Finally, I know ! XD It took me this long to change it because well, I really liked the previous one, and I also didn’t have much free time to make another one ^^”
But here you go, New Year, New Layout ! XD
Behind the first cut there’s an explanation about the layout, and behind the second cut there is a Poll, which I would really appreciate if all of you answer to it. Thanks ^^
This one was a real fun to make, but also very hard. All the recent TRC events (you know, everybody turning into “bad guys”) inspired me to do it XD I wanted to play a joke with them xD
I took Franz Ferdinand’s song “The Fallen” and based the whole thing on it. I needed to cover the japanese texts that came in the colored image somehow (because I took the magazine scan), so I threw parts of the song which I thought suited the image (and also that I liked) as though they were cut from a magazine.
Then, as I was doing it, I realized it would look cool if the entire thing looked like it was all hand-made. So I also threw some cut-ups, adhesive tapes, glue, a ribbon and some scribblings (these last two I even scanned myself xD).
The pictures in the upper part of the layout represent their happy past, which seem so distance now. I tried to make them look rather old, like they had been taken a long time ago, and they are in contrast with the vivid colors of the main image, which represent their present.
I threw some pictures taken from real magazine covers of the 50’s, and for that I blame the Pop Art project I did for my university. I thought they would increase the “collage” feeling (and also because I really like the 50’s xD).
Sakura is holding a board in which you can read my favorite line of the song lyrics. I love the irony of it ^^ And that was also written and scanned by me xDDD
Ah, the background, yeah. It’s an interview CLAMP did for Puff magazine.
For those interested in the song, which I strongly recommend, I uploaded it here (Right Click -> Save Target As….).
I did a wallpaper version too (1024×768) for those interested in it ^^

I use to wake up with that song on my CD player 😀 I’m a big Franz Ferdinand fan, and The Fallen is one of my favourite songs.
That’s funny because I would never had thought about that song for TRC, but it’s actually perfect ^__^

That’s what I do too ! XDDDD I’m using this “Generator” LJ template for god knows how long XDDDD Just changing it’s colors and position. I’m also changing the background, only XD
You could change the LJ Template, they call it style, I think O.o XD

What I meant is, I know you’re using the same stle everytime, but yours is a far more moddable one…I picked one where I can do very little XD And by changing pics, I literally mean just the pics…you have whole pretty backgrounds! =D

I chose Generator because it’s one of the few which you can view the background better (so that I can do layouts). But I’m adventuring myself in S2 now, and maybe, if I succeed trying to use it, the next layout will be with S2, which has much less background (just a header at the top of the page).
You should try them too once you change the kitty one (it’s so cute, isn’t it? XD)

Well….you *can* make C2 have space for background, if you know what you’re doing. Or so my understanding of it tells me ^^;
Thing is with the kitty one, it’s the only one where I can put on two images XD But the right image is starting to look less tidy the more I see it…but I’m so used to seeing my friends page and the like like that.
But yeah, I might try them if and when I change. ^^ (yes, the kitty theme is very cute XD)

I used Photoshop indeed, and yeah, sometimes I’m amazed by how you can change, fix, alter, etc, and make things look REAL even though they are not. You really can have the power to cause people different kind of sensations with PS (or any graphic-manipulation software). It’s like Art if you think in that way. It IS a kind of art, definitely.

That’s why I always put a link to the whole picture ^_________^ Because I know LJ table of posts will stay in front of 30% of it, and the browser covers anoter 20% of it XDDDD So in the end, you lose a lot of the original image ^^ Don’t worry, you are not slow ^^

That’s the only … oh wait ! There’s something you can do about it. Go to google and type “Anonymouse”, it’s the first result. By typing any URL in that site, you’ll be able to surf anonymously 😀 Which means, nobody will know if you are seeing it from Peru ! You can see all images again. The ONLY thing that you cannot do is DOWNLOAD files .____. But besides that, everything is normal. (there are so annoying advertisings too, but oh well, use it when you REALLY need to see something ^^)

New layouts always surprise me… I was looking at the right side and I kinda jumped off the chair when I saw many colours and things instead of letters xDDDD
The overall layout is great! A bit confusing at first, but it’s a matter of getting used to it 😛 I knew the song, and the picture and edit just match it very well (too bad Kurogane got decapitated by the entries, at last in my screen ^^U). In fact, the illustration has a Bleach-ish look O_oUU (in many Bleach illustrations, Tite Kubo drawas the characters dressed like… well, normal youngsters, but with very detailed and fashionable clothes).

E ah, eu descobri uma “gambiarra” pra vc poder ver meu LJ com as imagens e tudo:
Vai no google e digita “Anonymouse”, é o primeiro site. Daí vc poe a URL do meu LJ, e pronto ! Vai aparecer todas as imgs !
Como isso é problema de IP (alguma coisa ta bloqueando os IPs do Brazil, mas eu acho q eles não estao cientes), nesse site vc pode acessar “proxy-free”, ele elemina qq informação do seu IP.
Talvez vc ate jah conheça, mt gente usa pra burlar o Rapidshare, megaupload ^^ Eu mesmo conhecia, mas nunca pensei em colocar meu proprio LJ, e quando eu vi, deu certo !! XDD
Só tem um problema, DOWNLOAD de arquivos vc naum pode fazer .___. Mas imagem aparece. Ah, tem uns advertisings que enchem o saco tb, mas ai vc usa quando vc realmente precisar ver uma img =\

Sorry, haven’t had a chance to comment since last year. Internet connection in my place is AWFULLY DAMN SLOW! Thanks to stupid earthquake in Taiwan last year, broke whatever network connection and because of that, opening some website (like livejournal.com or fanfiction.net) is like a pain in the neck! Sometimes it won’t even open! Saying that “the server is responding too long”, “server is busy”, “no respond from server”, AAARRRGGHHH!!!! Ok, that about my rant, so the real comment is below. 🙂

BTW, what song is that, “the-fallen”? I seldom heard Western song so I was a little shocked by its rhytym (*sweat*). I don’t really like the music cause it’s too noisy but I like the lyric. The opening is saying something about being called bad boy because he like to destroy and what’s the matter with a little ‘destruction’, I like something smelled ‘rebellion’, hehehe…. XDDD
