Kobato go on like this, a short chapter per month, they will finish it when I’m gonna be 60(and I’m 20). But I’m glad at least there is a new chapter in August.
    About Holic, u have any idea about chapter 158? I have been looking for it a whole week now and noone uploaded it.
    I’m glad also that Tsubasa almost reach volume 25. It’s a pity that now, so close to end, Clamp is taking out two chapter per month only. I love volume 24’s cover. Shaoran looks amazing.
    How did Clamp do, in the old times, to take care of 4 or 5 mangas at the same time???
    Do u have any idea why are they taking so long to released chapters now??
    What about the reseach they were suppose to be doing this month? Any clue about it?
