Code Geass – Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 premiered yesterday in Japan and you can get the RAW of episode 1 via TokyoTosho from many different sources. You know the steps, just type Code Geass in their search field to get the results.
As reported previously, CLAMP drew the illustrations for the Ending sequence:

The illustrations are just beyond gorgeous! It’s basically Code Geass through CLAMP’s eyes xD The drawings were done by Mokona but Nekoi painted them using CG. I was surprised with the total amount of illustrations, I thought they would be fewer. Beautiful work, CLAMP.
• XXXHOLiC◆Kei:
Amazon.co.jp has a list for all the upcoming XXXHOLiC◆Kei DVDs. There will be 7 volumes, and each one of them will have a limited edition coming with a Drama CD and a booklet. The first Drama CD will be written by Nanase Ohkawa.
According to Amazon, the release schedule and product details goes as the following:
Volume 1
Release date: June 25.
Running time: 25 minutes.
First edition limitation: Post card, booklet and Drama CD scripted by Nanase Ohkawa.
Volume 2
Release date: July 23.
Running time: 50 minutes.
First edition limitation: Booklet and Drama CD.
Volume 3
Release date: August 20.
Running time: 50 minutes.

Release date: September 24.

Basing on the DVDs running time that Amazon.co.jp is reporting, XXXHOLiC◆Kei will have only 13 episodes.
I’ve been seeing this (quite a lot) in articles and interviews about the the new season, but I thought the series could be expanded to 26 episodes when we get halfway through it. But after this, I’m getting more and more convinced.
So for now, 13 episodes only.
Last but not least, ASCII.jp has their report on the XXXHOLiC◆Kei event at LOFT/PLUS ONE (they have a bigger version of the CLAMP and Mizushima picture), and Hobby-Channel has an article about the XXXHOLiC◆Kei stage event at TAF2008. Phew!
The ASCII article states that, up to the event’s day, Episode 1 was done, Episode 2 was in the middle of after-recording, Episode 9 was being drawn and Episode 12 storyboarded.

Gorgeous illustrations huh ^^ I just finished watching the raw for Code Geass – I practically screamed with joy when I saw the pictures (my siblings gave me a weird look)
I hope sub-groups will pick up Code Geass and xxxHolic soon!

Me too, they really know how to use space. Sometimes they make mistakes, but overall most of the times their composition is flawless.

Only 13 episodes? That’s… strange. Don’t they have about the same amount of materials to work with as before? (then again, the pacing seems faster this time, and if they’re continuing like before where they’re cutting off ties to Tsubasa, the recent manga arc might be a bit hard to animate xD)

I agree 🙂 I think the only way to look even better would be if the coloring was actually not done by CG (but then again, this one looks extremely cool already!).

Well, yes, but back then when Season 1 began, they also announced the DVD plans shortly after the premiere, and it had 8 DVDs. I don’t remember their running time when they were first-announced, though.

I love Lelouch and Suzaku’s illustration. I think the OP and ED for this season is the best. and I really hope there is more of xxxHOLiC Kei episodes. 13 episodes is short to me.

13 episodes is a bit short, but it’s also understandable that they might want to try to cut things short so that they don’t get in over their heads and get into stuff that they probably don’t want to without resorting to making up conclusions.
I mean, face it: there’s no way to adapt the current big arc–Watanuki losing his memories and the concept of dreams vs. reality–without making up an ending that doesn’t involve Tsubasa. I don’t know if they could even satisfactorally adapt that without Tsubasa, to be honest…

Exactly. Not to mention some arcs have been covered in Season 1 already (the lady with the photograph, the snowball fight).

They’ll HAVE to come up with an original ending that doesn’t relate to Tsubasa. And maybe that ending can be told in 13 episodes. We’ll see.

So it was painted with CG!! I didn’t know that CLAMP will draw the ending… But I did suspect it’s CLAMP behind the scene!! Especially that sword Cornelia’s holding!!! It’s the same one from another art which Suzaku is holding!! No wonder I thought that the colors aren’t so CLAMPish~~~ I’ve never seen CLAMP art in CG before!!! Suzaku is hawt~~~ The music is splendid!! It blend with the artwork sooooo harmony!! Thanks a lot!!

Really? Gouhou Drug colored illustrations are all painted in CG, so were the CLAMP IN WONDERLAND, 3-D LAND and CARDLAND packages. Also the CLAMP No Kiseki short comics.
Nekoi is really good at CG, one can get confused whether it’s real painting or not ^^

Some people from 4chan decided to analyze the meanings of the pictures that CLAMP drew, link to LJ here. Wow, either someone is over analyzing this or CLAMP really thought deeply about the ending sequence!

Thank you! That was a really interesting reading.
However, I think the person is analyzing way too much. That really must be the way CLAMP see each of the characters, and also, they like to use those elements in their illustrations, wings and chains.
